Wren’s Redemption
I love it when there are new books with crossovers from other the author has written. This is definitely a new series but with the cozyness of the same world.
Wren and Flynn are ❤️‍🔥 I loved the connection that they shared. Ways that they were connecting and growing together.
Stacey again brings us the mystery and spice 🌶️ I couldn’t put this down! Grab this when it releases, and the other books she has to tide you over 🥰

Wren’s Redemption
By Stacy Lynn Hafner
4.5⭐️ 3🌶️

This book was sent to me as an ARC for my honest review.

Lines I liked…
Flynn: “It’s not like I showed you all my demons all at once. That shit takes time; I get it”

Wren: “I decided I’m going to focus on building a life that makes me happy and, there’s a lot of pieces to that but, I think you’re a big one. A really important one.”

My thoughts & feelings…
Wren’s Redemption was a great read! I got the thriller I was craving along with some fun spice. I had a really great time reading this book.

I liked how Wren was a silent badass, not in the sense that she was taking people out or fighting battles or anything like that. She helped women get out of tough situations and got them to safety, that takes a strong person. I would almost say a fearless one. I think Sloan said it perfectly, She’s a fuckin Hero! It just sucks that she couldn’t see that about herself.

Flynn, classic book boyfriend! Not a bad thing to say about him. He was understanding, strong, sweet and he supported Wren even when he didn’t agree with the decisions she was making.

This is definitely a book to add to your personal library.

Wren Matthews is finally coming home.

I absolutely LOVED this book! I’ve been waiting for Wren’s story since I finished Tattoo My Soul and it did not disappoint!

Basically any book that has a cult is an immediate yes for me, but Stacey’s writing seriously was above and beyond. From the emotions Wren experienced, to the ins and outs of how SBS operated, it was just chefs kiss.

Wren was such a believable character and from start to finish I loved her 😂 I loved Flynn just as much as Wren and he might actually be my favorite MMC of Stacey’s and believe me, no one is as surprised as me about that revelation 🤣

I loved the dynamic between the two of them, the banter was spot on, and the mouth on Flynn 👀🥵

The plot was great and had good pacing and had enough happening to really hold my interest. My only critique is that I felt like things wrapped up really abruptly. I loved the twist and the final outcome, but I wish we would have gotten a bit more time with the resolution.

Overall this was SUCH a great read and I cannot wait for the rest of the books in this series!

I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review 🖤

Wow!! The hold this book had on me from the start is unreal. It was so well written and everything you'd want in a Romantic Suspense. This book is the first in the new Dark Angels series but has ties to her earlier series Vanished Tattoo plus she has a Vella that gives you more backstory to our heroin (and she is every bit the hero!) Wren. I did not read any of Stacey's previous works but I was able to dive right into this world with no issue.
Wren is such a complex character who you can't help but cheer for every step of the way. She is fiercely independent and so strong even when she feels like she isn't. Her internal struggle with choices of the past and trying to make a path for her future are so relatable and speak to her beautiful heart and love she has for others.
And Flynn.... he is EVERYTHING she needs and more. His tortured soul needed Wren just as badly as she needed him. He saw something in our heroin from the start and his neverending faith in her drove this story right into my heart.

I highly recommend this book if you like:
*True Crime Vibes - Wren is a Cult Survivor, Flynn is an FBI agent
* He Falls First and HARD - moments of "touch her and die"
*Found Family
*Spice!!
*Suspense - I swear I wasn't sure who to trust!

Thank you Stacey Lynn Hafner for allowing me to get an ARC of this amazing book!

ARC REVIEW

So, I picked up "Wren's Redemption" by Stacy Lynn Hafner, (1st time reading her books) and boy, was I in for a ride! From the get-go, I was hooked. The story had me flipping pages like crazy, trying to piece together the mystery with every twist and turn.

Hafner's got this knack for storytelling that just sucks you in. She blends suspense, romance, and intrigue into this awesome mix that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Seriously, each chapter just reels you in deeper, making it impossible to put the book down.

And let's talk about the romance – it's the perfect balance to all the suspense. The chemistry between the characters is off the charts, adding this extra layer of depth to the whole story.

Bottom line? "Wren's Redemption" is a total winner. If you're into nail-biting suspense and swoon-worthy love stories, this book is a must-read. Hafner's storytelling skills are top-notch, and she'll keep you guessing until the very end. Trust me, you won't be able to get enough of this captivating journey into mystery and romance.

ARC review with no spoilers!!!

Do you love strong female characters? Do you love justice and redemption? Do you love romance? Do you love dual POV?

If so do yourself a favor and grab Wren's redemption.

Beautifully researched, feels like true knowledge of what it is like in a FBI mind and cult survivor mind.

This is a spin off from Stacey's Vanished series and it was great to see the old characters. You don't need to read the other books first but they definitely set up this book nicely especially Tattoo My Soul.

So what are you waiting for???

Wren's Redemption is the first book in Hafner's news series, The Dark Angels. This is a spinoff series from her Vanished Tattoos series. If you've read any of those books, then you will recognize some of the characters. This book centers around Wren Matthews, Logan Dahl's childhood best friend. (You can read her story in Tattoo My Soul.)

Wren disappeared thirteen years ago on her 17th birthday. Logan, and her brother Bodhi, have been searching for her ever since. They've gotten close a few times, but Wren didn't want to be found. When Wren left home, she joined a group called the Brothers and Sisters of Saturn. At the time it seemed like that was where she was meant to be, but today she knows it was a mistake. She left them about eight years ago, and while she wants to return home, she doesn't feel like she has earned that right yet. She is taking action to right the wrongs of her past.

When Wren learns that Logan has somehow found herself caught up in their web, she knows she needs to return. It is through Logan that she crosses paths with FBI Agent Flynn Hansen. Flynn, and his partner, Josh Garrison, work in financial crimes, so this isn't really their specialty, but Wren doesn't trust easily, and she trusts Flynn.

Flynn is instantly captivated by Wren and fells the need to help her. He knows there's more to Wren than what she has told him, and he is determined to finding out and committed to protecting her. Wren is a tortured soul who cannot seem to see the good she has done. For her, it is never enough. She has a big heart but chides herself for all her mistakes and misdeeds. She lives with the shame of her actions each and every day. Flynn also has a tortured past, and he endeavours to rid the world of monsters. He sees the beauty and good in Wren and wants to save her, but she doesn't need saving. Wren is strong and courageous and can save herself; she is a survivor. She just needs to know that she is not alone anymore.

In addition to being filled with mystery and intrigue, this book is a deliciously spicy romance. Our two main characters have amazing chemistry together. While they both fall fast, theirs is somewhat of a slow burn.

I loved this book! I was immediately pulled into the story, and completely captivated by Wren and Flynn. The story, written in dual POV, was beautifully written and perfectly paced. I wanted to solve the mystery, and like Wren, didn't know who to trust. As Hafner pulls us deeper into the story, layers are slowly revealed, and we learn more about both characters. I have wanted Wren to return since reading the Vanished Tattoo series, so this was such a treat to learn more about her background, and to have her reunited with Logan.

I definitely recommend checking out Wren's Redemption, as well as Hafner's Vanished Tattoos series. I can't wait to read whatever she will be releasing next!

Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Tropes:
🔥He falls first 🔥slow burn 🔥 dual POV 🔥spicy
🔥Romantic suspense 🔥revenge/redemption

Wren’s Redemption is book 1 in the Dark Angels series which is interconnected to her Vanished Series (which is amazing by the way so if you haven’t read them DO IT NOW :) ). This whole story revolves around Wren Matthews who went “missing” 13 years ago who is on her road to redemption after. She didn’t go missing; she had, unbeknownst to her at the time, joined a cult. Realizing what was really going on she helped some members escape, tried to break apart the cult from the inside, expose the cult and Teacher for what it really was, and then escaped herself.

If you read Tattoo My Soul, you learned a little about Wren, if you read Stacey’s Vella’s you learned even more about Wren. Wren goes back to Chicago after staying hidden for 10 years helping other women escape whatever horrible things they needed to get away from. But a trial of a former cult member and her best friend from when she was a kid is set to take the stand, she needs to go back home.

Wren is a strong, tortured survivor that is inspiring but also very relatable, who started on her road to redemption because she had a lot of guilt over believing Teacher, and recruiting other girls to join. She felt she had so much to repay for that she stayed away in order to quietly and under the radar help women who needed someone. Then she meets Flynn, a sexy FBI agent who believes Wren and has this urge to help no matter the costs. As more girls start going missing and other girls’ bodies end up being found, Wren decides to open up a little more about her past and the Sisters and Brothers of Saturn. Wren eventually realizes in order to really help people she should be honest about everything that happened while she was gone, and what the SBS was really about.

Wren and Flynn are everything. Their relationship is fire. I love watching Wren’s character develop, she’s always been strong and independent, but I loved watching her realize she doesn't have to do it alone. She has people in her corner ready to fight alongside her. Being able to open up about her past was a huge development. Another big development for Wren is being able to be her true self, expose who she really is, and not hide behind a disguise and fake name. Of course Flynn fell first and I loved watching them grow together. Their love didn’t feel rushed or unrelatable; it happened very organically and I love that about books, especially the way Stacey writes her love stories. You feel the rawness of their emotions. All the supporting characters are amazing. I believe Wren’s Redemption may be my favorite of Stacey’s books, alongside Tattoo My Soul.

If you like badass women, sweet and protective heros, suspense and plot twists that leave you reeling, this book is 100% for you!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4.5/5 stars

I was hooked from the first chapter and couldn't put this book down! Wren's past was slowly revealed throughout the story and was so interesting. I really enjoyed this read 😊

Highlights:
✨ Badass female lead
✨ Protective male lead
✨ Dual POV
✨ Spicy scenes from both POVs 🥵🌶
✨ Intriguing plot twists
✨ Blend of suspense, mystery, and romance
✨ Series debut - The Dark Angels Series
✨️ Available April 28, 2024, on Kindle

The characters felt complex and well fleshed out. I wish I had more insight into Flynn's background, but maybe that's coming in another book in this series 🤔

The plot twists had me shook. I literally was staring at the book like 😮 I LOVE a good plot twist, and this book definitely didn't disappoint!

The spice was *chef's kiss* 👨‍🍳💋 and the balance between story, romance, and spice was very well executed. I appreciate that there was a super interesting plot to keep me engaged outside of the romance between Wren and Flynn.

This was my first Stacey Lynn Hafner book, and I'm excited to check out more of her books. Keep an eye out for Wren's Redemption releasing on Sunday, April 28th!

Thank you to Stacey Lynn Hafner for this ARC in exchange for an honest review! All opinions expressed in my review are my own.

Wren’s Redemption is book 1 of the Dark Angel series and it did not disappoint! The story is enhanced if you read the Vanished series (at least up to book 3 Tattoo my Soul) but it’s absolutely not necessary in order to follow this book!

The story follows Wren who disappeared 13 years ago to join a cult. 8 years ago she escaped and has been seeking redemption for her actions. She doesn’t feel worthy of going home yet, especially since she’s still in danger.

Wren is something else. She’s fierce, strong, independent, smart and so so selfless. She’s also alone and scared. I wanted to be her friend and hold her hand every step of the way. She deserved everything amazing that happened to her

Her relationship with Flynn was fun to watch grow and I loved her reconnection with Logan. It was also nice to see the familiar faces from the Vanished crew!

You’ll enjoy this book if you like:
- True Crime
- Slow burn
- Suspense
- Friends that are like family
- MCs getting a fresh start

Thank you so much Stacey for the advanced copy of this wonderful book

[arc review] 4.8/5 ⭐️ // 3.5/5 🍋

I love a good romance suspense especially when one of the lead characters are federal agents! I majored in criminology so it is totally up may alley!! and the suspense in Wren’s Redemption was 😚👌🏻 I was literally on my toes the whole time and hooked from the prologue.

Wren is such a strong woman and is so human because she owns up to her mistakes. and hence the title, “Wren’s Redemption” I would definitely say she redeemed herself.

The instant attraction between Wren and Flynn!!! The book states slowburn but in terms of their relationship, it’s pretty fast paced. I loved everything about Flynn. He was so understanding even with his own scars.

It was so good seeing previous characters from the vanished series! It felt like returning home and i am so happy Logan was reunited with her childhood friend! 😭 I can’t wait for the rest of this series!! i’m thinking Ivy and Josh?? 🙈

⭐️ARC Review without spoilers⭐️

First let me say that this book is the first in the Dark Angels series, but exists in the same world as the Vanished Series (Tattoo My Heart, Tattoo My Love, Tattoo My Soul, Tattoo My Life). I highly recommend starting with the Vanished series to get the full experience, but I read this book first and had absolutely no trouble keeping up!

I read Wren’s Redemption in less than 12 hours. This is the first time I’ve ever struggled with writing a review because I feel like I can’t possibly describe how amazing this book is. If you like badass women, sweet and protective love interests, plot twists that leave you reeling, and vengeance, this book will climb to the top of your list.

Small details that I loved:
📍Wren is a smart, tortured survivor that is super inspiring and yet very relatable.

📍Heartwarming found family moments 🥹

📍Flynn. ❤️❤️❤️ so hopelessly romantic, so traumatized, a real ride-or-die.

📍I felt like I could trust NO ONE. I was looking for betrayal at every turn.

📍He falls first and it’s so soooooo good.

In depth review:
It’s obvious that the themes and concepts were well-researched. I felt like I was reading from the POV of a real life cult survivor and an actual FBI agent. The pacing was great. It was engaging without being confusing. The dual POVs flowed really well together. I felt invested in so many of the characters!! Overall an expertly written book and I’m definitely going back for the Vanished series!!

We open up to Wren who is on the run after escaping a cult. She changes her name, her appearance, and helps other women get out of abusive situations.

She finally goes home and breaks into her friend’s house with the hidden spare key. She’s tired of running.

Throughout the book Wren is struggling to be seen as herself, without a disguise. She essentially jumps into an FBI investigation as the FBI agents girlfriend/kind of witness. She has speculations as to who is behind recent murders.

Wren and Flynn’s relationship was…strange. But I honestly had a hard time connecting with any of the characters and just could not get myself to care about them which resulted in me feeling bored while reading. The spice scenes were ok but seemed repetitive. The same wording was used repeatedly, my sex, his erection, etc. At one point “seam of my vagina” was used and it was super off putting. I physically recoiled.

This book was ok, but not the best I’ve read. It just wasn’t for me. Different strokes for different folks. But absolutely read it if you are into murder mystery with a bit of spice.

Wrens’s Redemption is the first book in Stacy Lynn Hefner’s seres Dark Angels. When I started this book I did not realize that the Dark Angels Series takes place in the same world of her Vanished Series and that there would be character crossover between the two series, however, Wren’s Redemption can be read without previously reading the other series easily and without confusion. What I loved about this book is that it pulls you in from the very first chapter. It is well paced and consistent in its plot line with some great twists. When reading a suspense/of thriller novel I spend a large amount of time making predicitions on what will happen next, I was absolutely excited that it was not easily predictable. The characters are lovable and I really enjoyed Wrens character development

Things you can expect when reading Wren’s Redemption:
🌟Cults
🥸Disguises
♥️He falls first
🔥Slow burn
💕Dual POV
🗡️Revenge/Redemption
😎Sexy FBI agents
😬Suspense

This was a first for me by Stacey and wow she did not disappoint! I am an absolute sucker for a good romantic suspense and this one hits the spot! She keeps you hooked from the start and kept me on my toes and wanting more! The twists I did not see coming! The relationship between these two was absolutely priceless. I loved every bit of it. Wren is such a bad ass but she carries so much guilt. Flynn really helps her come out of hiding and helps her through all of her trauma. I really appreciated that we got to see their relationship so early on. This was amazing and is a cross over from her Vanished Series but can be read as a standalone. Which is what I did and it was really easy to follow along but I do highly recommend reading it to get a better feel for the characters! Thank you so much for the ARC!

This is the first time I've read anything by this author. I absolutely love her writing! I have actually purchased her previous series, The Vanished, as it has characters that are in this book. One of my favorite things is to read books and series that are stand-alones, yet the characters cross over. I loved Wren! She was such a strong female character. Flynn, I loved him as well. This book had a bit of everything, romance, suspense, justice, and finally, redemption. This was well written. I felt like I was right there as everything unfolded. This is book 1 of the Dark Angels Series, I am looking forward to the next book.

Listen when I say I was sucked into a book I am talking about this book. There was no points where I was bored or wanted to put it down. Wren is amazing, the time Stacey must have taken to get all these details just right must have been endless. Wren and Flynn’s relationship is sweet, spicy and everything one wants. Not only does wren realize the people she has behind her she seems to learn forgiveness. I’m not one for a cult book but omg was this amazing. If you want a book about a ❤️‍🔥badass woman, ❤️‍🔥slow burn, and ❤️‍🔥spice I absolutely recommend this book.

The way this book starts has you on your toes and thinking, what the heck is going on? This was my first Stacy Lynn Hafner book, and it immediately had all my attention. Without any spoilers, I would say this was one of the best suspense stories I’ve read in a while. I had to finish it and could not put my kindle down. Slow burn, Cults, FBI, runaway. That’s as much as I’ll say. But I definitely recommend this book be read ASAP!

Having devoured the Vanished series, I was so excited when Stacey announced the Dark Angels series. Wren was the perfect badass to start the series. Having overcome so much trauma in her life, she returns to confront those monsters. On that journey, she meets equally badass but protective Flynn. The book is well written that I can’t wait for others.

To say this book had my heart pondering, is downplaying the emotions I felt while reading this! “Slowly, bit by bit, I’m taking back my life.” These words ring true as Wren made her journey home. Written in 3 parts, Stacey takes us through Wren’s past and present. As we get to know Wren, we see that she is a strong woman who’s haunted by her past. Returning to her hometown puts her right into Flynn’s path. Fear does rear its ugly head often, but some amazing found family moments remind Wren that she’s an f-ign hero! Twists and turns make me wonder the whole book who I can trust and who has been in on it the whole time. What a great way to start the Dark Angels series!!!

Wren escaped from a cult and since then, she‘s continued to run. She tries to help others, to atone for her past mistakes, but the cult isn‘t ready to let her go. Not really. It‘s been thirteen years, but they‘re still after her. Wren and an FBI agent who definitely should not be involving himself in her life or her case, work together to give Wren her life back. Actually, a better one than she ever thought, but the past doesn‘t go down easy. Fast, captivating read!
