Hmmm. I am conflicted with this book. It’s a very digestible, easy read that I think can help women to feel empowered to listen to their bodies and take a holistic approach. However I also felt as though the key message I left with was to check out my Female Fundamentals, which include a test that I have to order from their website. Couldn’t help but feel like I was being sold something other than knowledge throughout the book. I enjoyed the last chapter and will use it for some journaling prompts, but I don’t think I got out of this book what I hoped. Also referencing Dr Joe Dispenza, the guy who believes that positive thoughts can cure cancer, just didn’t sit right with me.

Insanely informative and empowering book! I listened to the audiobook version of this book and loved hearing Anthea’s passion shine through. My biggest take aways from this book is my symptoms are my body communicating to me not that I am broken, to trust that my body knows what it is doing, to connect to my body more, the power of my mindset and that health care can be an integration of all different modalities depending on what I need! I loved the energetics chapter and the holistic approach described throughout the book- every woman needs to read this!

I really enjoy Dr Todd’s Instagram account and her easily digestible reels of information. I definitely learned a lot from the book however her car analogies throughout really bugged me.

Every female needs to read this. Being on a journey around optimising my health and listening to my body and also understanding ‘energetic health’ as a psychologist has been so enlightening. Highly recommend

1.5. Some sections of this book were interesting but I fundamentally disagreed with a lot of the points/arguments, like the idea that developing an autoimmune condition or chronic illness is essentially your own fault and you should avoid medications but purchase her scan for the ‘truth’. Would love to read a real Dr’s take

This book is a must read for every female on the planet! It’s informative, but on another level. Every concept explained in such an easy way to understand. It’s a whole new way of thinking and something I think has been a long time coming, your body is the solution, not the problem and all the answers are our bodies communicating with us every single day.
Educational & easy read. Highly recommend!!!!

Wow wow wow, the audiobook I didn’t know I needed! An incredible summary of the experience women typically have in a western health care environment, and described the gaslighting to a tee (lol)! This book focuses on building trust with your body, being able to listen to what it’s trying to tell us, looking past the symptoms and finding the root cause. Great analogies and easy to digest explanations of medical issues typically faced by women! Everyone should read/listen this book and I feel totally empowered to advocate for myself in my next gp appointment!

For years we have been told that there’s nothing wrong with us. It’s just part of being a female. But Anthea is here to tell us that is not the case! Such an insightful book that every female should read. Your body isn’t here to hurt you, it’s here to help you!

Informative read. This would be a great starting point for someone with little knowledge of experience w healthcare or someone who is trying to understand their body. The information is basic and sometimes repetitive.

I saw this book at the airport (my favourite place for browsing books!), and I went online and did the Female Fundamentals quiz which led me to a page where I would need to pay a few hundred dollars to get my hair tested. I didn't, I bought the book instead, thinking it would provide the same, if not similar information with tips, etc.

It was a good book, easy to read. It did feel repetitive with a lot of metaphors and links back to the quiz I took, which would inevitably lead you back to purchasing the test. This book might be more informative for someone who hasn't done any research or is happy to pay for future testing.

I picked this book up because I was interested in what it had to say because it was fr a woman’s point of view and because I’m in the midst of navigating menopause.
I found it to be a little too airy fairy and new agey- if that is still a term. It delved into how the illnesses and difficulties our body experienced were good, signs for helping us to work out what was wrong and how to fix that holistically, addressing all four fundamentals. Then it got air fairy and wanted me to pay to figure my fundamental issues. That didn’t sit right to me.
2.5 stars. Not a book I could recommend.

This is the book that every woman needs on their book shelf. This is the book the world’s been waiting for. For years we’ve been told nothing is wrong, it’s in your head, don’t worry about it but this validates the need to listen to your body. Listen to those signs, those flags, that little niggle that something doesn’t feel right. Thank you for birthing this Incredible book Dr Anthea, the world is better with you and this book in it. This book will be on repeat for me!!

I listened to the audio book and I loved the passion in Dr Antheas voice. The book is an informative powerful tool that inspires, encourages and validates your feelings, symptoms and body! The book spoke to me on so many levels. The old “your tests results show nothing is wrong vs your body telling you something different”. This book gave me a new respect for what my body does for me daily but also that I need to be listening to it more. Thankyou for such a brilliant book a must read!!!

A helpful guide on women’s health with an emphasis on listening to your body and intuition as a guide to maintaining good health. Oversimplified at times, with an overemphasis on ailments pointing to deficiencies, but it’s a simple guide and a healthy reminder to tune into and love our bodies through our actions.

A disappointment. The book can be summed up with: “Eat broccolli, do some exercise, and listen to your gut.”
Had high hopes due to her wonderful instagram posts, but the book mostly feels as a commercial for her company rather than anything with genuine insight.
Anthea Todd probably had the best intentions, but unfortunately, I did not learn anything from her book.

Easy to read book - not easy to follow - ideas that you need to change how you listen to your body is a great idea.

Lost me a bit in the middle (chapter 4).

Although I still like the idea that we determine our future and treating our bodies like driving a car - everything needs to be working to get us to our destination

Wasn’t really aware of the fact that typically healthcare providers aren’t giving a holistic health service and that this is an option available. Will look into this in the future for sure. Also found the ‘Mind over Milkshake’ research really interesting.

It was a bit woo-woo and all that energetics was a bit far fetched for me, but the essence of what she’s getting at is important and it was a good listen. I really enjoyed the analogies and I had a good laugh along the way.

I listened to the audiobook of this but I genuinely learnt so much about my body. It’s insane to think that if all GPs thought the same way as this author that we would probably have a significantly healthier species. I will be taking a lot of this into life with me
