This book started off great but it eventually fell apart for me. Indie and Seb had a brief fling one summer, only for it to end abruptly. When Indie transfers to Seb’s school and ends up rooming with his sister, they can’t avoid each other anymore. I’m a huge fan of second chance romances, so my expectations were high.
I genuinely enjoyed the first half of the book, but things started to lose their appeal when Seb’s sister forced them to spend a break together. I get that they still had feelings for each other and wanted to reconnect, but the way it happened felt rushed. Once they returned from the break, their relationship escalated far too quickly. Although I appreciated the moment when they finally talked about what happened during their time apart, the pacing threw me off.
The ending was heartwarming, but I couldn’t fully enjoy it. Seb didn’t grovel nearly enough for Indie, and she forgave him far too easily for my liking. It left me wanting more closure and growth from Seb’s side.
