My mates and I are being hunted by a dark force set on destroying the line of Nyx. They’ve not only put me in danger—but my family, too. But I’ve completed the three mate bonds I need in order to come into my power.
Now, I have to learn how to wield it.
I’ve been enrolled in Oberon Academy, the supernatural school of the elite. A place where status is earned through blood and power. Only the most ruthless survive here. And I need to prove that I can be the best of them if I want to rule.
But a darkness from my past finds me here in the halls. My enemies don’t stop hunting me, not even with my mates by my side. They want my death.
I’ll give them hell, first.
This is book three in the Daughters of Nyx series and must be read in order. This book features a plus size FMC, several fated mates, and a dark force determined to end the line of Nyx. This is a five book paranormal romance series (emphasis on the romance).
Just finished The Powers of Nyx, and I am absolutely screaming! The cliffhanger at the end has me desperate to dive into book 4 ASAP!
Ivy's journey continues with even more intensity as she embraces her growing power. Throughout this installment, she becomes stronger and steps more confidently into her role. Her mates are essential to her development, providing the balance she needs, and it’s exciting to see her start to bring them into her life, one by one.
This book takes us deeper into the world of Nyx, with Ivy navigating the complexities of political intrigue and the responsibilities of learning how to be a queen. The tension is high, and the storyline keeps you on edge, especially as we finally meet her mysterious mate, adding another thrilling twist.
Ivy’s character growth is one of the highlights of this book, as she evolves alongside the expanding dynamics of her harem. I absolutely loved The Powers of Nyx and can't wait to see where the story goes from here.
Thank you for sending me the ARC—this is my honest review, and I’m eagerly anticipating what's next!
Ivys continued transition to the throne has been quite rough for everyone involved. With more information on whose coming after her crown and how quickly she needs to defend herself and her mates, this was a intriguing addition to this series. But what a wonderful tale of how important a support system can be. to be loved and adored by so many. to have found family that is there and supports you and your siblings so thoroughly. ive cried a couple times. had to put the book down multiple times because i wanted this book to last. (thank you Audrey for gracing us with so many pages.) My heart has ached and other times has been so damn excited. Learning more about Ry had me going from so excited to so heart broken and scared. As this book was drawing to an end i got ever more so worried though. things went haywire and even though i knew shit was gunna hit the fan somehow i wasnt prepared for how. I cant wait for the next book i need it STAT (i dont, Please take your time. i know this next book will be worth the wait.) BUT IM SUPER NERVOUS PLEASE DONT BREAK MY HEART ill just go cry about it in the mean time. i hope everyones okay. i cant wait to read about her kicking more ass. And for these two mates that we will get to hopefully spend a decent amount of time with. thank you ever so much for this ARC.
I’m a sucker for a large harem, especially when it includes unique monsters and a curvy FMC—so this series definitely had elements I enjoy. I also really appreciated the inclusivity and diversity throughout the books so far.
That said, the spice is pretty inconsistent. I understand that each harem member brings a different dynamic, but the sudden shifts—one moment it’s all-in, the next it’s cold and distant—create a bit of emotional whiplash. Still, I’ve stuck with it, hoping for more cohesion.
It’s clear you're setting up spin-offs for side characters... but the issue is, we haven’t really been given a reason to care about them yet. I’d rather see deeper development of the FMC and her current harem before being nudged toward other potential stories. Right now, those setups feel forced and premature.
As the series nears its conclusion, I’m concerned it's trying to cram too much in—introducing important plot elements only to leave them underdeveloped or forgotten. Some relationship arcs feel rushed, or thrown in for the sake of it, which is disappointing after the buildup.
Fingers crossed the final installment brings everything together in a satisfying way.
I was lucky enough to once again receive an ARC of The Powers Of Nyx and let me tell you!!!! This book is probably my favourite so far! (I know there is still more to come 🤫🤫) The tension, the twists, the turns, the BONDS 🥵🥵 If you had seen me at points I was kicking and screaming like a school girl! She’s done it again and like I say every time - if you haven’t read any of the books in this series yet WHAT ARE YOU DOING ?!?! Go over to kindle right now and read it, go on I’m waiting!!
But in all seriousness Congratulations girl on yet another amazing book!! Ivy makes me love myself more and more with every book 💜 I just wish more authors would pick a plus size FMC every now and again 🥹
Thankyou so much for allowing me to read an ARC of this incredible series, i cannot believe what i just read & I desperately need the next book in my hands. Once again this series has trapped me and i didn’t put this down all day until i finished reading it.
We finally got some FF action and it was chef kiss, i adore these two so much & the introduction to new mates really kicked up this book and made it great.
What was that cliffhanger 😩 I desperately need to read the next book, I need my answers and to see ivy’s mates grow stronger together! Absolutely amazing book, so much happens and it just all works. So much emotion written throughout that really takes you on the journey.
This was such a lovely read! It took me a little bit to get back into the world of magic, but once I did this was so enjoyable! Highlights were Ivy attending magic school, meeting a new character Orion, and Ivy’s new friend. As always it felt very inclusive which I love. Even though I enjoyed the previous books from the series this felt like a step above the rest and if you liked the other books in the series then you’ll love this!! 💜I received an ARC of this book and am leaving an honest review voluntarily💜- I was a bit delayed in finishing this book because I wrote the wrong dates in my planner!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – Audrey Moore can literally do no wrong. Her books are delicious, her characters are mouthwatering, and the plots are the meals that leave you full, but always hungry for more! (See what I did there 😉)
More seriously though – I’ve been waiting for a five star read for awhile this year. I don’t give out five stars very often, and this was a 5-star read for me. Audrey wastes no time kicking this one off, about 2 minutes after the last one left off (I recommend you go back and read the last (3) chapters of the second Nyx book!), so we don’t have to wait long for the slowest of slow burn matings we’ve all been waiting for. (Thank GOD!)
I would normally do tropes and character reviews, but I won’t this time, since this is book 3. To see those, please see my reviews of books (1) and (2).
Some Highlights: - The MATES. Thank goodness for that bonding with Maeve. If I have one criticism, it was that mating situation happened without too much explanation. I had to re-read a few times to make sure it happened. The claiming happened during a lot of chaos, which is likely why I missed it while reading it the first time, but I would have loved a little more info when it was happening. We get the information later, (because of course we do!), but in the moment, I was a bit confused.
- Hawk. Oh sweet precious Hawkie. I KNEW IT. I just KNEW IT. I’m so excited to see what happens there. I’m still not convinced he’s a good guy. We all know he’s Ivy’s mate, but will that bond overpower his need to be bad? I feel like he’s still on the wrong side of this, and I’m not sure how that will shake out with his mate bond. I can’t wait to see what Audrey writes!
- Tessa – I would love an answer for her in book 4. It’s been teased, but no answers yet. I’m hopeful we’ll get something in book 4!
- As always, I’m here for some plus size representation. Thank you, Audrey Moore, for giving us mid and plus size girls a heroine who is actively desired! This is decidedly NOT the norm, and I’m so pleased to see it.
Ivy is fully growing into her power and her mates. She is learning so much about herself and letting go of the insecurities from her life. She’s learned to lean into family and protect them at all costs. As she begins to gain more power, and make her way to Avalon, will the mystery mate reveal himself? This book has a MAJOR cliffhanger! i nearly threw my kindle when the book just ended! I seriously cannot wait for the next installment of the Daughters of Nyx!
This story has so many twists and turns this time and I loved every second of it.
With additional information finally provided about our mystery mate and the addition of another who isn't part of the main gang made for one heck of a story.
I look forward to book 4!
*I was a BETA reader*
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Love the concept, the positive acceptance that every body is different and still lovable. I love the different relationships she has with each of her mates. I also had a rough idea who the “king” was. Trying not to give spoilers but fantastic series can’t wait till the next book!! I hope it’s sooner than November of next year though
I am in LOVE with book 3! The character building, the insight into all things Nyx and Avalon, and the continuation of the story that began with The Daughters of Nyx... This book is an epic voyage into magic, mates, and we see a little more of the dark side that Ivy will ultimately need to fight.
This book picks up right after the last. It's the third in the series, and it all keeps getting better. The mates, the lore, the twists. It's a wonderful read with of course a cliffhanger ending. Can't wait for the next one.
I like each book more, with each book the worldbuilding expands more, which I find super interesting and there's more development of both the main and secondary characters, making me love them even more.
I love that since it's a why choose romance with mates added throughout the series, there's LONGING in every book and it's so deep that it has me obsessed. And it has scorching spice, how much I have enjoyed the scenes in this book...
The plot had me hooked at all times and the crazy cliffhanger!! I need book 4 ASAP!
I’ll start by saying I try to avoid spoilers in my reviews. If you haven’t read the first two books in the Daughters of Nyx series, I highly recommend starting there! This third book, The Powers of Nyx, brings the characters and their world to life in ways fans will truly appreciate.
I love how Nyx is admired as a plus-sized, beautiful woman. Her curves are admired by those around her, but they don’t define her, something I deeply appreciate. It’s refreshing to see her confidence and complexity shine without overemphasis on her appearance.
Finally, we’re in Avalon! The new setting is rich and exciting, and I can’t wait to explore more of this world in future books. Nyx’s deep care for her sisters and loved ones is heartwarming, and her bond with Maeve was particularly enjoyable. I found myself wishing for even more interaction between them.
The alternating points of view, especially from Hawk and Orion, added so much, and I’m excited to see more of their perspectives in the next book. That said, I was left curious about Thea. Having been such a significant character earlier, her role felt minimal here, and I would have loved more focus on her. Similarly, I felt Nyx’s time with the Queen could have been expanded, it seemed like a missed opportunity for practical wisdom and insight compared to what she received at the academy.
The Powers of Nyx is an intriguing, heartfelt read, and I am looking forwards to seeing where the story goes next.
Definitely the best one yet. And we still have 2 more to go!!
This book has: ⚡️FF relationship ⚡️MF relationships ⚡️Fated Mates ⚡️SMUT ⚡️Powerful women ⚡️Fucking terrible cliffhanger lmao
Such a treat for this book to be like double the length of the others but not feel like a drag. We get political intrigue, fun, development, and so much more. Love some academy (but not too much, academy is a love hate relationship for me).
I urge you to read this series, especially if you’re a plus size person. The representation is chefs kiss.
