Brace yourself for an electrifying journey through this small town, friends to lovers romantic suspense.
I wasn't looking for love, especially not in the small mountain town where my brothers and I relocated our security firm. One look at my River of Dreams was all it took to know I'd found the other half of my soul.
She wasn't ready for me or my crazy family, so I offered friendship. When tragedy shook her very foundation, there wasn't a force on Earth that would stop me from finally making her mine.
Our road to happiness wasn't paved. It was rough, with bumps and curves to throw us off course. I was determined to overcome any obstacles in our path. Even the past dangers that lurked in the shadows, waiting for an opportunity to take her from me. There was no alternative or limit to what I'd do to keep her safe.
For being a small town, Mountain Grove for sure has a lot going on. And in the center of it seems to be River, Rico, and Sofia. Though I found the story line cute, I did find it lacking in places and hoped for more. Most of the spice seemed to be for spice sake and not for plot purposes. I did enjoy the relationship built between River and Sofia as they both healed through their childhood trauma together.
I really liked the story line of the book. It was a little overwhelming at first with all the characters and keeping track of them. Then at the end of the book I realized 3 books came before this book so that would have been helpful to know. But once I got a couple chapters in I had the characters figured out. It was a touch cheesy but still a very good storyline.
