Welcome to Brewster Falls, a nice place to bring your kids. Not have. Not raise. Bring. At its center stands a house that has witnessed three decades of silence and secrets, a testament to the eerie calm that sometimes brews beneath small towns.
Welcome to Jack Nassem Research Park, JNR for short, named for Jack Nassem by Leonard 'Lenny' Philips. A monument to the architects behind the town's transformation and a clandestine network that spans the globe, JNR is a place where the ordinary collides with the extraordinary, where the deeds of a few catch up with all in devastating ways.
Welcome to Aesteria, home of Michael, a mysterious figure with connections to the hidden truths of human history. But be warned, this is not the Michael you might expect. As the gates to Midwatch break open, revealing entities that claim to unify worlds, he and a group of disenchanted adults and disillusioned teens find themselves on a path that could alter the course of not only their lives, but of life everywhere.
Welcome to "The Garage House Kids", where the quaint town of Brewster Falls is more than just autumn leaves and quiet streets. During the Fall of 1998, four teenagers—Alice Massey, Charles 'Chuck' Horne, Cody McBeans, and Lenny's daughter Tiffany Philips—discover the secrets their home harbors stretch far beyond its borders. One of them is the linchpin of their group, a beacon of hope connected to a forgotten legacy of power.
"The Garage House Kids" is not just a tale of magic and mystery. It challenges readers to question what they know and discover the truth behind the shadows of their own world. It is a tale of ancient powers, familial legacies, and the pivotal role this group plays in a battle that spans the divide between gods and men. Fall into a narrative where the fabric of time and space is questioned, and the veil between worlds is thin.
Crafted with intricate detail and haunting suspense, "The Garage House Kids" is urban fantasy that invites readers to uncover the mysteries buried in a seemingly tranquil town where every corner holds a shadow, and every shadow tells a story. This is an invitation to understand why the world seems darker and more perilous; to read a record of the arrogance that led to the fracturing of the realms, to dive into the spaces where gods tread quietly amongst us.
Stephen King-style tension and supernatural intrigue weave through the narrative of "The Garage House Kids."
I can’t say enough good things about this book! It is unusual to say the least, well written, and so hard to put down once you really get into it! If you’re looking for something totally different, this story will take you on a fascinating journey and get your wheels turning on a unique way of thinking about life, the Universe, and the age old question of “What is the point of it all?” I’m brimming with excitement for the next book in the series!!! I highly recommend giving it a go!!
There was a lot in the beginning of this book that I did not like. I was worried it was going to have a great deal of violence towards children. And yes, it did. But it was in a way that fit with the story.
The world today is reflected in “The Garage House Kids”. Chaos, violence, madness and evil. But a small group devoted to good and growth struggles to overcome the work of the forces of Midwatch.
I couldn’t put this book down! Not since Derry, have I been so captivated by a small town, but Brewster Falls has done just that! Such a wonderful place to bring your children. Stephen Heckler has created wonderful characters, and his imagery takes hold of your imagination. I highly recommend you take a trip to the shadows. I anxiously await Mr. Hecklers next novel. -Joan Bishop
Slow at the start with some teen drama. Fair warning: the beginning isn't a feel good story and there is violence towards kids, but it serves the plot extremely well. Probably should have a warning at the beginning. However, the messaging of this book is top tier, and the fantasy aspect builds throughout. Can't wait to get the next one.
