Sanang #1.5

Spirits Merging

Rate this book
A protector
And a traveler
Their spirits merge when they meet

Sett
Short raven-black hair, a strong, masculine face, and a well-toned body. He wore an exquisitely tailored gray suit that clung to his body but was loose enough to allow for easy movement. As he walked toward the counter, I eyed him from behind my laptop. Was it him?
Hosin
He slowly breathed in and out. His warm energy wrapped around me, soothing away the pain I hadn’t realized I was carrying around. My breathing matched his as we held on to each other. And more than ever, I wanted forever with him. Forever what? Needing him so much scared me to the core. What did I want from him?

This novella is set in the Sanang world. Sanang is a K-pop group composed of five idols with special abilities that fight against dark creatures.

About the author

Arian Williams

Arian lives in the nostalgic rainy city of Seattle in the Pacific Northwest of the US with their loving partner, five adorable stuffed penguins, all with their own proper names, and one imaginary Maine Coon cat.

They began writing romance novels in high school primarily to entertain their romance reading buddies, but it soon became their hobby and passion. They've just never been confident enough until later in their life to put themself out there.

They love to live in their own head and vicariously experience the lives of their characters. How else would they be able to live half a dozen lives at once?

They're grateful for their caring partner who’s been nothing but encouraging despite them spending hours inside their head.

********** Contains Spoilers**********

I rated this novella 3.5 stars, so I rounded it up to 4 stars. I’m a new reader of Arian Williams’ work. I enjoyed this novella and thought that it was a good addition to the Sanang Series. This novella gave some answers to the questions I had at the end of book 1 and was a good setup for book two but we didn’t get to delve very deep into the main characters Sett, who was introduced in the Tasier Series and Hosin who is Sanang’s Manager but is actually so much more. They’re Atarav (soul mates) but haven’t sealed their bond. You can still follow along with the series without reading this novella. I’m looking forward to reading Saem and Wyn’s story next. I’d recommend this book and author to others.

Short story set in a Korean-based alt-world. The action jumps from detailed to cursory and back, ending in a cliffhanger. The MCs aren't heavily fleshed out, with their bond questioning. While an introduction, too confusing to trigger much interest.
