Although very US-centred, this is a good beginners book which is fair to all strands of contemporary neo-pagan thought and which has some useful material on ethics and community. A recommended introduction even for Brits.

Drawing on 10 years experience in the craft she discuss the history of modern Paganism. Covering practices, rites & rituals it is a good over all introduction.

From my perspective of 40 years in the craft it is very much simplified, however for a newcommer it would make a great introduction.

I read all but the Shamanism part because it doesn’t interest me enough to learn about it right now, but this book really helped me learn about all of the different kinds of Paganism!! Asatruar sounds like a good fit for me after reading about it because I had never heard of it before.
The book has pushed me to read more about Asatruar, practice with runes which I have obtained since reading about them in the book, and find out more about heathenry as well as Norse gods to see if that is really what I find engaging.
Overall, I’ll definitely be using this book as a reference guide, as a lot of umbrella information is contained within.
If you are interested in learning about Paganism for the first time like I am, you will not be disappointed in picking this one up!

A good primer on various religions under the label of Pagan. Each one gets a good overview of what they're about, what tools they use, what their celebration/holy days are, how those celebrations happen, etc. Also, gives good information on how you might celebrate and practice on your own, or go about finding a group that works for you to celebrate and practice your religion with.

A nice, broad introduction to the different Pagan paths. I enjoyed reading this off and on while on work breaks. Learned a little more about the boundaries and differences in the different paths of Paganism.

This book is well-structured and easy to read/understand. It is easy to find what you are looking for which is nice. It is a broad informational text, but has some nice specificity for a lot of key areas.

This is a good introductory pagan 101 book. The info in this book maybe a little dated and should be taken with a grain of salt, but good foundational information. (2020)

I have to thank my aunt Wendy for sharing this book with me. I found it to be very interesting book, and I learned quite a bit about the many different sects of Paganism. I especially loved learning more about the festivals and seeing how they are related to the holidays I celebrate. It was essentially a high level overview of the religion and the evolution of the sects. Kind of a Paganism for Dummies :)
