Rate this book
Uncover the secrets to a thriving marriage. Focusing on reconciling differences and forging true intimacy, Two Equals One emphasizes the crucial roles of communication, understanding, and concerted team effort.

Simple occasional frustrations have morphed into everyday fights causing complex fractures. Marriages are miserable, families are affected, and the equation for a marriage made one is elusive.

In Two Equals One, Jimmy and Irene Rollins introduce you to a solution that is counter-cultural to a society that encourages you to give up, to not give your spouse any more chances, or use pain as permission to step out on your spouse. A solution that with two committed people coupled with the power of God can be the equation for a marriage made one. Two Equals One presents the case to stay rather than leave. To lean in rather than let go. To give you a framework and path to discover a marriage equation of love, laughter, and longevity.

From tackling tough topics such as addiction and resentment to addressing the impact of neglecting spousal roles, Two Equals One is a comprehensive guide to strengthening and salvaging relationships, while offering practical challenges, prayers, and resources to actively engage couples.

Thank you to Goodreads giveaway for the copy of this book! I really enjoyed reading this. It had some really good nuggets in here to help you work on your marriage. I also felt like the way in which it was written was inclusive to wherever the reader may be in their marriage journey. There are things, like the check ins, the different communication styles and how to approach them and other tips that I will take with me. The book is thought provoking and I felt as though the authors were authentic in sharing the lows of their own marriage to inspire others that hope is not lost and putting in hard work can turn things around. I also liked how the authors incorporated scripture throughout and having both the husband and wife’s perspective back to back throughout each chapter was effective. I especially thought the control+alt+delete method in the last chapter was creative and also could be a very powerful tool.

Highly disappointed. I read 2 pages and determined that this is a highly Christian book dedicated to how praying and God will change your marriage. There is nothing in the description on the back saying this is Christian based - not even based - thoroughly ensconced. I'm not Christian. If it's a Christian book then say so. I felt they deliberately tried to hide this fact as the description here uses the word "prayer" once and there is no other mention of their religious beliefs. Don't try to hide that the main premise is based on a faith. Waste of money for me.

My husband and I are going through a series of marriage enrichment books. We found this one to be very rooted in the importance of unity, honesty, openness, and transparency. Looking at your past and all of your wounds that have brought in baggage into your marriage, and how to openly talk, reflect, in a loving way with respect and laying these things on the altar of Christ to build a marriage built on a rock!

Two Equals One is a must-read for anyone preparing for marriage or looking to strengthen their relationship. One of my favorite aspects of this book is that each chapter includes a challenge for you and your spouse to engage in, along with a heartfelt prayer for your partner. It’s more than just a book—it’s a guide to strengthening your relationship.⁣
