3.5 🌟 I am huge fan of the sexy alpha who is finally tamed by the right lady. Beckett and Arianne are a power couple for sure. I really loved how it was Arianne’s brain that propels Beckett’s company into the future. And that even while they are having incredibly inappropriate office shenanigans, he still respects her and knows he needs her for her intelligence, too.
This is a fun read and despite all the potential problems with dating someone in the workplace, especially one who has never had a girlfriend, there is very little angst. But there is A LOT of steam.
Overall, this is a good story, but it didn’t need 450 pages to tell it.

Felt Flat
This book just felt flat to me. I couldn’t work up any enthusiasm for their “relationship”. The whole time it just felt like he was using her because he could get his rocks off without the press making a scandal of it.

Sure, he ended up fessing up to not sticking to the bet’s terms. But not once did he think to prioritize her over the bet. I bet if she had found out about his toying with her she would not have been a happy camper.
The H put a motorcycle above care for the h. He might have been prioritizing her climaxes over his own, but he was using it for control and withholding true intimacy. I’m speaking physical and emotional. While she is risking everything, he wants a bike and a convenient s-e-x partner who won’t cause a scandal. Argue about the “he only kissed her and didn’t kiss any of his hook ups” so it was love thing.If the bet wasn’t in place it would have been pump and dump as usual. His love did not feel genuine at all.
He might have fallen in “love”, but what kind of man goes to a s-e-x club looking for a hook up after falling in love? The same day he came back from a hot and heavy trip (complete with s-e-x that same morning) with the h. It’s not like she rejected him or they called it quits.
He might not have gone through with hooking up with other people, but the intent was there. Makes one wonder if the bet held him back. His friend was a part of the same club and probably would have heard of him participating. Made me doubt any of his feelings were true. Even though the relationship progressed to being bf/gf it made me feel like it was still all about control for him. He’d never had any relationship like that before, so that was his new addiction to replace drugs/random hook ups/etc.
My doubt of his feelings and his actions are what made it fall flat for me. I did not feel his part of this love. And, no, it has nothing to do with any of the consensual acts contained in the story.

First time getting the ick from a book, that’s new

This book is Hot and Steamy!!!! Beckett is a playboy and goes thru women like crazy..Oh and he's in the public eye so everything he does in the papers. The latest one has him in some trouble.. A bet is made between friends/business partners and while Beckett is totally on board with it, fate plays its hand and temptation enters his building and his office. Arianne, is a tough and smart. She knows her way around a board room. She knows what works and what doesn't. She gets hired on with Beckett and Rhys, she starts living for herself. You see she's been burned by an ex and family member. It turned her off dating and relationships. Beckett makes a game out of it though and boy does this just add to how much they want each other. These little games of foreplay makes them even hotter for each other. It takes a lot for Beckett to gain the trust of Arianne though. She has been in this position before and it didn't go well. He has to prove that he is different and truly cares about her for her. This makes for even some sweet moment between them. I love how excited Arianne gets over the littlest things but to be honest in the circumstances, I'd be pretty giddy to meet them as well. Arianne and Beckett have an explosive connection! It does so happen that karma has a wicked way of changing things for Arianne and making them even stronger! This was such a sweet and steamy book with characters you will love and hate!!!

First book from this author for me and it was a nice experience- it’s a billionaire, office romance, the story of Arianne & Beckett.
Editing-wise it needed some work, there were a few small mistakes but they weren’t very annoying.
Arianne had potential but disappointed me. She went against her “beliefs” way too soon- not very smart choice for someone who is supposed to be so clever. We also see her acting like an idiot towards the end, so I can’t say I’m very impressed by her.
Beckett is basically a sex addict and apparently a genius for achieving so much at such a young age without any studies. 🤔 I didn’t like that there was too much focus on his sex drive, when, as the story progresses, we see he is so much more that just that. It was unfair to him because he was supportive, admired her brains, and looked after her since she didn’t have much experience.
But overall, it had a nice flow and I enjoyed it. Given the chance, I’ll read the next one.

Stopped reading at 32%. Too much "she's not like other girls" talk. There is so much slut shaming. The MFC is supposed to be smart and not like other girls and is also "innocent"/naive like...? Not for me.

This book was headed to a 4 star rating until the last 9 percent. I enjoyed the premise, the characters, the romantic tension, the sexual chemistry between the characters and the pacing of the story. This story was enjoyable and kept me engaged throughout, needing to know what happens next.
Spoilers ahead:
The romance is ruined at 91 percent. I could not get past the FMC accusing the MMC of falling for her cousin's manipulative ways. I understand the FMC has had a lifetime of her cousin "stealing" her boyfriends and I would have accepted this kneejerk reaction in lots of circumstances.
In this book, however, not only did the MMC text her AND his business partner to come see him immediately, but the FMC also arrived on scene to cops, security and a scene described as being like "from a movie." The FMC is worried something awful has happened because there is so much law enforcement on the premises and all employees have been ordered to stay where they are at. She enters the MMC's office and sees her cousin handcuffed and, again, there are officers in the office. And, with her brilliant mind, she tells the MMC she doesn't need to hear anything and he can have her cousin if he wants. What?!?? And she says this because her cousin is barely dressed and he said something about getting to know her cousin and she's a heck of a woman. For someone so smart, you are telling me she couldn't pick up on all the context clues that point to her cousin trying something and the MMC calling the police? Why would he have sex with her cousin and then summon her AND his business partner to his office? Why would he call the police? Why would he have police/security stationed throughout the building (as she noted on her way to the office?) She really thought he had sex with her cousin and called her, his business partner, his security team, the police, EMTs and firefighters to all witness him telling her he wants to breakup and be with her cousin? This is too stupid to forgive. And insulting. After all the MMC and FMC had experienced together, she didn't even take one second to think that maybe he DIDN'T have sex with her cousin? ESPECIALLY given the fact she was in cuffs and surrounded by police in the MMC's office, with hordes of police and security throughout the building?
Unfortunately, for me, this ruined the romance, as I did not believe the FMC deserved the MMC at that point. What she accused him of, given the information she had, was unforgivable. It would be like if my house was being ransacked, the cops showed up and arrested the criminal, I contacted my husband and told him to hurry home, he shows up, he sees all the cops, he sees the criminal in cuffs, he sees the house is a mess and then he turns to me and asks me what I was thinking since it is obvious I destroyed the house. THAT'S what the FMC does to the MMC. This is a great book except for this major misstep, so if you can get past the FMC being an idiot (when she's supposed to be brilliant), I recommend it. Otherwise, skip it.

If you’re in the mood for a steamy, laugh-out-loud office romance with a total bad boy who falls hard for the smart girl, this one’s for you! Beckett is a former rockstar turned billionaire CEO who has an “I don’t do relationships” energy. Then Arianne walks into his life, she’s clever, driven, and not here for any of his nonsense. Of course, that just makes their chemistry even better! Arianne and Beckett are such a fun mix! I loved how Arianne’s brains really make an impact at Beckett’s company! Even though things get steamy real quick, there are also some surprisingly sweet moments between them! Beckett is cocky at first, but you can tell he truly respects her and falls hard! Their flirty banter had me smiling the whole time!

I really enjoyed this book! I’m also obsessed with the narrators. Troy never misses when narrating, and I just discovered Tara — I can’t wait to explore more of her work. This was a brilliant audiobook in duet narration.
Starting with Arianne — she’s a spitfire and so much fun. The attitude and confidence she brings, especially in a business sense, was fantastic. But she also had doubts and insecurities when it came to herself and with intimate scenes, shaped by a past relationship. Her character had great depth.
Beckett was cocky and flirty. He knew women fell at his feet, but the chemistry between him and Arianne was delicious. Their back-and-forth, especially the whole panty fiasco, had me screaming. He really brought Arianne out of her shell.
This is more of a character-driven story, and the spice absolutely hit.
This was my first Scarlett Avery book — and it won’t be my last.

This is the longest goody two shoes book. A lot of things could have been said in one chapter. This is one series I have had enough of already. It's not that good. I guess the sitting at home during the pandemic caused you to string a lot of words together in your head that came out. The person that edited this book was brave to put his/her name on it because it has lot of unnecessary errors.

I had a lot of fun reading this one! I enjoy a bad boy falling for the good girl. I LIVE for workplace romances and intelligent women. But I fully love seeing people grow into their most confident selves. And having someone help them be the best they can be, in a good way. With reassurance and patience. And I think both Beckett and Ari did that with one another. It was steamy, and the anticipation of certain events really was lovely(hot). Easy and fun. And not your typical angst ending.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
Our first encounter is a disaster. He blames me for the mechanical failure. Okay, he might be right, but I'm unwilling to concede. As the minutes tick by, he decides to put the moves on me. Seriously? We're trapped in the dark, in an elevator, suspended in mid-air in a shaft, and he's flirting? Beckett-that's his name-is a presumptuous and arrogant bastard. So what if his deep, sexy voice turns my insides to the consistency of molten, chocolate lava cake? This isn't the time or the place, Casanova. To shut him up, I tell him off. When the nightmare is finally over, I clack my designer high heels on the floor, and dash off without so much as a goodbye. I'm forced to eat my words when I step into a life-changing meeting-slash-interview, and I'm face-to-face with the man I thought I'd never see again. He's my new billionaire mogul boss-slash-client? Arianna is a very proper and conservative girl who in business is probably a match for Beckett in that regard But she finds herself stuck in a elevator with a guy names Beckett. At first he is all fire by blaming her for the elevator getting stuck, then flirting his butt off, like she would ever!!! How dare he right? Well little does she know that soon she is going to have a interview and that interview puts her right in the path of Beckett!! You shouldn't date the owner of a company ever she thinks but she also can not deny the attraction she feels for Beckett. Beckett, the never more than one night with a woman guy even has to admit that he has it bad for Arianna and is out to prove her you should never date the boss theory wrong? Can she turn him into a one woman kind of man and can he get her to see that dating the boss is never a bad idea? You have to read to find out but I thought it was a really great read that takes you away from the world for a little while. I liked both Beckett and Riley and the story they had to tell.

This story was fun, amusing and hella hot!

When it turns out that she is the new consultant for his company, for a one-and-done guy, Beckett is finding it increasingly difficult to keep his desire under control. Let the games begin!

Holy smokin' Beckett! He was almost an unstoppable force. An out-and-out manwhore, Arianne is nothing like the easy women he usually goes for. Not only is she naturally and stunningly beautiful, she's also incredibly smart. I loved how hard he had to work for her attention. Arianne is pretty sweet and vanilla - she has a tendency to blush a lot! I loved how Beckett drew out her inner vixen. He was actually pretty sweet with her - bolstering her confidence and spelling out his desire for her very clearly. I loved how he broke all his own rules for her. I liked that this was a low angst read as Beckett might enjoy sex games, but he had no intention of playing with Arianne's heart. An all-round fun, super sexy read, and I'm looking forward to Rhys' book!

Sweet and fun. Love the characters their story, background and how everything evolves will have you swooning for them. Definitely an interesting read that is totally worth it. Is a must.

I love revisiting the guys of Random Misconception. This one is where we see Beckett Christensen loose a very interesting bet. He needs to abstain from women for a month and in exchange he will get his business partner's vintage motorcycle. That's just when SHE gets stuck Ina dark elevator with him and his whole world just might change. Arianne Buchanan is finding her way back to normal after a world shattering break up with her ex. She has no time for men or anything to do with them. Her being trapped in a dark elevator with a slick talking man is so not in her plans. These two have some wild moments as friends that most couples never achieve. I adore how Beckett finally finds someone he values more than himself and is own needs. The challenge that was put forth makes him think about different ways to whoo a woman, something he has really never done before. Arianne is stepping in a totally different direction herself. Her experience is limited but she wants so much more with Beckett. The characters we only meet later in the book have a huge impact on them in different ways but bring them so much closer together.

• the writing was very cringe at times, especially with all the exclamations and the ?! after so many sentences
• I did love Beckett but also I wish he was more *broody*
• I am not ok with using ‘damp’ in any sex scene
• there’s a lot of slut-shaming which was not fun to read
