Doug Everly was born and grew up in Morgantown, West Virginia, where he still resides today. His works all take place in his home state, with interconnecting characters and events. He began writing short stories and poems in elementary school, then focusing on a full-length novel throughout junior high and high school. That was never completed, however, and during his senior year, Doug turned his attention to writing poems and song lyrics.
He attended West Virginia University, graduating in 2002. Throughout his days at WVU, Doug rediscovered his love for prose writing. By the time of his graduation, he had completed two novellas and over twenty short stories.
He is currently finishing his fifth novella and within the next year, Doug plans to complete the second book of a fantasy trilogy.
