Don't judge a book by its cover, I avoided picking up this book for years and since I had to read a mystery for school, I finally decided to read it. The book is organized where every chapter has a different Mystery. Mr. Boddy has invited his six best friends over for the weekend. Miss Scarlet, Mr. Green, Colonel Mustard, Mrs. White, Professor Plum, and Mrs. Peacock are all suspects of the cases at Mr. Boddy's house just like n the board game. My favorite of the ten mysteries was the case of who stole Mr. Green's suitcase. Most all of the guests arrive with valuables. After the guest switch their identical suitcases around the question is who has Mr. Green's million dollar worth items. With all of the mysteries being interesting, my biggest question is why these seven people are spending the weekend together? They are all out to kill and Rob each other!

Oh bringing back the days of my childhood. Another book I found in the cheap used pile at the bookshop. Very short stories involving uncomplicated logic puzzles to determine who killed Mr. Boddy, or stole the suitcase, or drank the poison, or whatever. Great fun for me (clearing out the fuzz from academic work, ok?!), and if you have a 2, 3, 4th grader at home they might love the intrique and general silliness. Can't help but picture Tim Curry and the rest of the movie cast in these stories and thus they become even more entertaining. Fabulous!

I loved these books as a kid, and I think it's kind of sad that they're so obscure now. Loosely based on the Clue board game, this chapter book series portrays each of the six suspects as a caricature that may seem overly absurd to an adult reader, but hilarious to a child who appreciates slapstick comedy and surface-level jokes. As in Encyclopedia Brown books, each chapter is a mini-mystery for the reader to solve, but I always thought that thesse were a little easier than Enyclopedia Brown. Often, it's just process of elimination, or remembering which character was holding which weapon.

If I could, I'd give this four and a half stars. As far as literary quality goes, it's more like a two or three, but it gets big bonus points for its entertainment value and skilled use of juvenile humor.

These are so fun to read! I love the puns and witty writing that gives the characters their different personalities. There were only two mysteries in this one that tripped me up a bit mainly because I didn't pay close enough attention.

My 9 year old self would have had a great time with these books! I wish I could go back in time and read them as a kid. It would have helped me to pick out context clues and reading comprehension a lot better. I would have paid better attention and remembered important details while reading. It probably would have pushed me to want to read more, which I didn't do much of growing up.

I'm still thrilled that I've rediscovered this series, but this one was pretty awful. The mysteries were lame and the humor was definitely lacking, and even the solutions were written as if the author had lost interest.

I do wish my library had more of these, however, as the last one I read really was great.

The mysteries are well-done and solvable. The characters are stereotypes, as is to be expected, and the humor is appropriate for the age level (grades 3-5). If you're looking for some short, solvable, who-done-its, this is a solid choice.

"Cloning Around" and "The Late Mr. Boddy" were my favorites.
Also "Bad Taste" has a lingering effect. 😂

I love the fact that Mr.Boddy and his frenemies are just overgrown children acting silly when having a mansion sleepover.

A very funny little children's book! Despite being a bit too young for me, I really enjoyed solving the mysteries!

Clue is a mystery book writen by A.E parker. I read this book over 2 times and enjoyed every bit of it. It is a very interesting book which I honestly liked and advise all my freinds to read. It talkes about Mr. boddy that invites his closest freinds over to his mansion. Many weird stuff happen when his freinds meet. They are six freinds professor plum,Mr. Green,Colonel Mustard,Miss Scarlet,MRS. peacock and MRS. White. MRS. white works for Mr. boddy. The day after they all settled down they heard about a cat burgular which robs peoples money.
One of Mr. boddy's freinds helped the burgular open the safe which contained all his private Belongings. The rest is up to you to figure out I wouldn't want to ruin the book for you.
I honstly enjoyed the book and hope another edition will come out soon.

I remembered my reading obsession with the Clue Series in late elementary school and felt that it was time to return to these silly little books. Now revisiting them as an adult, I find them to still be a fun, all be it easy, read. The short story mysteries do make you actively think and problem solve, while the humor is so corny it's actually adorable and endearing. In fact, I probably appreciate some of the jokes and descriptions more now.

The Clue series is simple, silly fun, and a great read for all ages.

I think these books are so fun and the games are just brilliant. I love playing Clue, but when you live in a house where only two people are old enough to play it makes me kind of sad. SO when I found these books, I was quite happy. It felt like I was playing clue all by myself. I love the mystery, some of them are actually quite difficult.

But poor Mr. Body, he almost dies like, all the time.

I wish there was more. Or even a TV series that's kind of interactive. I'm just rambling now, but it would just be so much fun. I wish there was more, more I say!

I read this book when I was in elementry school. The series masterfully captures the excitment and thrills of the board game as well as the humor of the classic 80's movie. I spent many nights not watching "Saved by the Bell" or the original "90210" to just simply get away and figure out WHO did WHAT, WHEN and WHERE.

Continues the string of clever, clever books. One of the top five in the series. Particularly when the cat burglar knocks them all out and captures them. :)

It's too bad I gave my copy of the book to a girl I was dating, and now I'll never get it back. :(

The characters are fun and entertaining throughout the book. There is tons of humor that kept me thoroughly entertained as a child. I love whodunit books and trying to figure out the various mysteries and this collection of tales certainly doesn’t disappoint.
