They swore I would fall for their depravity, and I told myself I could resist… I lied.
Stealing from the three most infamous, cold-hearted devils of the Skull and Serpent Society was risky, but I needed it more than them. I had only one goal in mind—to survive.
Running away is what I do best. But nothing makes my heart beat faster than being hunted by Silas Rivera, Heath Preston, and Max Fletcher. They're out of their minds insane, and they love nothing more than a wicked chase.
I robbed them of everything they cared for, and in turn they set their inner demons loose on me. To atone for my sin, I must become theirs.
Their depraved games and twisted demands are slowly warping my mind until all that's left is the unhinged desire for more. More of their filth. More of their murderous habits. Until I'm willing to lay down my soul... And I manage to steal the one thing they never wanted to give—their hearts.

"Have they broken me so quickly?"
Each time I read a Clarissa Wild book I fall in love more and more. She is one of my favorite Dark Romance authors so I legit SCREAMED when this landed on my kindle!! Clarissa just knows how to write the twists, the darkness and obviously the smut so well and "Boys We Hunt" is no exception. I absolute love the "Spine Ridge University" world and this new installment was absolutely *chef's kiss*. I will be thinking about Max, Heath, Silas and Ivy for the foreseeable future people!! 🖤🖤🖤
"Desperation tastes so sweet from your lips. Give in, little thief"
And you know me and my playlists have no end so these are the songs I added to the absolute AMAZING playlist Clarissa Wild already made for us:
EXCERPT: The door slams open, and my eyes burst open along with it. I hold my breath as someone steps into the bathroom and closes the door behind them. I immediately pull both feet up on the toilet seat and make myself as tiny as possible. “Ivy …” It’s him. “Oh, Ivy …” His unsettling, dark voice brings chills to my spine. “Come out, come out, wherever you are …” WHAM! A door two down from me is knocked open so harshly I nearly squeal, and I cover my mouth with my hand to stop him from hearing anything. “I’m going to fucking find you, one way or another …” WHAM! The next door is kicked open, and when I peer through the tiny slit between the two stalls, a shoe retracts. My door is next. What the fuck do I do? “And when I do, you’re gonna be mine.” His? This fucker is insane! I have to find something, anything, to defend myself with when he gets ahold of me. I turn around, gripping the old, nonfunctional water pipe behind me that’s bound to break eventually, and the moment his shoe lands against the door, I rip off the piece. The door flies open, and his unhinged smile makes my veins burst with fear and disgust. “Found you.” The second he lunges at me, I swing the pipe at his face, but he blocks and grips the metal. “Can’t hit me, twig. I’m quicker than you,” he growls, and he tries to pry the pipe right out of my hand. “What the fuck do you want from me?” “What do I want?” He laughs maniacally. “Your life.” “Get away from me!” With the pipe between us, I push him out of the stall, forcing him back against the sink, but all it does is make him smile and laugh even harder. “What the fuck is wrong with you?” “What’s wrong with me?” he mocks. “Maybe you should ask yourself that question.” “I didn’t do anything,” I say. I know I’m lying, but I’m not going to admit the truth to the likes of him. Clutching the pipe hard, he leans in with a tilted head as he stares at me. “You missing a hearing aid, thief?” He looks me dead in the eyes, and the toxic smirk on his face makes me gulp. Oh fuck. Suddenly, he inches forward and bites the air right in front of my nose, making me jolt back. Another sadistic laugh follows. “You don’t know who you’re messing with.” He pushes me back with ease as if all this time he was letting me believe I could take him, that I was in control of the pipe that separates his hungry teeth from my skin. “You stole from me,” he growls. “I don’t take that lightly. You will pay. Whether it’s in cash … or with skin.” Skin?! What the— He pushes me all the way to the wall, and it knocks the air out of my lungs as I’m pinned between him and the pipe. Nowhere to go. No way out. His face inches closer, green eyes nearly boring a hole into my heart. “Now … how should I make you pay for your crime?” His breath leaves hot marks on my skin. “With blood?” he whispers. His tongue, wet and dripping with hunger, licks a trail from my neck to my ear. “Or with fear?”
This was an unexpectedly fun and fast read. Yes, it's 700+ pages, but I burned through this in one night, all save for the last chapter. I appreciate that the author specifies in her disclaimer that the book is heavy on the spice, or else I may have felt a little bogged down by the excessive scenes. Going into it, knowing it was going to be that way, made me less inclined to be critical of how frequently they went at it and just enjoy the ride of them being insatiable psychos.
Was some of the dialogue cringe? Sure. Did the smut scenes get a bit ridiculous? Yeah. Were the dudes unrealistically competent for their age and skill level sometimes? Of course. But this was still so entertaining that it didn't really take away from the draw of the book in general. It was exactly what I expected out of a dark romance, reverse harem novel.
The only note I'd make, is that yes this is a standalone and doesn't need the previous books to be read to enjoy it, BUT with how frequently family and past characters are brought up, and how confusing it is to know who is related to whom, I'd definitely read the first books before this one. I didn't, and I found the family scenes confusing and boring, and as we have a couple of them heavily at the end of the book, they did bring down the conclusion of the novel for me. The cliffhanger was solid, though, and will definitely have me interested in the next book in the series.
I wish I could give lower. It felt like something I read on Wattpad in middle/high school back when there wasn’t much experience with adult activities. There was no real story to build up to nor did half the story/world make sense. The “tough guys” acting like vigilantes and cool? Very lack luster. Just so many situations in the first half that don’t seem to really work or make sense or be a proper reaction. No explanations. No real sense. No understanding. Just degrading her and they’re acting hard? I struggled to get almost to half way. And that’s pretty rare for me. So yeah. DNF big time.
I really enjoyed this book, BUT I have to admit it’s my least favorite of the four in the series—so instead of 4.5 stars, it gets 4.25 (sorry!). > But it’s worth more than 4 stars if that makes sense lol.
To me, this book felt less dark compared to the other three, though that might be because I read the other ones almost a year ago, and my memory isn’t the greatest.
What I found absolutely GENIUS were the parents’ names (and that ending!). I was giggling SO hard. But it wasn’t all laughter—I screamed, and even shed a little tear while reading.
And the romance… Don’t get me started on the romance in this book, because IT WAS THERE in all its glory 🥹✨. (I couldn’t believe this either while reading, but just trust me on this one).
The spice? Oh, it was SPICING, and the plot was strong too. Clarissa truly knows how to balance the two.
All in all, I HIGHLY enjoyed this book and am ridiculously excited for the next three in the series!
Also, HOW does this woman keep bringing the Bones Brotherhood back without fail? Clarissa, you are truly God’s gift to earth!
*I received this book in exchange for an honest review.*
This was what I hoped for. I've read Sick, Evil and Vile boys so I had been WAITING for this book. I was so excited when Clarissa announced it and now that I've read it, I can tell you this: The excitement was deserved. This book is everything we love about Spine Ridge U: Unh!nged MMC's, a storyline with some mystery, violence and all that good fictional stuff. And of course...spice, Clarissa style.
FYI: I don't think I can pick a favourite out of the MMC's. They all have something. The FMC is a badass. She has her reasons for doing what she does and that all get's explained eventually. I liked that storyline!
The cliffy in the epilogue thought?..CLARISSA!! How could you do this to us? 😜
Love it to be honest. Can't wait for the next book!
I was completely obsessed with this book! I am so happy that we finally are able to get back in this world. And oh my oh my Clarissa did it again. The filthy mouths of these boys and then especially Heath and Silas 🥵 Chapter 42 was just something else the spice was spicing 🌶️ And I absolutely loved the badass FMC. But Clarissa how dare you to leave us behind with a ending like this😭😭😭😭 I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED 😭
I loved this after reading Sick boys I was kinda iffy about Clarissa Wild but this book redeemed that.It gave plot, spice, and banter. The fmc Ivy wasn't overly annoying I mean yea she did some questionable things but it didn't deter my reading experience. The guys I'll go in order from my favorite Max he was such a golden retriever but still had edge to him I loved how sweet and kinda shy he was.Heath I fear is exactly my type dominant covered in tattoos and piercings and a bit unhinged in my head he looks like jjk Toji except with better hair.Silas I really thought he would be my type at first but it was a miss for me he just didn't give likeable bad boy vibes to me and his obsession with blood was a little overwhelming.I also enjoyed that we got to see the relationship between Heath and Max blossom unlike in sick boys where it kinda just never addressed what happened between Dylan and Alistair. On to the spice five star things happened that I've never read before like I know they happen but this the first time I've read them. What really got me was the pool table scene I will never look at pool balls and a cue stick the same ever again. The next book doesn't drop til November and I am so excited to read it.
Mannnnn the way I had to remember this crazy ass family tree lol . I love how this follows everyone’s kids from the earlier books and yet it’s the same amount of crazy if not more . I guess the whole like father like son quote is def the most accurate in this series 🤣 .
I love this series for the simple fact that none of the fmc’s are ever weak . They are all smart asses that will never take shit unless it’s the role of being the smutty submissive that we adore 😉.
Don’t even get me started on Silas, Heath and Max . I love how the 3 mmcs are always the socio/psychopath , the misunderstood and the golden retriever . I never know who I love the most . In the famous words of Katherine from vampire diaries “it’s okay to love them both” or all atp lol.
That fucking cliffhanger tho ? Omg I was not prepared and shit really gonna get crazy next book!
Clarissa Wild wrote yet another utterly unhinged dripping "Why Choose " book !! I need to go pray before bed.
Welcome to the next generation with a bang. Silas is an unhinged serial killer who just lusts for blood the devil incarnate. (Yummy) Heath is utterly amazing, such a banter king that hides his emotions but Wow, can he give a girl a good time. Max is the adorable, reliable type but do not underestimate him.
The plot was fantastic just as the other books were. I'm not giving anything away other than silas tries to train a cat the most random ways it will have u laughing out loud. The next minute these men will have u so hot under the collar the things they do to ivy is epic utterly unhinged dripping hotness.
Now run, little thief, and let me show you what a pitch-black soul looks like.” little snippet here wow 👌
Wow, this book was by far my favorite in the series, I absolutely loved all the boys, Max may or may not be my favorite but I like that the fmc was from a different background and how much more harsher the next generation was. I truly enjoyed this!
Once again Clarissa has sucked me in with this OTT series. The harem boys as usual are all their own brand of 🦇 💩 crazy and the book was a whole lotta fun to read 😆.
This was my first book by Clarissa and I WASN’T READY! 😂 It reminded me a bit of Rina Kent’s books with the college secret society and the parents being so understanding of their children’s unique ways.
I really enjoyed the ride that this book took me on. The Spice was SPICING 🥵 and I loved the relationship between all four of them but especially Max and Heath.
The banter was so funny and I fell in love with Silas our little psycho. The CRAZY shiz they put Ivy through was unlike anything I have read and even with all the spice the plot was really good. I genuinely had no idea what secrets Ivy held or what secrets the boys were working through.
Absolutely loved this book and was so grateful to read it early. I cannot wait to dive into more of Clarissa’s books!
When Clarissa announced she was doing a second generation of the SRU series I was absolutely over the moon with excitement as I devoured the entire series and I honestly didn’t want it to end and now with the release of this book and 4 more more we are truly being spoiled. And the Boys Who Hunt was the absolute perfect start to the series👏🏼 Clarissa is a go to dark romance author for myself 🖤
This book follows Ivy Clarke, Silas Rivera (Penelope & Felix’s child), Heath Preston (Crystal & Caleb’s child) and Max Fletcher (Lana & Milo’s child).
Now the one person who caught my eye here was definitely Silas because of his father Felix, and while Felix does pop up in this book and he most certainly doesn’t lose his authority with his age but my god Silas was definitely a lot more intense 😮💨 Heath as well had such a darkness to him which drew me in, while Max is my absolute sweetheart. Max definitely takes after his father Milo and what I mean by this is that he fell head over heels for Ivy just like Milo did for Lana👏🏼
Now what I love about Clarissa’s books is she writes strong FMCs, which is very needed for the MMCs that they face in each of the books and Ivy is absolutely no exception to this. The fight against the MMCs is always the part that makes them want more. Ivy is such a strong woman and she will do absolutely anything to protect those who she loves, even by putting herself at the mercy of Silas Rivera👀
Also can I just add Bagel the cat had me absolutely cackling especially when it came to his interactions with Silas 😂
This is a dark romance so I would highly suggest checking your TWs but if you’ve read the first generation series you are definitely in for such a treat. I was so glad to be diving back into this universe and yes we do see the parents in quite a few moments with their kids and this warmed my heart as while they are getting older they certainly haven’t lost anything, especially Lana😂
I am keeping this review spoiler free as not to ruin the experience but this book is pact with twists and turns that had my jaw dropped like no tomorrow and of course it has plenty of delicious moments🫶🏼 Also, while this book is a standalone the epilogue does set up who we think the next book is going to be about and damn I did not expect it to go like that. I was just sitting there staring into space for a good 10 minutes after I finished😫
Just an FYI we are provided with a family tree so you are able so see which kids belong to which parents👏🏼
Thank you so much to the author who provided this e-arc for my honest thoughts💭
The second generation of Spine Ridge University is upon us🙌
Silas, Heath and Max are a part of the Skull and Serpent Society on campus. When it appears someone has stolen from them, they are on the hunt immediately, trying to discover who is bold enough to steal from them🤷♀️
Ivy is a thief, but she has her reasons. That is until she gets caught in the depraved webs of Silas and Heath😉 Oh and Max…he’s completely different to how expected but no less depraved in certain ways☺️
Some very steamy encounters, action packed and cameos from old favourites too❣️ That ending…oh boy🙈 I look forward to whatever is coming our way…I received an advanced copy and voluntarily leave my honest review😳
If I could go lower than a star on here I would. This book was horrible. I had to continually push myself just to finish it. The author is obsessed with the words clavicle and mouth hole. Also, doesn’t seem to be aware that cousins are in fact related. They are family which means one is related to the other. Even if it is cousins.. I just couldn’t with this book and I don’t understand why so many like these books. I will not be reading anymore.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Overall Opinion : When I got to know that Calrissa was writing the second generation for her one of my most fav set of characters , I was so freaking excited! Ivy , Max , Heath and Silas have the best tale ever.
This one is a standalone with a lot of triggering scenes in it. The author is not kidding, she says that one should go through the trigger list before picking up her book. This book has Felix’s son so I knew we will have a lot of crazy lmao and I was right! Apart from the story being great and keeping me hooked till the very end , there was one thing I was looking forward to too , that was character cameos! And we had plenty of them! I was so glad to see my fav characters grow up into amazing people and then to see that they still had the same spark that they had in their books? That was the best feeling.
Ivy and her men have some crazy chemistry and even though their path to the happy ending they needed was not easy at all , I was glad they made it. There are some characters from this book that I think might get their own book in the future?? I sure hope so!
Definitely recommending this one to all the dark romance loving people out there.
If you loved the Spine Ridge series, then prepare yourself because Boys Who Hunt delivers everything you loved about that dark, twisted world and turns it up a notch with the next generation of depraved, obsessive students.
Ivy thought she was only stealing material things, but what she really stole were the hearts of three dangerous men—Silas, Heath, and Max. Each of them becomes consumed by her in their own way, but Silas stands apart. A man who has never known anything except violence and the urge to kill suddenly finds himself feeling something far more terrifying: obsession.
The chemistry between Ivy and the boys is dark, addictive, and completely unhinged. They treat her like their personal toy, pushing boundaries while Ivy desperately clings to secrets that threaten to destroy everything when they finally come to light. The tension, possessiveness, and twisted devotion kept me turning pages long into the night.
This book is packed with morally gray characters, dangerous desires, and enough obsession to satisfy any dark romance reader. Watching these broken characters collide was both chaotic and impossible to look away from. If you’re looking for a dark, spicy, emotionally intense romance filled with secrets, obsession, and a cast of beautifully damaged characters, Boys Who Hunt is a must-read.
If you want a book with SPICE that is SPICING, stop your search this is THE book for you 🌶️
As my first ever dark romance, *Boys Who Hunt* by Clarissa Wild was an intense ride I’ll never forget! I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book, and while it took me a bit to settle into the dark and twisted world the author created, I was completely intrigued the entire time.
It took me a bit to get used to the darkness but the characters kept pulling me in. The pacing was a bit slow at times, which is why I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5, but overall, it’s a gripping and addictive read.
Now, let’s talk about Silas! Out of the three men, he was hands-down my favorite. There’s just something about a cold-blooded killer who’s afraid of a cat. Watching him train the cat to do tricks was such a hilarious and unexpected contrast to his usual deadly persona, and when he falls, he falls HARD. I couldn’t help but root for his stone cold heart to warm up.
If you’re looking for a dark romance that pushes boundaries, keeps you on the edge of your seat, and has unforgettable characters, this is definitely worth the read! I’ll be thinking about this book for a long time.
Would I recommend this book? Hell yeah!!! Would I recommend this book as your first dark romance book? Maybe start with a different one lol 🤭
I’m a sucker for a second gen series so you know I ate this up. The plot was dark and twisty, though a bit too similar to the first trilogy. Still it was fun, chaotic, and deliciously smutty.
Max was adorable and so sweet and impossible not to love. I shipped him and Ivy instantly. Silas drove me insane for most of the book, but of course he eventually softened and won me over. Heath had some cringe moments but grew on me around the halfway mark. Ivy was so fierce and I loved how she would do anything for her sister. She has gone through hell and she deserves the world. I loved them all together so much and the way they all learned sign language for her aww my heart.
Overall I enjoyed this and excited to see where the series goes especially after that cliffhanger.
Themes: Enemies to Lovers, Bully Romance, Reverse harem with MM ⚔️, Dark Romance
I devoured this book! The story behind Ivy and all of her previous trauma and her being the primary caretaker for Cora makes her character stand out against the others. The book opens with her stealing from the boys ( Heath, Silas, & Max) and the reason isn’t clear until later in the book. The mystery behind why she so desperately needs money leaves you page turning throughout trying to find the reason.
Each of the guys were different personality wise. The harem had just the right mix of mean, loving, fun, and crazy. This book had a good bit of mystery, drama, bully, and overall just dark. It was such a good combination. I can’t wait to read the next book. What an ending!
Silas Rivera, Max Fletcher, Heath Preston and Ivy Clark. A deadly combination 💞
Silas Rivera is just like his father Felix. He is lucky to have a mother like Penelope. Trigger: has knife and blood kink ⚠️ Max Fletcher is calm, caring and loving. Heath Preston is the eldest among the 3 and also have similar behavior to Silas.
Now comes the FMC, Ivy Clark. She is a thief. She stole from these devils and in turn they decide to make her their toy and punish her. At a point she too falls in love with their wickedness, so do the boys.
The plot was nice but slow at some points. Silas was overshadowed until almost 50-60% of the book. After finishing the book, he is still the one who will be remembered first when you hear Boys Who Hunt ❤️🔥❤️🔥
But, I would like to ask the author, WHAT THE HELL WAS THE ENDING????? 😡😡😭😭
Side Note: I loved Ivy's neighbor too - she was so nice and effortlessly funny 😅😅
