This series honestly keeps getting better and better! I love how Keepers of Darkness picked up right where the first one left off. It was complete chaos in the best way, and it kept getting more intense as the story went on. I absolutely loved how questions I've had from the first book were being answered, and I didn't expect this at all to go in the direction it's going in. This is by far one of the more unique apocalypse/Rapture stories I've read.

I'm super excited for the next installment, which I will definitely be reading! I highly recommend this series if you love apocalyptic-type horror.

Ok, see…D.R. Kane was setting us up in the first book. If you read The Makers of Darkness and thought it was dark…you ain't seen nothin’ yet! When I tell you The Keepers of Darkness is another level of nightmare fuel, I'm not joking. The creatures got creepier, the atmosphere got darker (if that's even possible), all combined to transport you to the depths of Hell on Earth. Also, the pace feels a little faster with more encounters with entities and a general feeling of full-blown apocalyptic chaos.

In this story, we're following our three original parties, one new pair of escaped inmates and an entity known as the dark preacher. Honestly, I could have happily spent the duration of the story with Ken and Loki (because dog, duh) and Jeff and Kara - I was most invested in these two groups - but the other three still brought their fair share of chaos to the mix.
