The Hunter follows an experienced serial killer during his 'cleansing' of Mary Beth, a waitress from a small town. A thrilling tale of murder, the story is told from the killer's point of view, as he stalks and captures his victim and carries out his now all too familiar ritual.
"There's something always a little bit frightening about the serial killers who never get caught at the end; it leaves you on the edge of your seat and wanting more," Laura states.
"I was watching a cop show on TV one night when this story came to me - it took just 24 hours to write; I felt like I knew him and he'd been waiting to come out. I wanted it to be his latest kill, rather than his first or last; to show his calm expertise in his killing ritual."
5* "Brilliant! I love this author already and can see big things coming from them, completely different style than "Danny boy" and a much darker subject! Hoping for more!"
5* "What a great story, well written and I couldn't stop reading until I reached the end. All I can say is I look forward to reading the next one!"
"Wow, I also have a serial killer in my book, and I’m not an expert or anything, but I think you did an amazing job of getting into his head! I look forward to reading the rest of the series and the ghost novel once you upload it."

I began writing as a hobby when I was still at school. Always very shy I never let a soul read any of my stories and sadly I have lost all of my note books and discs from back then so I can't salvage any of my young self's work!
In Autumn of 2012 I began thinking about a book which I tried to dismiss - after all it had been around a decade since I'd last allowed myself write anything. But this idea would not go away and so Danny Boy was born.
Apprehensively, I gave a copy to my parents to read - they were so encouraging that I found a way to publish it and got some lovely reviews. Since then I have published a further three short stories and am currently working on two new stories as well as editing my first paperback!
If you love to write then go ahead and write away; don't tell yourself it's silly or no good. I'm glad I stopped listening to my inner pessimist!
This type of perspective appeals to me a lot. The story of a serial killer and the reasons why he commits his crimes, the way he can justify it to himself, is a very interesting idea. I enjoyed the story and found the character of the Hunter to be believable. However, I would have liked to see his personality and background developed a little deeper. When I finished I found myself wanting to know more about this man and how his past had such a profound effect on him.
In other words, a good and entertaining read - I just wanted more!
I really enjoyed this little book. I actually wasn't sure what the Hunter would be. I almost half expected a vampire or something like that. In the short amount of time it takes to read this book, you get a quick glimpse into the life of the Hunter and the one he hunts. You can see the intensity of his personality right away! Great little book! Well written!
