I enjoyed this reminder of the first part of season two of the Mandalorian. I had all the important parts of the TV series.

Din Djarin is trying to reunite "the child" with others of his kind. Some called the Jedi? First, he must see if he can track any other Mandalorians to see if they know where to find these Jedi. Everybody who has a lead needs a favour to get the information he needs. The return of old friends, new allies, and enemies.

It is an enjoyable recap of the series in comic format. They managed to keep all the important and action the was great series great. The book finishes with a varient cover gallery.

Another great run of comics, I think that the episodic nature of 'The Mandalorian' works really well for a comic adaptation. There is an overarching storyline but each issue still has its own distinct plot: the one with the frog people, the one with the giant worm, the one with the Mandalrians, the one with the science lab. The only one I felt needed more room to breathe was issue four, there were some great action scenes in this episode that were cut down a little too much for the comic.

I'm not sure if I have really complimented the artwork for these comics so far but I enjoy almost all of it. Some frames are beautiful and I love how Cummings and Jeanty draw alien species in particular. The human characters' faces sometimes look a little off, especially Peli Motto. They draw her with some crazy expressions and one too many lines in her skin. Cara Dune normally looks good.

How can you not love this comic when the show is so good!?
Covers the first 4 episodes of the second season of the show: Mos Pelgo and the Cobb Vanth team up against the Krayt Dragon; Transport of the Frog Lady through the Ice Spiders (with Grogu eating her eggs LOL); Meeting and helping Bo Katan; and a return to Nevarro to assist with getting rid of Moff Gideon's lingering presence.
Overall, very enjoyable. Maybe I should watch the show again....

Strong recommend.

Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Mandalorian: Das mandalorianische Erbe von Rodney Barnes

This graphic novel is the third collected installment of The Mandalorian television series adaptation. It contains Season Two episodes 1-4 as adapted issues #1-4. There isn't much to say in terms of the story if you have seen the show. In this arc, Din Djarin is on a mission to reunite The Child with the Jedi. Along the way, as is his usual, he gets tied up in helping the locals at his various stops, including killing a krayt dragon, assisting with a mother's egg transport, bringing down a secret Imperial weapons transport, and bringing down an Imperial lab.

A really great adaptation with fabulous art. While the action sequences roll a bit differently than that of film, one can't help but pause to admire the details in the art's action. A great adaptation that any fan will enjoy.

Just as terrific as Season One. The Mandalorian was truly meant for comics.

It's everything you saw on the show: Teaming up with a sheriff in Boba Fett's armor to take down a krayt dragon, transporting a creature (and her eggs) to a water planet with an ice planet detour, meeting up with the remnant Mandalorians.

Season Two already feels more focused than Season One, with our Mandalorian hero having a clear purpose ("find a Jedi for the Child"). Looking forward to Part Two!

Similar review to the Season one adaptation, though my opinion on the artwork has gone down a bit more for these issues. There isn't anything new or substantial added to these adaptations, so if that is what you are looking for, you could pass on these. This really is for huge fans of the show who want to enjoy the story in a different medium. The artwork overall is not my style, but there are some fun panels. Some episodes translate well into single issue comics, some not so much.

Reusing the review from Season One since it still applies - -

The abridged nature of the comic presentation does the scope of the series no favors. Everything is rushed and underdeveloped.

Additionally, the entire adaptation is practically shot for shot and word for word. Unlike the original Star Wars adaptations for radio and such which contained variations and new scenes, these Mando books are just direct translation, and soulless for being so.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian: Season Two, Part One is a visual delight for fans of the hit series. With its fantastic artwork, the graphic novel successfully recaptures the magic of the show's second season. This graphic novel serves as an enjoyable way to relive the thrilling events of the series.

2.5 stars. An average adaptation. The story was told well in the way it recapped the television series. However, what drives this down a ton is the art. There are many instances where the art is far below par here.

I believe I will be about age 99, when they'll publish the comic trade paperback of Season 7 Part Two, just one year after Season 12 has been released on Disney Brain-Uplink+. This has been dragged out a LOOOOOOOOONG time, with nothing extra included, aside from variant covers at the end. Sigh.
