I just lay there stunned now. I wanted to kill Lucas… that much was planned on but this second death; that was like a bonus two-for-one special murder. I started shaking uncontrollably. It was similar to the feeling some get when they first kill a deer, like a sort of adrenalin. I felt good, I felt above reproach, I felt above the law and I felt... panicked.
Take a journey through the mind of a madman. Was he born this way? Or was he created by something more powerful than anything he had ever known?
Enjoy as you get lost inside the twisted world of a serial killer, just make sure you come back the same person that started reading this book.
Firstly, if extremely descriptive blood and Gore, don't read this book. Or do, just have a bucket handy. To be honest though, this was a really good read but that ending really got me.
This is a difficult book for me to rate.. First, let's do a story re cap Starts with a kill scene, jumps around to the killer going to a barbeque, flashes back to his childhood, time progresses, it comes back to present day, then we go back in time. All the while the guy keeps having a dream about a tree that tells him the blood makes it real. Confused? Me too. But even though I felt like the story jumped around I absolutely loved the kill scenes. For example, he was a cannibal ( and yes we get very good descriptions) and he feeds his unsuspecting neighbors human meat at a neighborhood barbecue. Plus there's a kill scene with a druggie that was awesome. So the 4 stars is for gore and creativity. It could use another round of edits. But it's not horrible bad and is still very readable. Plus, I got it free. That always adds stars. I just wish it hadn't jumped around so much
It's a love/hate relationship with the main character. At first he does good then he slowly slips into madness, but he gets a second chance. The twist at the end is bloody brilliant. A definite must read. Especially on a cold, rainy day.
This is definitely one of the most extreme books I've read in the genre of extreme horror. Everything about this book is just depraved, I honestly did not expect to be as grossed out as I was, though I can't say I didn't have a good time reading it because that would be a lie. The only actual criticism I would give is that there were a few typos here and there, and in some moments the plotline got a bit confusing. Other than that, a great read!
Exciting, fun, and gory read, that grabs you right from the first page! Very interesting story, with a great flow to it. Will definitely be reading, more of Mark Lopez's work!
Ummm....I thought I could handle this but when I was second chapter in and he was boiling and eating his victim I was done and gagging!!!!! Sorry but this was not for me at all...
