Cartel Kings #5

Captured: His Deadly Prisoner

Rate this book
I'll do anything to survive. Even him.

I'm the son of a cartel kingpin—he's the brother of a mafia don. And now I'm his prisoner.

I can't tell him who I am. The repercussions would be deadly. But he's determined to force my secrets out of me, and at this rate I'm going to end up in a shallow grave.

There's only one way to make it out alive, and that's for me to get under his skin. I can tell he wants me. This is life or death—I'll do whatever it takes.

And when I get my chance, my revenge is going to be sweet.

CAPTURED brings together a spoiled mafia prince and a ruthless dominant in a high heat, dark MM crime romance with a HEA and no cliffhanger. This novel is #5 in the Cartel Kings Series, but can be read as a standalone.

Raul, a cartel prince, ends up bound and tortured by a beautiful mafioso. Raul is straight but he is willing to bend his preferences to get revenge. Captured is the 5th book in the series, so far, it seems like the final book. This series is fire! I am already planning a re-read next year. The overall setting was inside a cartel. The machismo that soaks every surface leaves no room for maricons. But Raul aka Perez isn't seducing Alessandro for his pleasure. He is doing it for revenge.

I like that the premise is the same but different for each of the books in this series. A bi-curious or closeted gay cartel member finds themselves in a situation. Where it would be considered a moment of desperation to have sex with a man. Instead of being gay more like a need for release. In this the captive element leads to Raul making a discovery. He is a masochist. He can't hide his excitement from his captor. The sex scenes in this book, this series! Whoa! So so passionate. I love when an author takes time to express the inner thoughts of the characters in these scenes. It is not always how things feel physically but mentally and emotionally as well.

I was looking for a dark romance based in the crime world that wasn't "another mafia dark romance". Even though mafia and cartel have similarities. It is different enough to meet the standard I was looking for. Grab yourself a copy!

Not the only one captured

It was nice to see Raul meet his person. I can say this is not how I exactly imagined it being but cute none the less. Finding someone who understands your life is important to him and Alessandro.

I will say I didn't get the inner turmoil that I was expecting from both characters especially after what the others had to go through in the other books.

I thought there relationship grew from a very tension filled experience for both. I will say the ending felt a bit rushed with the we will figure it out.

Overall not a bad read just kinda felt like the author was done with writing this series.

Best of the series. Please keep these coming. I absolutely loved the captivity, the seduction, and how depraved both of them were. Everything was perfect and i wished it was longer. I hope you write more of characters with similar characterisation as these two cuz the dynamic was perfect so was the individual characterisation. Reminded me of some of my all time fav mafia books. Can't wait for the next one. Well done author.

Loved this book. Been waiting for a book with two actual mafiosos. The ending makes a lot of sense but I really wish we saw them in the future and how they made it work. This author has a great lot of potential which I hope will become one of my regular authors that I will always continue to read from

LOVED the idea of this book, but it frankly lacked depth. Personally I didn’t think there was enough monologue from the characters to really grasp the character development and for me, as the reader, to feel the transition from enemies to lovers. I would have liked more spark and temptation.

3.5 stars. Definitely better than book 4, which was honestly shit, but I still don't feel like the emotional leaps the characters took a realistic. The ending was really good, but I'm not quite sure they earned it.
