A Cornish Kidnapping: A Cornish whodunit short story (The Loveday Mysteries Book 2)

Rate this book
A Loveday Mysteries short story. Believing the remote Black Swan Inn, with its idyllic waterside location, could provide a romantic feature for her Cornish magazine, editor Loveday Ross, accepts an invitation to go along and interview Marika Sweet, the woman who claims to be its owner. But the inn is not the charming creak-side hostelry Loveday had imagined. It's a dirty, derelict, boarded up building. …And there's no sign of Marika.

Praise for the Mellin Cove Series:

“DANGER AT MELLIN COVEgave me the same thrills I got when I first read Jamaica Inn. Terrific! It had me completely gripped and entranced. I thoroughly enjoyed it.” - E-Scape Press Author Judy Jarvie.

“A smashing read enjoyed every page, full of suspense, a good story well written, would recommend this book to my friends.” Amazon reader review

“A good story to settle down with after a long day of stress. It takes the reader to another time and place and reveals a slice of life from the point of view of Hedra who is a naïve, but spunky young woman. She has a strong sense of right and wrong. Even though she comes from wealth and position, she relates to the needs and circumstances of the hardworking people of Mellin Cove.” - Long and Short Reviews

Praise for The Loveday Mysteries Series:

“I loved this and will look for more of this series a great read for those who love Cornwall tales.” Amazon reader review

“Thoroughly enjoyed this series. Hopefully some more will be written so I can read more. Looking forward to that. I do enjoy mysteries from Cornwall.” Amazon reader review.

“Really good read, have enjoyed the Loveday Ross mysteries should be more, please can we have some more brilliant read.” Amazon reader review

“I love this set. It was fun and feisty and good for the price. Sometimes I like a book that is an easy read but quite fast paced and this fits the bill.” Amazon reader review.

Magazine editor Loveday Ross sets out to do an interview for her magazine at an old pub called The Black Swan Inn but on arrival discovers it is derelict and there is no sign of Marika Sweet, the person she is supposed to meet. Once again Loveday is drawn into a mystery which she is keen to solve despite being warned by DI Sam Kitto not to interfere. A good second book in the series set in Cornwall but too short, and some of the book seemed a bit muddled.

A Cornish Kidnapping, my third read from author Rena George & the second book in the Loveday Mysteries. I stumbled across this series when I read the eighth book in the series. I'm glad I did. An extremely enjoyable mystery and since I own 5 other books in the series it won't be my last read from this author. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

An enjoyable cozy mystery set in Cornwall but it was much too short. No sooner had I started it than it was over. However this second book in the Loveday Ross series held the attention and I look forward to reading more.

Good book!

This was a fun, action packed read. This is the second Loveday mystery I've read. Mystery lovers should read this story.

Far too short

Well written but really a short story not a novel. It was also not as flowing as the first book. Done of the actions did not gel.

I thought that this was an ordinary read. Pace was good but it felt too disjointed.
