A cryptic email from her 'dead' mother draws Chelsea back to Redemption Hills, the town she’d long sworn to forget. Reopening old wounds, and reviving the agony of Ethan Walker, the first love who shattered her heart by having a baby with someone else.
Determined to uncover the truth behind the mysterious message, she’s ready to confront her painful bast. But amidst the shadows of her childhood home, there's Ethan who sees her arrival as a second chance at rekindling a fire that never truly extinguished.
But just as old wounds begin to heal, a cascade of secrets emerges that mirrors an all-too-familiar past- a scheming ex-girlfriend with a dubious pregnancy claim.
As Chelsea peels back layers of lies in her quest for truth, the shocking reality lurking beneath the surface is about to explode, leading to a revelation that will change everything.
Romance novels have always been my sanctuary, a delightful escape which inspired my writing journey.
My stories? Against a backdrop of small town sunsets, and the occasional city lights, they dance through themes of second chances, enemies turning into lovers, and more.
They are led by strong men and complemented by strong vulnerable women navigating the inevitable drama of love and heartbreak, but always with the happily ever after's we all crave.
When I'm not weaving tales of love and passion, you'll find me globe-trotting. I'm a big believer in "But first, Coffee," because every good story begins with a great brew.
Join me on this journey of love, laughter, and the endless pursuit of happy endings.
There is nothing about this book that I didn't like. The characters were written so well and I felt like I was right there with the heroin e and the pain she felt. I recommend this book to anyone over 18. This is the first book I've read by this author but not the last. She is an excellent writer at what she writes. I can't wait until One Night Betrayal comes out also by this author. So please everyone who reads this review read this book.
The book really wasn't my cup of tea although I did finish it. I can understand that a young teen boy could fall into a trap resulting in breaking the heart of his girlfriend.
Suffice it to say that I find as the plot plays out 20 years later second chances are sometimes good.....third? The female lead is just meh and the male is kind of clueless.
This is Chelsea and Ethan’s story. This is a well written story which has family, friendships, secrets, lies, scheming ex, revelations, second chances, suspense, twists, challenges, and love, which leads to a heart-pounding, and addictive page turner. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I enjoyed Ethan and Chelsea’s story. Determined to uncover the truth behind the mysterious message, she’s ready to confront her painful bast. But amidst the shadows of her childhood home, there's Ethan who sees her arrival as a second chance at rekindling a fire that never truly extinguished. An intriguing read. And voluntarily leaving this review.
What do you do when you can't fall asleep because you're wanting to know how this wonderful book ends. You get up and finish reading it of course. Chelsea and Ethan are two characters well developed and have you falling in love with them from the start. Plus, what is even better is the perfect ending to a perfect book.
This book was OK. I don’t feel that it flowed well.
She comes back to her hometown becuase she gets a message from her mom. The very mom that she believed to be dead. When they reunited I don’t feel like there was much plot about this. They met up, she got a little background, but that was the end of it. The moved on like nothing happened.
Ethan story was so damn complicated. A girl said she was pregnant by him when they were in high school. She was a gold digger and wanted to ride his coattail because he was going to play pro, but of course he got hurt and the girl was never pregnant.
Whe he tried to reconnect with Chelsea it’s like Déjà vu, a girl says she’s pregnant by him. But it goes deeper than we think.
The twist at the end is the reason I gave 3 stars. Everything else was all over the place lmao.
