ATF special agent Delaney Carter despises flying...yet she's landed an undercover gig as a flight attendant! Unfortunately, all the bags of nuts in the world can't disguise the fact that she's the worst in history. But when her assignment--former arms dealer Jack Gordon--boards the plane, Delaney suspects that being trapped in a hunk of airborne metal at 30,000 feet isn't such a bad idea after all.
Delaney has her orders: recruit Jack and find out everything he knows about an upcoming weapons sale. But then she finds herself gloriously tangled up in Jack's bed. Lack of judgment? No, sirree! She's just doing her job--over and over and over....
Jordan Summers is an ex-flight attendant with a penchant for huge bookstores and big, dumb action movies. She prefers quite dinners with friends over maddening crowds. Happily married to her very own Highlander, she splits her time with her husband between two continents.
ATF Special Agent Delaney Carter must go undercover if she wants to keep her job and land herself a big promotion. Unfortunately her undercover gig is as a flight attendant and she is scared to death of flying.
Luckily for Delaney, she has gorgeous Jack Gordon to keep her distracted in the air and on the ground. Too bad that he also happens to be an ex arms dealer and the very man she has been assigned to get close to. She's sure that falling into bed wasn't in her mission brief but whenever she's near Jack, Delaney just can't help herself.
So long as you suspend reality, this is actually quite an enjoyable book to read on a lazy afternoon. Despite being an ex-arms dealer, Jack is a great hero - sexy and masculine while still being caring and kind. Delaney was a harder character to get to know and although she was sweet but feisty, I found it much too hard to believe she had the experience (and guts) to be a federal agent.
This book would have got more stars from me except that I felt it took far too long to actually get into the story and for it to get going. Once it did, you could escape reality and just enjoy the fun, fairly sexy romance. 3 stars.
It started really well, with promising characters, an intriguing plot. But all fell down rather quickly, like in chapter 3 and the remainder of the book, fortunately short, only went downhill. The whole romantic suspense felt totally fake, with the heroine behaving at all time like a rookie and half dumb, the hero without conscience or self-esteem, the bad guys really really bad but very observant, as he was able to see within minutes of meeting them that hero and heroine were both deeply in love with each other while they had not acknowledged that to themselves. My first and my last from this author.
A just OK read. The plot was interesting enough and the characters are very likable. Agent Delaney is perfect for yummy Jack. Some of the supporting characters were great!, Jeremy and "Barbie" were awesome, really funny. I didn't like the ending though, it didn't make much sense and I actually didn't know what was happening until the half of it.
I didn't enjoy Off Limits because I thought the main character, Delaney, was judgmental and close-minded. I don't think that's what the author, Jordan Summers, intended, but that's how I interpreted the character. I didn't finish the story.
