He's the big, bad beast of an alien dragon shifter and he's chosen me as his fated mate.

Battle scarred Drasus is the Kirakos' grumpiest, grouchiest Sarkarnii and he really doesn’t want anyone around him. My former job as a doctor means I’m given the assignment to take care of him as he recovers from his wounds.

Does it matter I’ve only ever treated humans? Apparently not.

Only Drasus doesn’t want to be nursed and he’s determined to make my life absolute hell, or at least the way he growls at me makes me think he does.

Right up until the point he kisses me...and I like it far too much.

If things couldn't get any more complicated, our kiss means we might be the key to unlocking the star-map which will help the Sarkarnii find what remains of their species. Too bad it also means heading into a life and death mission in the heart of the killer prison maze.

Which is when he goes and loses his memory. Now I have a hotter than hell dragon shifter who doesn't know who he is, but he does know I'm his fated mate.

And he's going to stop at nothing to make me his.

This is an enemies to friends to lovers story from USA TODAY Bestselling Author Hattie Jacks which will grab your heart and set parts of you on fire! Can a mild mannered human doctor tame the Sarkarnii known as the Beast and will she even want to? Featuring growling, snarling, claiming and many, many rasps of 'mine', you're going to taken on a wild ride!

I was looking forward to Coral’s book and it didn’t disappoint. She was intelligent, resourceful, compassionate, but took no shit. Drasus was understandably grumpy from being bedridden from life threatening injuries, so they didn’t get off to the best start. However, they quickly found their groove and learned to communicate more effectively.
The Sarkarnii are primal, possessive, and rather emotionally constipated as a whole. The human mates as a whole have a stiff upper lip, but have much more emotional intelligence that the men. I’m enjoying the world and looking forward to the next book.

Spice: 4.5/5

Triggers: life threatening injuries, confinement to bed, violence, mild gore, head injury, amnesia, MC pushy for other MC to have sex with them, explosion, kidnapping, poisoning, imprisonment

Imagine waking up in your own personal hell. Not knowing where you are or how you got there. Fighting to survive.
This sci fi romance has lots of action monsters and fated mates. But it is all they can do to survive in a prison full of terror.
The story is not overly long but it is entertaining enough to escape for a few hours.

“You are the moon around which I turn. Your eyes are my stars, your breath - my breath. We cannot be parted, we are one.”

Coral is absolutely amazing! Being a medic, she’s dedicated and responsible when it comes to her work. She’s very kind, compassionate, strong and caring. Even more, I absolutely loved her feistiness and stubbornness. I also loved that she showed such courage when dealing with the hardships thrown her way. And she’s so fierce! Coral is an incredible woman and I loved her so, so much!

And then, there’s Drasus! Ohh, he’s such a grumpy and growly male. This big, bad, dangerous and (a bit) feral Sarkarnii has quite the attitude. But there’s more to him than meets the eye. Because, underneath his fearsome facade, there’s also a fiercely protective, honorable, loyal, noble, possessive, sweet and utterly irresistible male. Even more, Drasus is quite the charmer and smooth-talker. The purple alien dragon is an absolutely incredible male and I couldn’t help but adore every single thing about him!

I absolutely loved everything that happened between Coral and Drasus! Coral has given up on men, even before being taken from Earth, and Drasus claims he doesn’t want a female. But fate has very special plans for them. I adored those two together! Their chemistry was off-the-charts right from the start and I loved their banters, the teasing and the bickering. I loved that both gave as good as they got! I also loved how supportive and protective they were of each other during their mission through Kirakos and all the unexpected events that happened during their journey. And when they couldn’t resist the undeniable need for one another, the passionate moments they shared were blazing hot and I couldn’t get enough of all the naughty delight. Ohhh, those Sarkarnii warriors will melt your knickers with their delicious dominance, gentle care and insatiable passion. Coral and Drasus were absolutely perfect for each other and, after everything they went through, they deserved to find happiness and love together!

In addition, the storyline was phenomenal! We’re extremely close to unlocking the star-map but leaving the prison planet will be just the beginning for our favorite human women and the fierce Sarkarnii. With everything happening and the unexpected turns of events, I was glued to the pages till the very end.

Overall, the story is another absolutely fabulous addition to the series! It’s filled with action, danger, suspense, adventure, humor, twists, drama, smoking-hot passion and incredible characters.

I couldn’t put it down and absolutely loved every single page of it!

Gotta love those Sarkanii Warriors. Battle scarred Drasus is the grumpiest, grouchiest Sarkanii who is angry, depressed and simply doesn't want anyone around him.

Coral is one of the human captives who were rescued by the Sarkanii Warriors. Her job before her abduction was that of a physician. Although se bumps heads with the Sarkanii's doctor; she is allowed to provide medical care to the other human females who are mated to some of the other Sarkanii Aliens.

Both Coral and Drasus have no desire to be mated. Coral sees her female counterparts all mated and pregnant and she wants no parts of that life. Drasus sees his fellow Sarkanii brethren mated and happy while he is still fighting for his life.

Coral and Drasus were a fun couple to read about. Coral inexperienced human female who has been left in charge of Drasus' care and Drasus a grumpy alien warrior who enjoys getting under her skin. The bbanter between these two was funny and witty. Although neither wanted a mat; fate had other plans and Drasus and Coral couldn't seem to keep their hands or mouths off each other.

Due to an unfortunate situation Drasus suffers memory loss and although he couldn't remember who or what he was; he could remember one thing clearly....Coral was his mate, and he is willingly to destroy everything in his path to keep her near to him and safe.

If you love a little alien smut, you will not be disappointed with the Sarkanii Warriors because they definitely bring the heat.

How is it possible that every book in the series keeps getting shorter?.
I'm starting to feel a little cheated because typically when you read series you expect the next book to get better or at the very least or stay consistent.
This story needed a developmental editor badly.
There are several places throughout the story when both the males and females, our past heroes and heroines of the first four books were getting confused. This really took me out of the story because I found myself stopping to be like wait. That's not who she is? That's not who she's made it to or how she looks.
The saving Grace for this book was it's really strong and interesting start. I enjoyed the initial tension between the characters, but it started to fall away in the madness of this storytelling. I was okay with the amnesia trope even though sometimes I feel like it can be a bit much, but what bothered me was never really knowing when Darsus was finally back to his full self. There were several moments where he appeared to be and then regressed and kind of did it again three more times. It takes away from the suspense and the drama and it takes away from that initial. Oh my God I got my memory back and now we're in love, Sort of feel.
This book was okay. I just wasn't a fan of how it ended and it kind of feels like I'm not exactly sure what the last book in the series is going to be about because it ended so vaguely and open-ended. So I mean, we'll see what we got.

Good

Drasus and Coral

Human doctor Coral is one of the last two humans to remain unmated to the Sarkarnii; until she is given the care of Drasus, one of the Sarkarnii warriors who was badly injured in their last battle.
Drasus is surprised to find himself in rut for the human doctor, but their people need the two of them to find the star map they have been searching for, so they can all escape from the Kirakus.
There are many dangers that they didn’t expect, and some of those threaten both their own survival, and that of the others…

Our gemstone named humans are almost all mated, to the imposing dragon shifters that want to add them to their hoards. This book has a particularly important series of events that impacts the ongoing background plot, and as such really, really needs to be read in series read order because otherwise it makes far less sense.

Not to worry though, because Coral is a smart, capable doctor, and Drasus is a fierce warrior and a cinnamon roll like the rest of them!

This is an enjoyable addition to the series, with an enjoyable setup for the next book in the series, and I admit I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next.
A great choice for alien hero SFR fans, and for those who have enjoyed the series so far, this is a steamy, and fun read for sci-fi romance readers.

Are They The Key?

Drasus is book 5 in the Fated Mates of the Sarkarnii series but before you do anything if you love an exciting alien romance binge read start with Hattie’s Rogue Alien Warriors series and then move on to the Elite Rogue Alien Warriors series (where we first meet our Sarkarnii brothers) then move on to the Fated Mates of the Sarkarnii series. They are all adventurous with lots of drama, fated mates and saucy women and steamy males!

Drasus is an injured, grumpy, stubborn and lost warrior. He does not want anyone’s help much less a sweet smelling distraction that has his rut out of control.

Coral is a 30 year old human virgin doctor tasked to care for her big cranky purple Sarkarnii. She is intimidated yet strong, hesitant yet bold and just can’t help herself when it comes to Drasus!

Some mysteries are starting to unfold. Some characters from Hattie’s Elite series make an encore. Our warriors get into more trouble and mischief and of course our sassy and unflappable human women keep them all in line!

I can’t wait for the next book in this series… Drelix! And, don’t forget to click the link at the end of the e-book for a bonus Drasus scene that you should not miss!

4 wonderful 🌟's for Drasus

Drasus was captured ABC tortured in a couple of the last books and he's currently been rescued and is healing. And like many males he's he wants out of their makeshift hospital and back to the work of getting off the prison planet. He's grumpy and snarly and he doesn't want to be around anyone. That is unless it's Coral. Coral is a young feisty doctor. She's been taking care of all the hu.a women since being rescued by the Sarkarnii. One in particular drives her crazy Drasus! Drasus as he heals realizes that Coral is actually his mate his heart fire . and wants nothing but to convince her that they are mates. both are sent on a very dangerous mission to retrieve a very special map that will guide them to the other Sarkarnii out there In the universe. Together they trudge through unforgiving territory where danger lurks behind every corner. as they face each danger their love grows and becomes something that will save them both. Great addition to the series and I'm looking forward to the next one where their new adventures will lead now that they are no longer bound to the Kirikos.

Wow! Talk about action from start to finish. This book was so exciting to read. Coral is the human doctor taken from earth by the Bogarok. Drasus is a Sarkarnii dragon who was badly injured fighting one of the many dangerous creatures in the
The escape from the Kirakos, is long awaited by all the Sarkarnii on the Golden Orion after they have the charts finally installed so they can find their fellow Sarkarnii. There isn’t a smooth transition because Coral and Jade are taken by the Bogarok, spider like creatures who have been hired to capture Sarkarnii mates. Things are not all grim, Drasus is on the job and hunts down where his mate, Coral is and wrecks havoc on those associated with taking her until finally they are reunited and go on to live their happily ever after until the next battle.

I was given an advanced copy of this book to read and I am reviewing with my honest and fair opinion.

Hattie outdid herself again when she created Drasus! All of Hattie’s male characters are romantic and say swoon-worthy things to their mates, but if there was an award for most romantic, Drasus would win! He could be a poet. No human woman could withstand the Sarkarnii muscles, purple hair and scale deliciousness, piercings ALL over, flying on the back of a dragon, and protectiveness, but add in the things he says, and it is a quick slide into love. Hattie should offer human men lessons! lol! The ongoing Sarkarnii storyline is wonderfully expanded in this latest installment in the series. The new world building includes a visit from some old friends, the Zio. There were hints and unanswered questions about Jade and Drelix, but not necessarily about them together. I am anxiously waiting for Drelix’s book to see what Hattie has dreamed up for them! I really hope Hattie has some more Sarkarnii hidden in her mind, because I am NOT ready to see the end of this series!

Yay! I finally got around to reading this and I love how this series has progressed. I was excited to read the romance and mating of Coral and Drasus. He was a little grumpy at the beginning because of his injury, and Coral really just tried to be a great nurse and get him back to health.

But as fate would have it, or as wily dragon leader would have it, they were pushed together to go on a mission and secure their mate status. After an accident, things changed and Drasus was left with a small bit of amnesia where the only thing that mattered was that Coral was his and that he was in rut for her.

I really liked the way Drasus flirted with Coral and brought out some laughter out of her. They worked really well together and I feel like Coral is the real hero here because she, in a way, had to save Drasus over and over again.

In the end, they had their wonderful Happily Ever After and the customary dance and it was wonderful.

I must admit that this story was infuriating me at the beginning. Coral in the previous books was adamant, strong, and a force to be reckoned with. Then I felt like her friends, peers, and the other Sarkarnii were manipulating, coercing, and pressuring her into doing something that she didn't want.
Well, grab on to your knickers, ladies, because dang, she was a loose cannon. There was no stopping her now.

Drasus and Coral have a unique deep connection that everyone saw, but the two people involved had no clue. What they had to endure truly stood the test of time. They had each other's back in every sense of the word. Their story doesn't leave you wanting for anything, well, maybe more. His devotion and their desires were unstoppable. Romantic, heated, and a beautiful story with a HEA

Amazing Hattie 💜🔥💜🔥

I love this story. The care Coral has for Drasus was outstanding. His dedication to her is even more.
I gobbled up the pages.
Loved the twists, steamy romance and eventual HEA.
The backstory is getting more interesting as well.
Once Coral makes a decision she is ferocious in keeping it. Feisty , strong, and witty come to mind describing her, and of course caring, she is the doctor after all.
She is able to think out side the box.
Drasus , has a problem , actually he has a few problems. But with Coral's help he is able to overcome them. I loved how they worked together so well. Loved the ways he tried to convince Coral she was his eternal flame , his "little flame".
I received a free copy of this book via BookFunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was probably my favorite out of this series, and that's saying a lot since every book was fantastic.
I think part of it was the strength Coral showed and has in general in dealing with Drasus and his attitude. Or his neediness when he was a little less grumpy after getting amnesia. The build up of their relationship and the story was simply amazing and exactly what I was hoping for.
Plus, the cave man attitude is really appealing on occasion even if on the norm you're a strong independent woman who doesn't need nor want one. ;)
Fabulous read! Spicy! Loved it and would recommend to anyone.

Coral, our heroine, was bound and determined to stay away from the Sarkarnii warriors and to not lose her heart to one. Even with her feelings about all of that she still treats Drasus as her patient by taking her oaths as a doctor seriously. Grumpy Pants Drasus didn’t want her near and his fellow Sarkarnii warriors ended up playing matchmakers of a sort. He was kind of a jerk. Adventure ensues for the two, our couple goes from not liking one another, to falling in love, more adventure, kidnappings, and then HEA. It was great!

I loved this book (obviously). I don’t think there is anything that Hattie Jacks has written that I haven’t liked. I think that makes me a Hattie Jacks Fan Girl…

"I flame for you, heartsfire. I hold you within me. You keep me alight. You are all the brightest stars in the universe, and you will always be mine."

This book was so sweet. Drasus is hurt when going on a rescue mission in another book series, and Coral is the one who is the resident doctor who helps him to heal. They are quickly identified as a mated pair, but Drasus doesn’t want a mate because he feels broken in both body and spirit.

Slight spoilers

He loses his memories and this paves the way for their relationship to really flourish. It was sweet and spicy and I absolutely loved it 🥰

What can I say about this book? It was hilarious, sexy, and full of action. Drasus was annoying and thirsty for poor Coral, she didn't know what hit her. I have always loved him because he was so out there. and knew I was going to enjoy his book. I devoured the book and went to bed way past my bedtime trying to finish. I am going to be so sorry when this series ends and hope we have a spin-off or Hattie Jacks introduces a new race of aliens. She has quickly become on of my favorites. I received an ARC but my review is voluntary and I've purchased the book as well.

Hattie Jacks’ dragon series is amazing! She created a whole prison maze and stocked it with many species and lots of adventures! This time human female doctor Coral is featured. She doesn’t want anything to do with mating one of the huge dragon males that can shift into humanoid form, but grumpy Drasus feels the stirrings. They are sent to try to unlock the Golden Orion which will only unlock for a dragon/human couple. What a wonderful story!

Another Sarkarnii heart throb

I really loved this sweet romance between Coral, the dedicated human doctor, and her grumpy warrior patient, Drasus. Drasus's injuries make him feel unworthy of a mate. Coral is determined to help heal the wounded warrior but is not looking for love. When the rut hits, it's inescapable.

Expect action, adventure, and danger in this space tale, but also love, loyalty, and plenty of steam!

grumpy?

Not sure I would call him that. Surly yes.
Entertaining romance. Actually loved the action scenes which is rare for me.
Definitely want another series starting with their going after treasures.
Please do not just write with human and sarkarnii pairings. Would love to have a hybrid human mate book. Since humans seem to have been kidnapped many years ago

So this... Was just the same type of warrior as the last one? All "feral" and battle scarred and unpredictable and all that.

Then the whole memory loss thing is the weirdest possible way I've seen PTSD managed. Like, we can just avoid it by making him start over 😂.

This one was not my favorite. The virgin doctor was a little much, and the misunderstandings seemed forced.

Drasus is something else. Such a grump. But after the fight that changes things he is wonderful. So glad Coral gets a mate despite her initial thoughts. A very nice adventure filled with danger, spice and some smooth lines. Fabulous series. Gimme more! Reviewed by Who She Reads.

When a Sarkarnii finds his mate, it’s all or nothing. The funny thing was, neither were looking or even wanted a mate nor, did they like each other. By the time they started being interested, and things were looking up, danger found them once again and things are looking very grim. It will definitely keep your attention!

I forgot to review this book. My first DNF in this series. I can't believe a doctor would not question things at all. I can't believe she'd just go along with things. Then it gets to the amnesia part, and I'm sorry, Hattie, I put it down after that. At least for a bit. I may pick it up again later just so I can have context for Drelix' book.
