4.5/5 - This was the perfect mix of being a slow burn but also so incredibly romantic. There’s no spice at all, honestly I’m not even sure there’s an on page kiss, yet there were still so many swoon-worthy moments.
This wasn’t a 5 star for me because at times, Lindsey’s lack of confidence bothered me a bit. I totally understand self doubt, but she seemed quite sure of herself at times and confident in herself in general, but then there were times when she didn’t seem to like herself at all and the inconsistency of that just wasn’t my favourite.
While this totally was a romance and that was a big focus, so was Lindsey’s personal growth and the friendships. The friendships is a big part of why I love this series so much, and am bummed that it’s over! I loved every book, and the way they all connected and how that was shown in each book.
My favourite is still book 1, but I honestly would recommend them all and this was an excellent end to the series.
This is a slice of life story, so there's not much drama or angst. It's a clean, straightforward novel. I will admit that I felt a little bored with the main couple because I wanted to see more chemistry and connection between them. It felt like they were more friends than anything else and I didn't understand why Trey liked Lindsey from the beginning. They're complete opposites in almost every way, so the romance felt a little forced to me in the end.
I initially thought it was a slow start Until the story developed. I was totally invested. Trey Collins took a new job as a football coach and a teacher. Lindsey Palovski was also a English teacher and Drama club teacher. Her new classroom was across the hall from coach Collins. Their lives intertwined making a nice story to add to Series.
You did it again, Terri! I couldn't put this book down. Ever since I read your first book about Ocracoke and later met you online, I have been your fan. Please continue writing books like this with the romance and optimism that you do so well.
I really liked the school teacher setting and this was my first of this series so I think I like the writing style, people seem real and gorgeous. The clubs were all saved hooray!
Finished the series and this was my favorite of all the books! The slow burn, the high school setting and the acceptance portrayed were all such good elements of the book!
Story of girl not wanting to fall for guy and all the hiccups along the way. It also includes the issues of football players and drama club versus funding issues.
Genuinely only finished this because I had already gotten over halfway through and I’m behind on my reading goal for the year, and we need to pad those stats, so yeah.
The dialogue did improve, the cheesiness did not.
This is also cleaner than Mr. Clean when it comes to the romance, and I like my romance like I like my martinis - dirty as fuck.
Moving on.

This has some of the most appallingly poor dialogue I have read in quite some time.
