This app is to die for.

With life on Kapamentis so grim, many of its human citizens take every chance they get to disappear into digital realities. But when the latest sim to hit the ‘net starts frying users’ brains, it might not be such a great escape.

Meanwhile, an anonymous tip-off finally leads Thaddeus Cutter to Sakura’s whereabouts. A mega-corporation puts a target on their heads. But the distinction between attacker and rescuer might not be so clear...

Can Thaddeus and Sakura capture a virtual killer? Or is humanity on the verge of a digital extinction?

Loved it! While sci-fi is not my favorite genre, I absolutely love Tom’s books.
I am amazed at the creativity each has to create a world like no other so clearly in my mind!
The Final Cut was a fantastic example of this.

A Fine Finale to an Excellent Series!!

This final book is an awesome and rather apt finisher, and I can forgive the Author's slight bit of whimsy at the end!! Which I shall not spoil!!
Why do I say apt? Well that would be to offer a spoiler, and I can't do that now can I?
Read the book for yourself and THEN tell me I am wrong! Or right!! LoL
All
the usual Kapamentis stuff is here, the grime, the filth, the Aliens of all sizes, shapes and genetic types are present and correct and a lot of dead bodies!! Our Thaddeus certainly has a case on his hands!
I would recommend this book with enthusiasm and I know you won't regret the reading!!

The last book in the Kapamentis crime series follows Thaddeus as he works for the ministerium as a consultant. Sakura didn't leave him after all but was kidnapped and forced to stay in a box until she needed by a big corporation.

Although I enjoyed this book I didn't find it up to par with the previous three for excitement and intrigue. I missed the aspect of Cutter's PI work I think. still good so 4 stars

This is trying fourth in this series following the exploits of private detective Thaddeus Cutter on Planet Kapamentis. A thrilling cyberpunk mystery which doesn't disappoint, with the locating and rescuing of someone very important to Cutter , to searching for someone distributing a deadly app. A thoroughly enjoyable read.

Thaddeus Cutter has found Sakura. But that just brings more danger and more questions. I definitely like Thaddeus better when he isn't in a desperate, barely surviving mode of existence. Yes, he's still fighting for survival. Yes, things are brutal, with dead bodies, all sorts of aliens and evil bad guys. It makes for a hard to put down book that I thoroughly enjoyed.

As ever, thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and flew through it at lightning speed. Thrilled to have Sakura back and thought the dive into sims was really thought provoking. I agreed btw. I'm a bit sad that this is the last book but I'm sure there will be something new from this book universe coming out soon.

I started this series by picking up book 3 and then swiftly getting the first 2, so you can already tell I enjoyed the series immensely. They are science pulp fiction in the best sense, fast, wild, creative, funny, over the top and this one brings the series to an appropriate ending. Recommended for a slightly different but no less perfect holiday read.

Fantastic end to a decent series! Love how it differs from The Final Dawn series. Where that's a bit more fun and lighthearted this is a tad more serious, more adult. I'd call it a cyberpunk thriller.

Can't wait to see what else Ashford writes for the Dark star panorama universe!
