Someone has attacked Chief Ekneme, my wife’s mother, and my family and I are out for revenge. Or justice, whichever way you look at it.
Unfortunately, I can’t put my life on pause to deal with things one at a time. So, while hunting down the person who attacked the chief, I also have to find time to open my new gun range.
Oh, and there are still pieces of the magical, demon-slaying armor that I need to find.
This book offers some disappointments. The end of the hunt was anticlimactic. The opening of the range was kind of meh. Generally all of the real world scenes were meh, which is unfortunate as the real world struggles were some of the most interesting parts of the previous books. Worst of all there was a scene where RL politics were waved around, and not by the conspiracy theorist. Please, absolutely none of that. I don't need anyone moaning about 'cancel culture' in my fantasy reading. My hope is the this book was just the doldrums of the series. But please, please, please, leave the politics out. Tom out
With bad news from the Gloom, Eddie and his family now have to investigate a serious crime that threatens the new trade agreements between the Gloom and the Twilight regions.
The mystery, intrigue and with Eddie's new business ready to open in the surface, it's a real page turner and I'm looking forward to more!
The storyteller again continues Eddie’s quest to find the pieces off magical armor to fight the major daemon who will threaten everyone. Along with an attempted assassination, which has the capability to impact both the gloom and twilight, to add more mayhem to his life. A good read!
Holy Cuyahoga Falls Batman! I absolutely love this series! I was disappointed that Chief Ekneme didn’t get to visit Cleveland to see how her daughter and family lived before her demise and it was nice to see how everyone pulled together. Hopefully Chief Ondur will get to visit the land dwellers. Other than that, everything was amazing!

As an outdoorsman from central Iowa I can relate to the main characters' upbringing. Having read every sci-fi book in the library by the time I was 17 helps me appreciate the excellent creativity in these books. I greatly look forward to reading the next book in this series!
Overall another good chapter. A little sad about who perishes but still a good story.
There is the growing problem that with so many characters depending on what waifu you might want to see more developed it just might not happen. Still, it was good overall.
Eddie is a busy man. He's got seven wives, a child, one on the way, and to businesses be owns. You'd think that would be enough, but the armor of balance calls and the boots are in a cavern in the gnomish city. Before be can hunt for them, Nileme's mother is killed and Eddie has to track the assassin.
Nicely timed pace of events and an excellent and growing plot. The characters continue to grow in many ways that keeps the reader interested. Bring on Book 16!!!
I am happy to be reading a story with great history, Building on the success of 14 other works. I enjoyed the feel of a familiar place and the growth of a family. Keep up the good work and I appreciate your endeavors.
A very fun story with many twists and turns. The characters' development continues while the story introduces new places, people, and communities. I highly recommend this series, and start with book one.
Another hit. This is a great series of books. Eddie Hill has done so much for the Gloom. The folks love and respect him. If you liked the other books of this series, you won't want to miss this one.
