Army Cyber Warfare veteran Sam Knightsbridge never wanted to be trapped in the American Wild West—especially one where bullets tear flesh, blades bite deep, and every choice leaves scars that don’t fade. But after a near-fatal ambush shatters his body, Sam is forced into a cutting-edge, therapeutic, virtual reality simulation—a brutal, hyper-realistic SIM where mind-body links augment regenerative therapies.
This vast digital frontier is more than a game. Millions live here—thrill seekers, entrepreneurs, and desperate patients clinging to life inside the SIM’s blurred boundary between reality and code. For those in the SIM, the deeper you go, the better you heal. So for Sam, escaping isn’t an option. His only chance to reclaim his life outside the SIM is to master the wild world within.
But the Patriot Council, a ruthless organization, is twisting the SIM’s systems to their dark hacking controls, razing towns, enslaving innocents, and harvesting pain as profit. They want Sam dead and disconnected before he exposes their secrets.
When his girlfriend and best friend are kidnapped, Sam faces a brutal choice—risk everything to save them or lose everything to a merciless enemy. In a world where warriors are legion, leaders seem invincible, and the rules favor only the ruthless, victory might come at a cost more shattering than any wound.
Welcome to the Skeleton Trail. How much would you risk in order to thrive?
