Have you ever read a book and it made you so mad you wanted to stop reading but couldn’t because you had to find out what happened? This is what Weekend did to me. Why? Well because Liam is a weak, yellow-livered, so ‘n so!!! He allowed so many things to happen to the woman he loved, Shyla. Shyla was a college student who worked as a paid escort. One of her appointments resulted in Shyla quitting the “business”. Shyla’s last appointment…Liam’s brother, Rotham. Rotham is a controlling, psychopath, who did what he wanted, when he wanted, to whom he wanted. Rotham is NOT an Alpha male. He is a nutcase! There is a difference! On a weekend family trip Shyla discovers Rotham is Liam’s brother. This discovery leads to rape, blackmail, physical harm to Liam at his Rotham’s hands, and the ultimate foolery….taking Shyla prisoner to be abused by Rotham and his wife. Money can buy a whole lot of lies and lives. Rotham paid a lot of people to ruin Shyla and Liam’s lives. Liam turned away from Shyla without allowing her an explanation. After years of abuse, Liam discovered Shyla is a prisoner in his brother’s home. After Shyla relays the sordid story, then Liam wants to man up. They ultimately work together to kill Rotham in retribution for the years of abuse. I think it is an ok read.
So far I think this one is my favorite. It has, blackmail, betrayal and angst galore. My favorite scenes are when Rotham and Shyla first meet again. That moment when he sits down and is introduced to her again ^^ yeee. The prison scene is also another favorite of mine with him just popping by.
I also think Petra and Rotham's relationship in this one was the most sophisticated we've done so far. Usually they arn't as well matched with each other. Both I think in this one they complimented each other.
