Anyone can apply at least a handful of concepts from this book, regardless of their current stage of life. From ways to strengthen your romantic relationship, to how to better actively listen to a friend, as well as small steps to making even strangers feel valued, there are many takeaways from this book that can be put into practice right now.

While the majority of this book is bite sized therapy lessons, I really enjoyed the heartier, personal story side. I would have liked to read even more personal stories as some of the information could have been more flushed out with real world examples to really drive home the points being made.

As I have recently taken on a new leadership role at work, many of the concepts resonated with me. I found myself writing notes, especially around questions to help someone understand a mistake instead of saying 'I told you so', and implementing what I learned into my everyday life.

Today is a good day to learn something new. The guiding motto for each time I picked up this book after struggling through the first two chapters.
There is a wealth of knowledge within this book. So much information and a challenge to absorb all that is presented.
Valuing others and yourself will take time and practice. An attempt at being aware of body language and eye contact when dealing with customers highlighted, I need to slow down and pay attention and value the person I am interacting with.
Small talk is non-existent within my personality spectrum, I am missing out on the value others can bring into my life.
After reading this book, I have a goal each day to learn something new interacting and valuing others with small talk.

Finding Value combines personal stories with common sense behaviors for making meaningful connections with others, both short and long term. I can see a lot of opportunities, specifically for my work life, to make changes. An ever evolving process. Will work on meeting people where they are.

Many of us are aware of the "Golden Rule" to treat others how you want to be treated. Additionally, there is the "Platinum Rule" where you treat others how they want to be treated. The book "Finding Value" is a guide to figuring out how to upgrade from the Golden Rule to the Platinum Rule.

This book covers many important topics, including why and how "valuing others does not mean you devalue yourself" and vice versa how "valuing yourself does not mean you devalue others."

This book is only 165 pages (including the intro and conclusion), yet it has a bunch of good nuggets and actionable tools! (My copy is now quite highlighted. :) )

Thought provoking for those who don't believe in abortion. I cannot imagine being in the position this author was in. No spoilers, but there was no good choice in this situation.
If you need guidance in understanding and interacting with others, this author uses her own real life as examples to explain what worked for her and might work for you.
