William Plumer (1759-1850) was an American lawyer and Baptist lay preacher from Epping, New Hampshire. Both a representative for New Hampshire in the United States Senate and later as Governor of New Hampshire, Plumer is best known for his many practical Christian books. Plumer was not one to mince words. It has been said of "Simple yet profound, heart-searching yet encouraging" (Joel Beeke).
