"The secret life of Rebecca and the men who have seduced her."

The first in Lisa Renee Jones' five part series attached to THE INSIDE OUT TRILOGY. These are the journals written by Rebecca and the ones Sara never sees.

Since finishing the first book in this series, If I Were You, I've been dying to know more about Rebecca. Here, we get more insight into the men in her life along with her hopes, dreams and fears.

I can hardly wait for more!

The first nouvella in Rebecca's Journals. The story goes alongside Inside Out Trilogy but I made the mistake of reading this after Being Me (book 2). Written in diary format in Rebecca's words, we gain insight into this mysterious character within this trilogy. Events take place prior to Inside Out trilogy......

This is the diary of Rebecca, 22-years old, working at a restaurant to survive but dreams of working at Allure Art Gallery. She needs to pay her bills and working in a gallery won't do it. It's a pipe dream....

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

When she stumbles upon Mark Compton, gallery owner, he offers her a job at the gallery. She's insanely drawn to him, the domineering, controlled, perfectly suit-clad man with the silver eyes. When he enters the room, man or woman, all eyes gravitate to his pull. He dominates the room, his world.

This pull is mutual between them. When he offers to push her limits, to give up control to him, can she do it? Can she hand over all control to this man who she dreams about nightly? Rebecca's intrigued but also a bit scared.....

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

Love being in her head! My recommendation is to read this right after If I Were You. It's a great compliment to the trilogy with the same "cast of characters" but the focus on Rebecca's story more so than Sara's. Moving on......

I do so love it when a book heroine has my name. I can completely imagine the hero fixing me with that silvery gray gaze as my name, Rebecca, whispers over those highly kissable lips.

He returned his gaze to mine and softly said my name. Just “Rebecca,” but it was all soft and rough at the same time, and I melted into a big puddle right there in front of him.

Oh yes!! This Rebecca is in a puddle at that man’s feet right with book Rebecca! Le sigh!!

This is quite simply delicious. Rebecca’s feelings come over in glorious technicolour as we experience her despair, her desires and her trepidation and I’d forgotten just how scorching a sex scene Lisa Renee Jones can write.

Rebecca’s Master is, of course, unrevealed and I am no closer to guessing than I was when I read If I Were You but he is a super hot and super sexy dominant and, despite his cold and commanding countenance, he’s right there with her soothing her beautifully when she awakes, screaming from a nightmare.

We learn a little about Rebecca but we’re still in the dark about what trauma’s in her past cause her to live her life the way she does and what on earth happened in the end to force her to disappear. So many secrets, 4 more instalments – let’s hope they’re all as fascinating as this one.

4 stars erotic romance

ABOUT IF I WERE YOU
How It All Started…

One day I was a high school teacher on summer break, leading a relatively uneventful but happy life. Or so I told myself. Later, I’d question that, as I would question pretty much everything I knew about me, my relationships, and my desires. It all began when my neighbor thrust a key to a storage unit at me. She’d bought it to make extra money after watching some storage auction show. Now she was on her way to the airport to elope with a man she barely knew, and she needed me to clear out the unit before the lease expired.

Soon, I was standing inside a small room that held the intimate details of another woman’s life, feeling uncomfortable, as if I was invading her privacy. Why had she let these items so neatly packed, possessions that she clearly cared about deeply, be lost at an auction? Driven to find out by some unnamed force, I began to dig, to discover this woman’s life, and yes, read her journals—dark, erotic journals that I had no business reading. Once I started, I couldn’t stop. I read on obsessively, living out fantasies through her words that I’d never dare experience on my own, compelled by the three men in her life, none of whom had names. I read onward until the last terrifying dark entry left me certain that something had happened to this woman. I had to find her and be sure she was okay.

Before long, I was taking her job for the summer at the art gallery, living her life, and she was nowhere to be found. I was becoming someone I didn’t know. I was becoming her.

The dark, passion it becomes…

Now, I am working at a prestigious gallery, where I have always dreamed of being, and I’ve been delivered to the doorstep of several men, all of which I envision as one I’ve read about in the journal. But there is one man that will call to me, that will awaken me in ways I never believed possible. That man is the ruggedly sexy artist, Chris Merit, who wants to paint me. He is rich and famous, and dark in ways I shouldn’t find intriguing, but I do. I so do. I don’t understand why his dark side appeals to me, but the attraction between us is rich with velvety promises of satisfaction. Chris is dark, and so are his desires, but I cannot turn away. He is damaged beneath his confident good looks and need for control, and in some way, I feel he needs me. I need him.

All I know for certain is that he knows me like I don’t even know me, and he says I know him. Still, I keep asking myself — do I know him? Did he know her, the journal writer, and where is she? And why doesn’t it seem to matter anymore? There is just him and me, and the burn for more.

A teasing, very short, hot and mysterious read that any erotic romance reader will fully enjoy!

Rebecca’s Lost Journals Volume 1 gives us the beginning of back ground information that leads to Lisa Renee Jones’s Inside out Trilogy. We get introduced to the real life of the mysterious Rebecca, her introduction to being a submissive, her real life experience, jobs and her Master all direct from Rebecca herself instead of being told by another (as it is in the Inside Out Trilogy). The REAL mystery still stands… Who is her master?

I look forward to reading the rest of the journals to see where everything goes. There’s really not much more I can say without giving anything away :)

"He only has control because you give it to him. Don't ever forget that."

What a great insight to how the story of If I Were You begins. I am intrigued and will be finishing all of the journals...TONIGHT! I just have to have the background before diving into the next Inside Out book.

I love how it's written in journal form and it really does feel like she spills her thoughts on the pages...even the little mundane things are interesting.

Rebecca is intrigued by this man and despite her lack of knowledge of the unknown, she wants...just wants. And this man can give her something she longs for but hasn't realized yet; to give up control.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this first Volume of Rebecca's Lost Journals. It was a quick, mysterious and sexy read that frustrated me like crazy because we are still no closer to knowing who the mysterious man in the journals is! It was very interesting to see the similarities between Rebecca and Sara. I'm excited to have all of these smexy little journals to keep me coming until Being Me comes out!!

"This novella gave me a dose of satisfaction to tie me over for the next installment of Inside Out Trilogy." ~Under The Covers Book Blog

I instantly became a fan of Ms. Jones since reading If I Were You last year. And since then, I have been waiting for anykind of read that is related to this series. This novella gave me a dose of satisfaction to tie me over for the next installment of Inside Out Trilogy.

In If Were You, we see bits and pieces of Rebecca Mason through the journals that was found by the heroine Sara McMillan. In that novel, we read about Sara's adventures in her journey to find out more about Rebecca. Since Sara has only but a few of the journals, the mystery about her is really thick and full of unanswered questions. Well, here in The Seduction, Ms. Jones is giving us more of Rebecca story.

Rebecca is at the lowest time of her life and she decides to take the plunge and be more daring. Taking chances with things she never would before. The first step landing her a new job and a man that will change her every sexual being. With that said, this journals are all about her experience. We read about everything that happens and what she is feeling...raw and unedited.

I was kept engaged with every page. I love that these are in a "diary" format. It was cool to see the dates and progress of her story. Rebecca's feelings, fears and the beginning of her submissive lifestyle all for us to see. We also get a glimpse of the characters from If I Were You, which was great because it just validates that Sara is on the right track to unveiling the mystery.

Please take note that these journals are "Rebecca's Lost Journals" meaning Sara do not have access to them, only "us" as readers do. Thank you Ms Jones, this is quite a treat for us.

Though this is a great read as is, I do recommend to read If I Were You first. I think you will understand Rebecca just a tad more and why you would want to read her private journals.

Rebecca's Lost Journals started out with a bang! Man oh man do I love this series and the journals adds more excitement to it. When I read If I Were You I was so caught up in the book and the story that I stayed up all night reading. I had so many questions after reading it that my head was spinning. I said dang I need to get some background info on Rebecca. I needed to know what was going on why had she disappeared? Where did she go? What the hell happened to her? Was she hurt? And most important who the hell was this Master?

The world of BDSM is gaining in popularity as more and more authors incorporate it in their writings. For a long time it was considered to be under ground and no one spoke about it. I remember the first time I met an older man and he and I were talking and laughing at a charity function and he asked me out and I said okay. We spent some time together and went out a few more times when he sprung on me that he was into that life style. At first I was shocked because I had never ever heard about it but he explained it and I declined because I told him I am head strong and I did not put up with no mess and I am not a very good follower. He laughed and said he would love to see me submit one day. I laughed and said hell no! We are still friends and talk often and when I told him about this book series he read the first one and enjoyed it.

In Seduction we get to meet Rebecca and see how she started out at the art gallery. Of course we see she meets Mark first who is the gallery owner. Then she meets Ricco the artist and Christopher the other artist and of course Ava. She tells us how she got the job at the gallery and how she met Master. You get a glimpse into what she is feeling by being with Master and what he does for her. I must admit I sat and devoured the journal in two hours because I could not out it down. When you start reading it you get to see and feel what Rebecca saw and felt and LORD HAVE MERCY Lisa Renee Jones you sure have a best seller on your hands!

Don't forget The Seduction comes out January 28, 2013 come along for the ride of a lifetime!

This is a real short read which is written in journal form. Although this novella contains dates and entries I expected more.

A journal to me contains the writers inner most thoughts. I didn't find that here. The entries went from meeting her boss with the all intrigue and attraction to the next entry of Rebecca stating that he proposed a master/slave relationship and left out how he asked, when, where, etc. I think in leaving out this important piece information out I felt gypped. Some entries had random conversation with fellow employees which I don't think would have been written in a journal.

All in all, I will remain in hot pursuit for more Chris and Mark and look forward to sequel to the Inside Out Trilogy.

“Have you ever met someone who you immediately knew could change your life? I’ve heard about this happening, but I never experienced anything near it until tonight. Tonight I met him. I don’t know this man’s name, nor does he know mine, but I still feel the impact of our brief meeting deep inside”

Rebecca’s Lost Journals are are a companion to Lisa Renee Jones’s Inside Out Series. I must say…what a friggin’ great idea! If I Were You by Lisa Renee Jones was one of the best books I read last year. There was hot sex, mystery, suspense, sexual tension throughout the whole book, it consumed you and it left you with a ton of unanswered questions.

In If I Were You, a young woman, Sara, gets hold of some erotic journals and becomes immersed in a story of a woman named Rebecca, who becomes involved with a powerful Dom, and is now missing. These are the journals that are missing, that Sara never found. Lisa Renee Jones has woven clues throughout these journals, so reading the 4 that come out before Being Me will be a lot of fun. I would love for you all to come back to this post after you read this and lets talk clues. What do you think the clues were? Let me elaborate a little….

This 40 page novella is Rebecca’s journal, and is written like one. It covers her first foray into the gallery and her first meeting with the sexy, controlling Mark Compton, she also meets the gorgeous Chris Merit, Ava from the coffee shop, and Ricco. We also meet her hot banker friend Josh who loves to lick…everywhere.

Then the journals skip a little….and “He” is there.

“He, who wants to be known simply as “Master,” has swept into my world and torn away walls I never knew existed, and that I’m not sure I want torn down. He says he will control me, command my body, and show me pleasure like I’ve never known. He will show me trust that is the greatest bond two people can share. He will fuck me senseless, and then do it again and again until I know nothing but him”

We don’t know who “He” is, that’s the whole mystery….you don’t expect to find out so soon do you? I’d love to tell you a little more, but since it is so short, I’ll let you guys read it for yourself.

Likes:
-Reads like a real journal.
-I love the whole find-a-clue concept!
-We see how Sara really did follow a similar path as Rebecca.
-Hot and sexy.
-Still gives you that breathless feel.
-I was totally mesmerized for the 40 pages.

Dislikes:
-None!

Rating (novella): 5 stars, 4.5 heat

For anyone that has read If I Were You by Lisa Renee Jones this series of Lost Journals are for you. If I Were You is the first book in a erotic romantic suspense trilogy. The Inside Out trilogy begins with the heroine, Sara, gaining possession of Rebecca’s journal. This journal was discovered by a friend who won Rebecca’s unpaid storage locker. The journal is filled with some very disturbing, yet erotic pages and it prompts Sara to find Rebecca and return to her the items of her storage unit, journal and to make sure she is okay.

The journal is an integral part of the trilogy and leaves the reader wanting to know more about Rebecca and what she wrote. Finally, we are getting what we’ve craved. Ms. Jones has released 5 volumes of Rebecca’s Journals. Supposedly, these 5 volumes Sara didn’t even get to see. I will review each volume individually even though they are only about 40 pages each.

Rebecca’s Lost Journals, Volume 1: The Seduction is our first peak into the life of Rebecca Mason. It begins with her struggling as a waitress, dealing with the death of her mother and terrible nightmares. Rebecca is lost and in emotional turmoil. Her journal details this angst and explains how meeting Mark Compton and taking the internship at his art gallery completely changes her life irrevocably.

What makes one person’s dreams come true when another’s don’t? Determination. Action, Desire.

This particular volume is light on erotica. There is lots of heat and sexual tension, just no actual action as of yet. However, this book is very deep and has the beginnings of very disturbing behavior, dreams and thoughts. I feel like it really helps set us up to understand the Inside Out Trilogy a little better.

Thank you to Simon and Schuster publishing for the loan of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This is super, super short. 40 pages, I believe. I think it must be some kind of marketing thing for Lisa Renee Jones new series, the Inside Out Trilogy. Either way, if you're going to purchase this novella, do yourself a big favor and purchase at least all 4 of these novellas (there are a total of 5).

You're going to get this little taste of the story and I promise you: You'll want NEED more!

This first one was a little emotional for me. We kind of meet Rebecca Mason, since these are her journals. At first, I felt a teensy bit voyeuristic at the thought of reading her journals, even if she is a fictional character. But that feeling is fleeting as Rebecca draws you in to her unhappy life. Geez, my heart broke for her! Her mom had recently died and had revealed some kind of secret to Rebecca and it sounded like the secret kind of blew Rebecca away.

But Rebecca has something of an epiphany one day and realizes, essentially, that she's pissing her life away and she's going to have no one to blame but herself. So she decides to go out and go after her dreams. She wants to work at an art gallery. She's loved art for as long as she can remember and even got an education in it. But after her mom passed and the bills stacked up, chasing dreams was put on the way back burner. Until now. Chasing those dreams leads her to meet Mark, who has Rebecca feeling things that she's never felt before and doing things she never thought possible.

When I first read, If I Were You, I was unaware that there were journals. I mean they’re mentioned in the book, but the author actually wrote out the journals in three short story lengths. I got the privilege of reading the first two, but I’m dying to get my hands on the last one.

When you first read, If I Were You, you’re whipped into the after effects of a woman named Rebecca. Small snippets of her life are revealed, but the journals delve you deep into her world as she becomes engrossed into the world of art and sex.

She’s careful and cautious or at least she wants you to believe it. Perhaps she even believed it herself at one point. When it comes to her master though, it appears all bets are off.

The two journals were a nice companion read to If I Were You, and you can read them before or even after. It’s nice to see the woman Sara (From If I Were You) is trying to find and help, but at the same time she too makes a lot of the same mistakes.

If you’re going to pick up If I Were You, and if you enjoy steamy, erotic romance then you definitely should, go ahead and grab the journals too. It really helps to shine a light on the hidden world that both Sara and Rebecca joined.

The Seduction was such a great novella companion to go with If I Were You; I still can’t get it out of my head! It was just as the name implies; the story of Rebecca’s seduction with the mysterious man from her journals. I wasn’t sure I would be interested in the actual journal entries of Rebecca because I was wrapped up in Sara’s story but I was WRONG! These were journal entries that Sara wasn’t privilege to so we got inside information to Rebecca’s mysterious story, if only they didn’t leave me with more questions than answers! The biggest question of all is WHO IS HER MASTER?? And just when I thought I had it figured out, new details emerge and I know I’m clearly wrong! We are reintroduced to Mark, Chris and Ricco through the eyes of Rebecca and it not only cleared up some things from the novel but also had me raising my eyebrows at some of the things they did. You’ll love Seduction if you read If I Were You and I find myself craving more of the novellas just as much as I do book #2!

For this Review and more Live Read and Breathe

So this is a quick novella from the world of the Inside Out Trilogy and leave to Lisa Renee Jones to get you all riled up with the OMG who is it. I thought for sure with these journals that it would start to be obvious of who the mystery man is but NOPE we are still completely in the dark about it.

I think these journals are a fan-friggin-tastic idea to keep us immersed in the story and have more background of Rebecca. My fingers are crossed that Chris is one of the good guys because I am so Team Chris when it comes to Sara in the trilogy.

I can't wait to read all the serials to find out more before Being Me comes out. My heart is pounding on the NEED to know who it is that is Rebecca's Master

Loved this novella. Love the Series. Love the Trilogy.

We were lucky enough to get a sneak peak at volume one of Rebecca's Lost Journals: The Seduction, out on January 28th, which Lisa Renee Jones is writing to accompany her Inside Out Trilogy.

Rebecca's Lost Journals: The Seduction is basically the prequel to If I Were You, Book 1 of the Inside Out Trilogy. You MUST read If I Were You in case you missed it. It is in our Top 10 Books of 2012. it is the story of Sara who finds and reads the secret journals of Rebecca who has left them abandoned in an auctioned off storage unit. Very hot and sexy book with very engrossing characters and an OMG cliff hanger.

If you have not yet read If I Were You, START IMMEDIATELY! it is a 5 star read!

Rebecca's Lost Journals, Volume One: The Seduction, is fabulously engrossing, sexy and suspenseful. The only problem: I need more Mark and Chris! Read Rebecca's Journals. You will not be disappointed.

These journals are companion pieces to the Inside Out trilogy but can stand along just as well.

In them you get to meet Rebecca, the girl whose diaries so captivate Sara in If I Were You. Through her actual diary entries we get to see how she struggled as a waitress and dreamed of working with art. In this first volume we get to see how she is starting and struggling to follow her dreams while meeting all these interesting characters that all have secrets. We witness her first introduction to "The Master" as she tries to decide if she is ready for all that relationship will entail.

If you have read If I Were You. You must pick this up. If you havent you really need to get both. Once you enter Sara and Rebecca's world you will be hooked waiting to see what happens next.

This is exactly what I'd hoped for! We see Rebecca's entrance into the BDSM lifestyle Sara is just getting a hint of by the end of If I Were You. And it gives us more of the world we've been missing while we wait for Being Me, including those gorgeously hot men Chris and Mark, and adds some details we can only learn from Rebecca herself. We don't get a whole lot of answers yet, but there are some clues thrown in there if you are paying attention. Rebecca's Lost Journals, Volume One: The Seduction is a short 40 pages that I flew through in one sitting, practically begging for more when I got to the end. Luckily, I don't have to wait that long since the next one comes out less than a month after the first!

I read this series ALL out of order and actually started with Rebecca's Lost Journals and THIS made me go back and read the Inside Out series books 1-3. Reviews to come at www.bookcrack.com. I really enjoyed the suspense of this series and am late to the party on this one, which many bloggers have recommended.

Because this is somewhat of a romantic suspense series with a touch of BDSM it does have some frustration in that you don't get definitive answers, but with book 4 coming in August and the additional Master Undone novellas coming out now if you can commit to the series I think you would enjoy it! ** SPOILER ALERT*** in my ARC Master Undone was included and THAT should DEFINITELY be saved for LAST in the series!

This short novella is the start of Rebecca's journey. The chance encounter that resulted in a job at the gallery and the introduction of four men. But still no clear answer as to who "Master" is.

The similarities between the feelings Rebecca expresses and Sara's feelings are chilling. It's like these men all see Rebecca when they see Sara. A great addition to the series and insight into the mystery that is Rebecca. Although I doubt any great reveal will happen and let it slip just who Master is, but I can't resist hoping.

I loved this book. Read it in 1 day. Lisa Renee Jones certainly didn't disappoint!!! I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen! And it was easy for me to feel invested in these characters. I won't put any spoilers in my review because I don't like that myself. I really love this whole series and recommend that you read them in order so you will know what's going on the whole time and don't find out a secret before it's supposed to be revealed. I would and have recommended this book and the entire series to my family and friends.

I'm so lost.

Rebecca built up her intense attraction to Mark, who seemed to not reciprocate. Then she went on and on about their chemistry, the sexual tension, and the things left unsaid between them. I just didn't see it.

Then there's a time jump and there's a man she refers to as Master. Am I to assume that he's Mark? The description of the eyes and the dominance kind of convince me that it's him.

P.S. How did her mother betray her?

If you're thinking you're going to read this and possibly be closer to figuring out what the hell is going on, don't count on it. Rebecca's encounters are eerily similar to Sara's but the feelings she associates with the men and some other characters are fairly different. I still have no clue what's going on and it's kinda freakin awesome.

I enjoyed this short story. It is actually written in diary format and gives us an idea of the type of person Rebecca was, how she came to work at the gallery, and how her relationship with Master came to be...we still have no idea who he is though!! Recommended :)

5 Stars. Excellent companion novella to the Inside Out Trilogy set in the style of a journal in which daily entries include clues as to what happened to the missing Rebecca.
