Being haunted by her maniacal, poltergeist mother is the least of Sin’s problems.

The former High King of the Fae, who’s just been released from Hell, is a much bigger one. Oberon has decided that she is his ticket home. Her, a death fae with no connections or money - none that she wants to acknowledge, at any rate. But Oberon is willing to play dirty, and he’s absconded with her cousin, Nog, a corgi shadow shifter with more heart than brains. Now Sin has to work out how to escape the clutches of a slightly-disturbed too handsome former fae overlord, or risk losing her freedom. Forever. Because Oberon’s plans don’t involve her returning to Crossroads. No, they have her journeying to the fae world, and facing her worst nightmare. Her mate.

Spurn Me is a spicy standalone romantasy set in the Immortal Vices and Virtues Universe. Every book is a guaranteed happily ever after with a satisfying ending and no cliffhangers.

4.25 stars! In the world of Immortal Vices and Virtues, this story takes a little bit of a different path, and it was most definitely an entertaining and interesting one. We have Oberon, the exiled High King of Avalon, the fae world, now able to leave Tartarus and determined to find his way back to Avalon and exact revenge. And then we have Sin, a dëath fae, and something else, always fiercely protecting those she loves, and being thwarted by Oberon at every turn as she tries to get to her sister who is having her own story in Tartarus (see prior book in the series for that story, but not necessary for these standalone books). And Oberon sees Sin as his ticket back into Avalon, because she doesn’t actually know what kind of fae she really is, and how rare and powerful it is. Add into the mix Sin’s chaos goblin of a cousin, the corgi shifter, Nog, and you have not only a means to an end, but a very fun twist to their tale.

This is most definitely a very slow burn. So slow, that it really even take a while before you start to even pick up on the chemistry between them, but eventually it starts to take hold, and it’s a very fun back and forth between them. If you’ve read previous books in this season of Immortal Vices and Virtues, you’ll recognize that the timeline overlaps with many of the events in those other books, which is cool to see things from an alternate perspective while we get this story unfolding. Both Oberon and Sin have quite intriguing back stories, and they way everything folds together by the end is most definitely worth the burn. I think my biggest thing was that I wished the chemistry hit a little sooner….a super slow burn is great, but I want that tension to be there right away, and it wasn’t quite there. But the extra twists, and different journey for Sin and Oberon overall makes for a great story.

Original review

This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Heather Hildenbrand!

Spurn Me is the fourth standalone book in the third season of the Immortal Vices and Virtues: Shadow Shifter Bonds, and tells the story of Sin and Oberon.

Yay, another Immortal Vices and Virtues book! I was so excited when I saw Spurn Me on my Kindle! This Fantasy Romance universe is such an amazing universe with interesting characters and stories with the right amount of romance, action, spice and more! I'm in love with this series, and if you're a fan of Romantasy, then you should definitely check out all the books in the Immortal Vices and Virtues world! There's definitely a book for you because this series has different tropes and couples with one mate or multiple mates.

Spurn Me is the fourth book in the third Immortal Vices and Virtues season. This book is about Sin and Oberon. We've already met these characters in one of the previous books, but it doesn't really matter if you haven't read the first three books in the series. Each book in the Immortal Vices and Virtues universe is a standalone book. I really enjoyed reading about Sin and Oberon, they were such fun characters to read about, and I really liked their story. It was also really nice to read about Kieran and Sabrina from Haunt Me, the third book in the first Immortal Vices and Virtues season.

I'm a big fan of the third season, this season just hits differently? I don't know how to explain it but this season is really really good. (But to be honest, season 1 and 2 were also amazing!) The Immortal Vices and Virtues universe is such an amazing and addictive book world. I cannot get enough of these stories and characters, and I hope there will be more seasons! I'm excited to read the fifth book in the third Immortal Vices and Virtues season, and I'm looking forward to reading about the next happy ending!

Love Oberon and Sin

I just love this shared world so much.
In this installment, we get Sin and Oberon story. Yes, the scary sister of the new queen and the mysterious fae that we all wanted to know more about from the other side of the portal ....come on, you know you did too. Turns out there's way more to both of them than I was expecting. This story will suck you in, and before you know it, you have read the entire thing. We get cameos from several different people, meet some new ones that I hope we get to know more about. And a HEA that they both deserve. I adore both of these characters so much

Love it so much! ❤️‍🔥

I enjoy nothing more than the enemies to lovers trope; every interaction between Sin and Oberon was super charged, sexy, funny, couldn't get enough of these two wonderful characters! 😍
And I have to mention the crossovers, because the MC from previous books interacting / appearing constantly, is something I love about this Universe, because every one of them is so special and unique and I love them all! 🤗🥰
I think I'm loving this season even more than the previous ones, that fantastic it is! 🖤

Ok I don’t know what it is about the Shadow Shifter bonds Season of IV&V that just slaps. But they do. Every single book!
In Spurn Me we follow Sin and Oberon after meeting them in the previous books. Getting to follow them though out this book as they navigate things completely different than what they could have thought. The bickering between them was top notch.

We finally get Sin and Oberon's story, and what a story it is. I loved every minute of it, it was such an enjoyable read, I'm kind of sad I'm finished the book! Nog had me laughing throughout and now I feel like he needs his own story. These conjoined worlds and characters all these amazing authors are creating is amazing, each one bringing its own flavour. I can't wait to see what the next story will entail.

I loved this book!

Spurn Me absolutely hooked me with the hilarious banter and snark between Sin, the FMC, and Oberon, the MMC. I adored the enemies to lovers, forced proximity, one bed, fae, Oberon's shocking backstory, and that ending!

I giggled so many times while reading, and found the little light-hearted moments throughout to be just perfect.

This book can be read as a standalone, but there are lots of character cameos, so having some prior knowledge of the previous books in series will definately make it more enjoyable.

☆I received an ARC of this book from the author. All thoughts are my own honest opinions.☆

A bit annoying to read, DNF @ 12%

I was confused by all of the 5 star ratings until I read the actual comments and saw people were given free copies for “honest reviews”.

The book starts off with a tongue in cheek disclaimer from the author that she doesn’t feel the need to explain the lore of the story because the main character Oberon is a know-it-all who will dive deeper into things in the following chapter. It’s a standalone book in a shared universe, so there’s a bunch of time spent describing random people because of course they have made or will make an appearance in another book. You are introduced to the female lead from Oberon’s perspective, and he spends so much time describing everyone that it’s unclear what’s going on or who the female lead even is for a while.

Oberon was meant to be king of some faraway place but he was betrayed by his mate after their crowning ceremony. He manages to kill her just as she banishes him to hell. Oberon makes friends in hell while stuck there for 500 years, and is helping one of his bros track down their missing soul when we meet the female lead, Sin.
She is involved in some sort of ritual (?) being performed using the missing soul, which is trapped in her sister’s body.

Oberon is all for killing the woman who houses his friends soul and disgruntled to find his friend unwilling to hurt the woman because they are mates. I’ll admit I haven’t read every book in this series, so I’m unsure if the scene is so rushed and confusing because this event already happened in another book.

Oberon and his buddies kidnap and separate the women, and Oberon spends weeks thwarting Sin’s attempts to free her sister. I found myself eye-rolling and starting to skim as both characters kept talking about how annoying but attractive the other was. As a reader, I am also annoyed but not attracted.

I think a primary issue for me was the way the book is written in first person. We are trapped in the minds of two characters who monologue and detail things like they’re teenagers. This may be a hit for young adult readers, but I couldn’t force myself to continue after Sin called Oberon a “jerkface” during a failed attempt to get to her sister. He carries her away on his shoulders and takes the time to smack her ass for the trouble. Does this sound like an interaction between a woman trying to save her sister and the man that took her? Never mind that we the audience can assume her sister is in no real danger as a possible main character of a separate book.

Thinking on it, I’m not sure I’ve ever been able to complete a book from this author. She just pops out a new book every month or so and I convince myself the premise will be interesting enough to carry the juvenile writing. Spoiler alert, it is not.

Sizzling Character Chemistry in a Fast-Paced, Immersive Story Balances the Need for More Editing

I struggled with my rating for Spurn Me. First, the good. I absolutely loved the story! So far, this is my favorite book in season 3 of Immortal Vices and Virtues (IV&V). The personalities are great, and if you are an avid IV&V reader, you will catch the overlapping timelines and character cameos. The slow burn, push and pull between rivals, Sin and Oberon, was amazing. Bonus, it was paired with independent, emotional growth as they journeyed together and towards each other. This made the romance and pacing more believable and special (especially since it is a standalone). Finally, the story was just fun.

Now the negative. It took me a minute to adjust to the third person writing. While it is not my preference, it is also not a real reason to decrease the stars. There were a few pacing issues around the relationship development (love versus lust). But those were negligible in the big picture, and overall expected given that this is a standalone book. What really bothered me were the editing issues that pulled me from the story. In particular, the spelling/word mistakes. It took a 5-star read down to 4-stars for me.

Here is the abbreviated review:

✨Length: Novel

🗡️Genre: Paranormal romance/dystopian fantasy – shifters, fae, magic, ghosts, etc.

👑POV: Third person both the female & male main characters

💀Age: Adult

✨Warnings: Language, violence/murder, forced proximity, spice, cheating (not main characters), attempted sexual assault (by a secondary character)

🗡️Spice: Slow burn, push-pull, arguing between rivals builds to detailed, consensual encounters on page

👑Violence: Vengeful murder, shifter violence, and exploding corpses.

💀Editing: I was pulled from the story several times by spelling, and wrong words errors.

✨World: Post-supernatural-apocalypse Earth & Parallel, portal world, Avalon

🗡️Series: Immortal Vices and Virtues: Shadow Shifter Bonds (Season 3) - interconnected standalones

👑Tropes: Rivals to lovers, only one bed, fated mates – both rejected and second chance, revenge, exiled royalty, chosen family

💀Ending: Complete, standalone story

✨Reread & recommend? Absolutely, yes!

Oberon and Sin

Oberon was once High King of Avalon, the Fae realm, that is until he was betrayed. Sent to Tartarus, he was freed when Caius opened the portal again, and is determined to find his way back to Avalon, and to get revenge.

Sin isn’t happy that Oberon seems to be following her around. She’s a powerful death fae, but knows little about her heritage, except that Oberon apparently knows more about it than she does, and he wants her help to get back to Avalon.

This is an enemies to lovers story, of a sorts, mostly because despite her attraction to him, Sin is determined to dislike Oberon on principle.
For his part, Oberon is reluctantly intrigued by Sin, and although he is initially set on using her, he finds himself rather enjoying her prickly personality in short order.

This book features a number of cameos from previous books in the Immortal Vices and Virtues world. In addition to all the Shadow Shifter characters we would expect to meet, there are a few from the first season. It’s not imperative that you have read the books before this one, but do expect small spoilers if you haven’t, (and yes, Nog appears in both his corgi and human forms).

An enjoyable story in the series, this one features a tale of second chances, positive influences, and misjudged characters. There’s plenty of action, and adventure, as well as some steamy scenes, but perhaps the best part was the very satisfying ending; where some characters get their just deserts!

An entertaining read, fans of the series (and the other stories set in the world) will enjoy this story of revenge and romance. Recommended for urban fantasy and PNR fans.

Tempers fly but love prevails!

Oberon and Sin’s story, a slow burn romance with enemies to lovers! I really enjoyed getting to know more about Oberon and Sin, who we were introduced to in Mate Me. They are both headstrong and determined. You really feel the hate they have for each other as it changes into something more and unexpected to them. They never thought they would end up together, but love prevails.

A story of betrayal and sweet revenge, that morphs into something more, something better. I don’t want to give too much away, there are a lot of developing relationships in this book. We get an appearance from Kieran and Sabrina from Haunt Me. Kieran is Sin’s half brother who she fears wants to kill her. I love the fact that her cousin Nog is a part of their story, he brings some comedy into this action-packed love story. We have other visitors in the book, like Ysabeau from Reject Me and all the family and friends of Oberon and Sin.

Amanda Pillar has unique ways of describing things that add an interesting beauty or a moment of laughter. There were several lines that stuck with me. One of my favorites “it reminded her of emerald ribbons weaving across a dark tapestry, sewing a story amongst the stars.” Made me pause to really imagine the elegance in that statement. Another was “hopping through her living room like a deranged kangaroo”. That made me laugh. There are so many more wonderful things in this book. Check it out today and join the adventure of Oberon and Sin!

If you've followed along with the series then you know Raegan, the MFC from the very first book had a sister, and her name was Sin. Well, Spurn Me is Sin's and Oberon's story and like every book in this series so far, it was freaking epic.

From the previous books I kinda wasn't expecting Oberon to have the dark edge that he does but after reading about his past, yeah I can see where the darkness comes from but at least he still has a sense of humor. As for Sin, she came with her own warning label, much like a certain kelpie. I hate that she made herself smaller for other people but I love how fierce her heart is.

Oberon and Sin make for a combustible match, they're more of a light-a-match and watch-it-burn type of couple. They have these mini battles with each that I just delighted in, although I did feel bad for Sin because she seemed to be on the losing end more often than not.

Out of all the books in the IMVaV universe, Spurn Me is the first that is fae-focused and I'm loving it. The fae have always been in the background but not much was really said about them so I enjoyed seeing them in more detail, the powers, learning about their side of the portal, and more. This story just kept surprising me, not only with the characters' actions but how Amanda decided to play the story out. There were so many twists and turns, Amanda sure did shake things up.

What a happy albeit chaotic ending. Spurn Me was such a fun read and an excellent addition to the series.

Spurn Me is a spicy standalone paranormal romance set in the Immortal Vices and Virtues universe, but fourth in IVV: Shadow Shifters Bonds.

Do you search a new grumpy fae? Search no more! Oberon is grumpy fae-shifter and the former High King of the Fae who has been betrayed and banish in Tartarus by his fated Mates. His panther and him are so stubborn and it was entertaining to read. Sin, a death fae, is perhaps his ticket for revenge in Avalon. She is ready to kill for her family and I loved it. He decides to play dirty to make her follow him. This creates shenanigans that make me giggle so many times while reading because he used Nog, her cousin, who is a corgi shadow shifter with more heart than brains.

We definitely need his book. Spurn Me absolutely hooked me with the hilarious banter and snark between Sin, the FMC, and Oberon, the MMC. The enemies-to-lovers dynamic was perfect. There were so many plot twists that kept my interest while reading. I highly recommend reading this book and this universe. The Immortal Vices and Virtues universe is such an amazing and addictive book world. I cannot get enough of these stories and characters.

You will find in this book:
🐺Paranormal Romance
⚔️Enemies-to-lovers
🪢Forced Proximity
❤️‍🩹Rejected Mate
🔥Slow burn
✌️Dual POV
🛏️One bed
🌶️Spice

Spurn Me is the book you don't want to miss. This details Sin's and Oberon's story and it is a classic "hate to love" story and you're going to devour it.
You're going to start the story out with Oberon. He's just claimed the crown of Avalon, and he thinks things are going great. His mate on the other hand is struggling with the testing of the crown. But...like the good guy that he is...he lends...a hand. But what does he get for his efforts, trust and love? Betrayal! Gasp! Right?! For that betrayal, he gets a touch of revenge, but he's still cast out. Not cool.
Now, remember when we met Sin? Yeah, when Caius broke out of Tartarus. Well, that's when Oberon discovered...there is something more about Sin that what appears. She's a death fae, but is there something more?
This book is crazy good. You get Sin - who is one of the most stubborn characters you'll find, Oberon - who simply wants to reclaim his throne, and if that requires some manipulation...so be it! Then you have Sin's cousin, Nog, and when he's not being absolutely adorable, he's being a major pain in everyone's existence. LOL!
Packed with drama, slow-burn romance that leads to some deliciously steamy scenes, and more than a little chaos, this book is going to keep you coming back for more with a great ending to top it all off.

Spurn Me - Immortal Vices and Virtues - Series 3- Shadow Shifter Bonds

I am thankful to be on the ARC team cause I get a sneaky peak before everyone else but it does mean I can rave about how good the series is and not a lie passes my lips because I have not read a bad one from this series and I’ve been on board since series 1, book one baybeeeee!

I say this in every review (cause I care for you and don’t want you to miss anything, with the IVV world) here we have a series of books that link in together but can be read as standalone books but better read in order so you get the in jokes, references and glimpses of past or future main characters!

Okay time to read…

Death & Diamond - one of the newer former houses leaders,if I remember correctly, and nephew of Elias (king of blood and Beryl) Kieran makes a cameo appearance breaking the forth wall! Love a wee flashback and some added history to our characters!

Wowzers this was good. I could not put it down.

Sin (who we have met previously) and Oberon’s story was that of hoodwinks, broad truths and binding spells but oh boy was it a good one.

I blasted through this in no time at all.

Seriously. Brilliant.

I was laughing one minute, crying the next.

This book just blew the doors open on unexpected reunions! Imagine stumbling back into some of your favorite characters, only to discover hidden connections, unresolved tension, and a whole new adventure brewing. Get ready to dive back into this world – it's about to get intense!

The story takes us on a trip across several locations: The Crossroads, Ireland, and, of course, Avalon! The prologue sets the scene perfectly, giving us a glimpse into Oberon's past, and Kieran's intro had me hyped for what was to come!
Let's just say Oberon and Sin are NOT best buds at the start of the book. But who knew forced togetherness could be so... delicious? (Don't worry; I'm not spoiling anything, but it's a bumpy ride!).
Their banter had me cracking up often, while Nog's antics left me facepalming all the time.
All the characters, major and minor, felt real and engaging – loved that!
The pacing was spot-on, with action sprinkled throughout to keep the story (and adrenaline) pumping.

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book, and overall, it's another fantastic addition to this amazing series! I devoured it in one sitting—I just couldn't put it down! I can't wait for the next one!

For Sin, keeping secrets and not drawing attention to herself had not been easy. That kept her anxious and suspicious of everyone. And moreover, suddenly finding herself with her will be forced, struggling with her feelings and conflictive emotions, relatives not helping and her freedom in danger, that was more than she could tolerate. The time had come for her to become master of what she had feared for so long. She needed all her strength. Oberon had seen a path to achieving what he longed for, but, taking one step forward and two steps back, he did not seem to have the necessary resources to achieve it. Denial was doing him no good and recruiting others seemed to make things difficult. I was amused by the bickering between Oberon and Sin and the adventures of the corgi. A whole struggle of wills, attraction, and power. I was interested in how Sin and Oberon managed to keep their secrets hidden and I was struck by how fate had in store for both, a second chance. Enjoyed so much the interesting plot development with situations that I did not expect and intriguing secondary characters. Action, suspense, adventure, secrets, mystery, villains, violence, romance, passion with shifters, vampires, witches and a variety of ghosts, everything!

I really can't say no to a story where the High King of Avalon has been exiled to Tartarus! It's different and unique as far as I am concerned and to add the fact he finds his second chance mate in Sin is just the cherry on top. All Sin wants to do is get to Tartarus and to her sister, all Oberon wants is to get back to Avalon and take back the throne, and he will do that by any means necessary, including if it means dragging Sin along for the ride.

I'm usually all for fast burn, but this book was definitely a slow burn but you know what, I loved it anyway. The tension between the two is amazing and the stolen kisses are hot as 'sin'. The story sucked me in from the very first page and I couldn't put it down, well apart from the fact I had a chest infection while reading it and didn't get to read as much as I normally do. I loved the fact we got to see a bit more of Nog, the now-turned shadow shifter who just happens to shift into a corgi of all things.

I'm not sure what it is about this season of IVV but I'm here for it and I love it, I want to say I think it's my favourite of the seasons so far.

This is the fourth book in the third season of the Immortal Vices and Virtues world and it definitely was a great addition to the world! This is a shared world where each book is written by a different author(s) and I love reading each take on their world.

This book revolves around Sin & Oberon, both of which we met at the very start of this season. Sin has been hiding for a very long time, but now the incredibly annoying Oberon is putting her in jeopardy of being found. Oberon has waited thousands of years to get his back what is rightfully his, and he needs Sin to do it.

These two start out with Sin hating Oberon and Oberon just using Sin, but it quickly turns into more. We get our first look at the Fae world in this book too! I loved getting to explore even more places with this book, it was a great read.

The story we've all been waiting for! First off I'll start by saying if your not reading the immortal vices and virtues do yourself a favor and jump in! Yes they are all stand alone but each story is so well done and opens up authors that you might not have heard of otherwise.
This piece was soo good! I loved how strong of an fmc Sin was. I was intrigued reading bits about her in her sister's story but to find out more was so worth it. Sin is so incredibly strong not just in power but for her family. Oberon was scorned by his fated mate and shuned to tarturus. I enjoyed the banter and connection between these two and how well fought for it was. It was so great to see the fae world and hear the tail of what happened. The ending was perfect! I won't lie I was nervous at first on how this ending would play out (no spoilers) but it was worth it.

Rating: 4.4 stars!

I adored this book! This was my first book in the series and it definitely can be read as a standalone but oh man, I want to read all of them now!

I enjoyed the world building, all the shadow shifters, fae, Gods, Celestials and many more awesome characters.

This book is about Oberon and Sin. Sin is a death fae and also a celestial but she doesn’t know about it yet, she is very powerful and always protects her family and loved ones. Oberon was a High King of Avalon until his mate betrayed him a send him to Tartarus for 5 thousand years. He is eager for revenge and to take back what belongs to him and for his plan to succeed, he needs Sin.

It is definitely an enemies-to-lovers story. Sin hates this “jerkface” and can’t stand him every time she is around him. But later she realizes that he’s actually not that bad and was always helping her and her family.

It was a very slow burn! I liked it that way, was interesting to follow how their feelings were growing.

Tho, I wanted more! I felt the ending was a little rushed. I wanted more story after they’ve reached Avalon. I liked this book and their story so much that it wasn’t enough for me!

I’ll check out other books in these series for sure! Enjoyed my time reading and diving into this amazing universe.

Thank you Goodreads Giveaways, Maatkare Books and of course Amanda Pillar for choosing me as a giveaway winner of this physical book!

Holy freaking shadowy magic, that was delicious in every single snarky, steamy and stark raving mad way!!! Sin's power may lay in death magic but her heart is a beacon of light, while making her an absolute force to be reckoned with. She has never wanted a mate but when she owes a favor to Oberon and he comes to cash in on it, the are forced to go toe to toe in their battle of wills. Oberon believes his is willing to do anything to get back the kingdom that was stolen from him but Sin is a succulent little death fae that is burrowing under his skin... OH and the little scenes that have Kieran brought a smile to my face every dang time. Love Amanda's work she never and I mean never disappoints me.

I am so angry about how carelessly flawed this book is. I cannot fathom how it was professionally published, it’s embarrassing.

It’s a part of a series but it gets EVERYTHING about the rest of the series wrong.

Example? Sure! THEY GOT THE NAME OF A PAST MAIN CHARACTER ENTIRELY WRONG.

CORBIN?!?!? Who is that?!?!?!

I understand this series is written by multiple authors and each book was intended to stand alone, but it’s all happening in the same world at the same time YOU CANNOT GET NAMES WRONG!!!!

Who published this and didn’t notice the names are wrong!???? Is this a sixth grade book report??????

Every other book in the series was first person and all of a sudden this one isn’t. It’s just all bad.

Really, really bad.

LOVED it!! Magical, steamy and funny!

I love this series more and more with each story! It's like a family reunion each time I read because we've come to know and love so many of these characters! This was Sin and Oberon's story and I immediate fell in love. They have the whole enemies to lovers vibe and it's perfection. There's also the one bed trope, fated mates, rejected mates,. second chance mate and Oberon nails "no one touches her" vibe! It's got tension, angsty and so much steam! Also, I love the entire Santiago family! They are a rambunctious family and you never know what to expect with them. But they are so loyal and devoted to each other, it brings so much heart to the story!

Spurn Me

More please!! I absolutely loved this addition! I also enjoyed the crossover characters like Kieran from previous Immortal Vices and Virtues books.

Oberon and Sin were awesome! They were full of banter, passion, hate/love and just so entertaining to read!

Sin was certainly a spitfire who had no problem putting Oberon in his place.

Oberon had a lot to learn and I enjoyed his arc throughout the story!

I also loved the addition creatures, characters, and glimpses of other worlds that were presented in the story.

There were so many fantastic tropes in this one like: enemies to lovers, rejected mates, second chances, banter, forced proximity, found family, morally grey characters, unique magical creatures, and so much more!!

This series doesn’t miss.. they’re all great BUT this one is one of my favorites, and I’m so glad we got Oberon and Sin’s story! Oberon and Sin gave us a delicious slow burn with plenty of banter along the way. Not to mention Nog who had me dying laughing through out the book. The plot and pace was great with adventure and action mixed in. This book is a stand-alone like the rest of the series, and can be read as such, but does feature characters from other books in the series (which are awesome and I recommend reading too). Any new or current lover of the romantasy genre should read this book!

Holy bookhangover, Batman!! I seriously can't get enough of these two and their fighting as a love language is the microtrope I NEED more of. Unlike the previous books, this one gives you a little of Oberon's backstory, leaving you falling for him already. I loved and admired Sin's strength, protectiveness, and quick wit. The tension and chemistry between them is off the charts and I reveled in their every interaction. And then there's Nog...the BEST side character and comic relief perhaps ever. This chaotic corgi stole my heart and kept me cracking up every time he appeared. If you even remotely like pnr, do yourself a favor and read this!

I got given this book to read in return for a honest review.

Ok so Oberon and Sin and are not fated mates. They don't have that instant connection pulling them together. If anything they annoy each other just by existing.

Oberon is using Sin to start with to get his revenge after being betrayed by own true mate. He see's her as a pawn, a means to an end. Thankfully his animal counter part is much better than he is and much more likeable as the story goes on. At some point the situation between them changes and makes for some very passionate reading.

It's an interesting adventure for sure and I did enjoy reading it.
