Useful background reading for me, particularly when researching my recent crime novel, "In my Liverpool home", which features a poisoning case.

This book is a weird mix of being both too high level and too detailed. It feels a bit inconsistent with what bits are pitched at people with no prior knowledge and what bits are pitched at people with advanced chemistry.
As an overview it was okay but only peripherally useful to my field.
