A compendium of a bunch of bog-standard soups you can find all over the internet, with a sprinkling of soups no one would ever make ever (unless maybe once if they're some weird inveterate foodie).

I was wondering how they'd fit 500 soups into 288 pages, when the recipes go "1 page soup, 1 page photo"... this is how:
"Variation: Crumble a handful of potato chips on top and serve.
Variation: Substitute white wine for the vermouth."
...Etcetera. Boo, hiss.

#3 in my read-through-the-bookshelf challenge.

A surprisingly useful cookbook. There were quite a few I want to try. Each recipe has a photo and basic instructions (the order to add ingredients, how long to cook each step). There aren’t actually 500 recipes... there are a lot! But some of the 500 are simple variations of previous recipes. I don’t mind though. This cookbook gives plenty of ideas of what to make for supper!

Looking forward to trying some of these recipes especially the hot, both warm and spicy, soups during this miserable winter. Some of the chilled ones, I will try this summer. I shall be leaving out the garlic as it does not agree with me. Hope it does not change the overall taste too much, but I have no choice. Of course, all of the previous stated info depends on when the kitchen people give me back my kitchen - the 14 of February began month # 9 ! Absolutely unbelieveable !!

This book has a huge variety of soups, and there are several that I'd like to make. I've tried one so far that was very good.

Includes a recipe for Hungarian sour cherry soup. Not as good as the soup you get in Hungary, but still one that I make over and over.
