I can’t put Grasso’s books down!
I love this series! I wish the Miles were a real family, and I hope we see Jillian and Marti Tanaka together in the next book. Also, what is Janie up to? The Miles family saga… Mr. Grasso, I so admire your way with a story and how you weave the characters, dialogue, action, and everything else together to engage the reader. I started reading WWI and WWII historical novels and memoirs during COVID-19, and then your Miles series pulled me into North Korea and Vietnam. Of all the memoirs, novels, and dry histories, your family saga series is my absolute favorite. I look forward to each release. Your imagination has created for me a real family, and I want to know what has happened to Jif’s sister! SMILE.
(I was born when my father was a student at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey in the late fifties, so I especially loved your writing about Fort Ord and the family’s home in Monterey. My own younger son was born when his father was a student at the same school 28 years later. I shopped at the Fort Ord commissary.)

Out of 21 books by this author, this is the 21st I have read (even if we're missing 20 other reviews on Goodreads). And, even after all this time, I have neither tired of the style or the action. In fact, of the Vietnam series, I count No Bad Troops among the best. Rather than several engagements scattered throughout the novel like we've seen in previous books, this one focuses on one prolonged assault that pushes Jif and his battery to the very limit of their combat effectiveness. I believe 1/3 of the book is dedicated to this one drag-out brawl in the dark.
No Bad Troops is among the rare book that I read in a matter of days versus weeks. I have been following this author's releases since the Korean War series, and I will certainly be picking up Book 7 when it releases in December.

Series continues to deliver
Often times with a series this long It's hard for me to keep my interest. However with this series, I find myself eagerly anticipating the next book. As someone who grew up during the Vietnam conflict, I recall some of the battles talked about in this series. I believe anyone who recalls that time, no matter their political view on the war, will find this fictional series a good read. Unfortunately
war is not pretty and neither are many of the scenes in this collection.

Good story of the troubles of the Viet Nam war.
Even though I read in the preface that this story was fictional, I was in the military during that war and heard many similar issues that are described in Grasso's stories. They are told in a way that makes it had to set books down until finished and seeking the next book( 7). Thanks Wm. Grasso!

Great book!
I really enjoyed this book just as I have enjoyed all the other this author has written. His books are fast passed and believable action. I'm already looking forward to his next release in this series.

No Bad Troops
Another great story by Peter Grasso. He never says away from the absurdity of war, especially the Vietnam War.
I enjoy his strong characters, tough situations, and presentation of moral dilemmas.

Book 6
Jifs story is coming to an end as the Americans role in Viet Nam is coming to a end. Enjoy reading Mr. Grass is stories of war as he writes well researched novels and lets the readers feel they are in the story. Can't wait till the next one comes out in a couple of months.

Great Vietnam war novel
Having read all of Grasso’s Miles and Moon novels, his series with Jif Miles in Vietnam is one of the best. Tough and uncompromising characters in a world of hurt. Great addition to the series.

I started out liking this series. But sadly it has become pedestrian and ridiculous. Lt. Miles makes no mistakes. He always has the right answers. Always knows what to do. He is near morally perfect and never makes a misstep. If only we had him in every war.

I graduated from college in1969 and joined the USMC. I can relate to Grasso's novels of Viet Nam! I too was a "Butterbar"! The series of novels are well researched! Thank you, Mr Grasso!

Darn Good Read
Once you start you can't put it down. I stayed up late at night reading it. He has a 7th book coming out soon for the series. I'm looking forward to reading it.
