A dark, horrifying story of romance and supernatural revenge.Described by the Big Issue as an exciting fantasy of a story that will keep literary thriller fans guessing until the end. This most underground of books brings the ancient Mabinogion tales of Wales screaming into the 21st century, with a heroine drawn from the powerful goddess’s of pre-Christian religion and a hero so originally engaging that a few words here would not do him justice.

I am a sucker for stories about Celtic pagan mythology, especially brought into the present day, and even more especially containing murder! So, I couldn’t wait to get my teeth into this – a book promising plenty of all the above.

We open as a mysterious stranger named Kerry Taliesin – named after the Celtic poet, subject of many legends himself, including that he was the bard in the court of King Arthur, and who also wrote in Middle Welsh (more popular than you might give it credit for, this language) – arrives in a remote farming community in Wales to take over his aunt’s farm after her death.
