When a hunky, human rock star stands up at his best friend’s wedding, he never expects to encounter vampires, werewolves, and the woman of his dreams. But she’s not what she seems… she’s half a faerie.
Will Rossi was the male half of the hottest singing-songwriting team in the country, until his ex-partner split up their act and left a trail of unflattering stories in her wake. With paparazzi hounding him and creditors harassing him, Will desperately needs a change of luck.
Traveling to the Midwest for his buddy’s wedding isn’t the lucky break Will had in mind—until he meets the wedding planner—and now he can’t stop thinking about Cassia Spellman. Whatever it takes, Will must see her again, but first he’s getting his eyes examined—because everyone in her quirky town appears to have fur, fangs, or wings.
Single mom Cassia has her hands full raising her faerie daughter and planning weddings for Door County’s supernatural population. The last thing she needs is Will Rossi in her life, with his velvety brown eyes and stubbled jawline.
Besides, she can’t fall for him anyway—he’s human, she’s half faerie—and the elder council would never approve. Since Cassia and Will could never be together, she’s determined to stop thinking about him.
Why can’t Rossi the Rocker just take a hint and go away?

Such a sweet story of finding your second-chance-at-happiness love❤️ Cassia and Will were so cute and I enjoyed visiting Riddle Hill, the secret town of supernaturals. Olivia is the cutest faerie of all time! Can’t wait to return to mooncrest inn for the sequel.
From the very first line, I wanted a push blanket and some hot chocolate while I escaped into this world! The vibes are sweet and cozy and I absolutely adored it. Plus, I really enjoyed Toni's writing style that has a descriptive, casual charm to it.
I've seen other reviewers compare it to a Christmas Hallmark movie, and it really is -- complete with a barn and everything! -- but even better.
The characters are all lovable, I love how this small town rallies together, and the gargoyles are a fun touch.
I'm excited that Toni is doing a series of books for Door County so I can look forward to seeing these characters again!
PS have snacks on hand when you read because the meals Toni described in this book had me drooling! 😂
Reader notes: No profanity, sweet kisses only
Thank you, Toni, for the early copy! I'm leaving this honest review voluntarily.
"I'm officially armorless, defenseless, and hopeless when it comes to Will Rossi."
This was such a fun cross between a holiday Hallmark movie and a contemporary fantasy novel. I loved every page! It was so charming and filled with magic. I highly recommend reading it in the upcoming months, preferably with a hot drink in your hand and a warm blanket on your lap.
What I love about small-town romances, is how involved all the side characters are. I wanted to spend a little time in the Sit for a Spell Cafe with the entire Spellman family. The whole book felt like a warm hug! Especially the love between Cassia and Will, which was swoon-worthy. I can't wait for the second book!

Rating: 4.5/5 I received an eARC for my honest opinion.
This was such a cute, fun, cozy fantasy read. Plus, it had a bonus to it as well. It happens during the Holiday season Christmas. It has a cozy but little bit weird dinner, sweet welcoming people, small town romance, a rock star and a wedding planner, supernatural world, and great fun humor. It is also a closed-door romance as well. This author knows how to write a romance with a lot of chemistry and make it still make it swoonworthy without all the R rated scenes.
This book is about a rock star who is the best man at a wedding that Cassia is the planner at. She has always had a crush on this rock star and would have never thought he would like a woman like her, plus she is half faerie, and he has no clue about the world she comes from. Over the course of a few weeks Will and Cassia start to spend more and more time together and their bond starts to get stronger, even though one of them is trying to protect their heart. Cassia isn’t just scared about her own heart but her young daughters as well, Olivia. Will love beat the odds in this book?
I love Cabell’s writing style; she makes it so easy to read her books in a day or two. I love how the pace of this book is just perfect for the romance reader, slow and fast in all the right places. She gives you all the feels in this book, with the picture-perfect holiday season and it being in a small town, had my heart swooning. It really did feel like I was watching a hallmark Christmas movie. I loved the plot, and I didn’t notice anything that was off with how everything was written down. I really loved the characters in this book, from Will to Cassia to Oliva and honestly everyone in the small town.
Cassia was a great MFC, she is guarding her heart after having it broken by her ex and not just her heart but her daughters as well. She is a single parent that works 2 different jobs to support her family, but that doesn’t stop her from helping her friends if they need her. She is so kind, funny, and she can be a little hard at times but that is defense, I liked that she was full of sunshine all the time but when it all gets to her, she does open up to her friends and family members. Will is a great MMC, I liked how he is nice, caring, thoughtful, funny and how he treats Cassia's daughter. It was just sweet. I liked that even though he thought he was going crazy seeing strange things like wolves or just their furry tails poking out and vampire fangs he wasn’t calling everyone out, but thought he was just having a breakdown due to his music career lol.
This book is full of swoony worthy moments, magical creatures, great food and company, weddings and romance and so much more. I can’t wait to read book 2!!!
I want to thank Toni Cabell for the opportunity to review this book .
Cozy fantasy is new for me, but I loved it! I would love nothing more than to grab one of those travel brochures that Toni has shared and go book a vacation to Riddle Hill, Wl. The feeling a mix of Harry Potter meets Hallmark meets Diners, Driveins, and Dives. Cassia and Will are the sweetest couple here. The fast fall is enjoyable, the verbal scenery is spectacular, and little Olivia is a hoot! Will has healthy swagger, Cassia is competent and loving. She's shut herself off because of hurt, but Will is the perfect person to love her. I finished this story with warm fuzzies, a hunger for a spinach and goat cheese frittata, and a hankering to buy gargoyle decor. Two thumbs up!
I don't typically read urban fantasy, but I've been on a bit of a rom com kick lately, so when this book popped up in my feed, I thought I'd give it a try. It was delightful. Cassia is a typical single mom juggling multiple jobs while trying to create a good life for her daughter. Only unusual part is she's half Faerie. Will is a typical, recently divorced rock star. Only he's actually a decent person who values family and community. And he's human.
It was so much fun to see the flashes of supernatural happening around Will and the way the entire town came together to gaslight him. I don't typically approve of gaslighted, but in this case, it was totally understandable. It also seems like these types of books don't wait so long for the humans to figure things out, but this one happened so well.
I loved the twist on vampires (drinking something other than blood). Also werewolves who were mostly able to control themselves--having werewolves as firefighters is genius. And the gargoyles were particularly hilarious. I only wished we could have seen more magic. But there are reasons for that. And maybe we will in book 2, which I am starting to read right about now...
Oh my goodness this story! This is not like my usual reads nor is it something I would generally pick up but I absolutely loved it and can't wait to read more in this world!
This is literally the cutest, most adorable, fantasy rom-com! I mean the FMC'S middle name is Tinkerbell 🤭 how fun is that! I adore Cassia's (the FMC) and Will's (the MMC) relationship! They are super sweet, super cute, they've both been burned in love before as their both divorcees, and scared of what could happen if they loved again. More so on Cassia's part, but I love seeing her open up, and allow Will into her heart, and I love his excitement to date her and he is so thoughtful and mindful of her feelings and thoughts. He is literally THE BEST! Cassia also has a daughter, Olivia who Will is great with, and she loves him right back!
It also has a whole town full of side characters that are so lovable and add so much to the story!
And the setting is so cute, so well done, realistic and yet quirky and not of this world! Super fun town! And such a fun story! I couldn't get enough! It's funny, the story's got it's ups and downs, even some fight scenes, brief but there 🤭 I like the pacing too, and it's very detailed and the way that the whole story is playing out and you can imagine it all!
Content: No-Spice/kisses only, no swearing
(I listened as an audiobook so this part is the review for that) One thing that makes me love audiobooks is that it brings the characters to life! It's like your hearing their voices and the narrator, Lisa did an amazing job!! and I'm picky about my narrators, some I just can't handle. But she does really well with all the emotions even the small ones, you can hear them in every word, the joy, the pain, the fear, the excitement, the worry, the uncertainty every little detail. This is also dual POV, and she did great with both sides! Super easy to follow too, even sped up which I loved, she speaks very clearly, just it was so good!
I have no words to accurately describe how much I enjoyed this one, both the story and how Lisa did at voicing the characters!
This magical, whimsical, and lovely story filled with small town and holiday vibes was a treat to read!
Will Rossi just wants to hideaway from the paparazzi after his ex-wife split up their singing duo, and has spread horrid stories about him as she takes off in her own career. When invited to be the best man at his best friend’s wedding, Will figures this short trip to a small town wedding won’t do much for his career. Instead, it puts him on the radar of Cassia Spellman, a single mom who works as a wedding planner, Cassia Spellman is extremely annoyed that her client’s best man showed up astronomically late to the rehearsal dinner. Will has a different reaction. He can’t get his mind off of Cassia Spellman, who it seems has unknowingly put a spell on him. But Cassia knows that they’d never work out, aside from the fact that she is totally into him since you know, she’s half a faerie and Will is human. And Will feels like he is seeing strange things like furry tails, vampire fangs, and pointy eyebrows but figures his plummeting music career could be making him crazy.
This story was filled with swoony moments, holiday cheer, magical creatures, delicious food, and lots of happy weddings. The characters were so relatable and the added moments of humor was so much fun!
I cannot wait to read book 2!
Romantic Content: Clean, Mild Kisses and Attraction
TW: Illness of Loved Ones, Trauma, Slander, Paparazzi Harassment, Abandonment
This is such a cute contemporary romantasy! I loved all the fun little magical elements that made up this charming small town. I will absolutely be reading the next book to revisit this world.
Oh my goodness this was the cutest fantasy romcom!! Take your favorite Hallmark Christmas movie, say… A Very Country Christmas, but mix it with Hotel Transylvania and you get this super cute, fun and flirty Christmas romantasy. You get all the best Hallmark moments like dog sitting, picking out a Christmas tree, breakfast at the diner, coffee at the cafe, plus there might also be some faeries, vampires, and gargoyles. The audio is fantastic.

Who is Cassia Spellman? Does she have some secret, magical superpower? All I know is I've fallen under her spell.
They're falling all over themselves to become better acquainted with the human rockstar in our midst. And I'm doing everything I can to keep him at a safe distance.

This work of art is the perfect blend of hallmark Christmas movie with small town fantasy.
I devoured this book too quickly! It was a light-hearted ray of sunshine with charming characters, an exciting plot that keeps you guessing, and a sweet romance, all taking place with a sparkling Wisconsin Christmas as a backdrop.
This is a clean romance that was so enjoyable to read. As a personal note, I was going through a tough week and ended up turning to Half A Faerie for serenity, and subsequently finished the last 30% of the book in a day.
If you enjoy supernatural characters, small town charm (think Gilmore Girls) and a romance as sweet as the first sip of hot chocolate on Christmas morning, then you need to treat yourself to this book!
This is not my usual fare, with rock stars and paranormal towns and single moms. But I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it!
I thought that Cassia was a sweet character but I wasn't a fan of her and her daughter, Olivia's, relationship. Olivia was constantly with a babysitter or at another relative's house. I realize this is probably reality for single moms but it felt like they hardly ever saw each other. The faerie aspect was so cute and probably my favorite part. I think I could have used more of the faeries. The gargoyle painting was a wonderful and light-hearted addition. Tons of fun.
Will was a fun character. I loved how he reacted to the paranormal glimpses of the town, he was really a trooper for the whole book. His and Cassia's relationship was cute and believable, even though there was a little too much kissing for my taste. The kisses, however, were always chaste and not described and there was never a focus on body parts. So even though they kissed more than I'd like, it was still a clean and sweet romance.
I had the opportunity to read this as an ARC and here are my thoughts!
Setting: Loved the traditional tropes of Second chances, Rockstar romance, and He-falls-first woven through the setting of a fantasy town. Initially I wondered about the combination of supernatural elements when paired with a real-world side, but it was done well, introducing each major actor or shop in a way that simply worked. I adored the critters under the Cafe counter (you'll have to read to find out!)
Characters: I was delighted with the way Will is crafted! He felt like someone I would have met in my small town or on a road trip growing up. Cassia's anxiety was relatable, particularly as contrasted with the other characters. Her relationship with her family is so sweet.
Stakes: While true love is always high stakes, this was a "low external stakes" genuinely cozy read that didn't feel over-sweet or under emotional.
Pros: Well written. Perfect for holiday or cozy reading or for anyone needing a palette cleanser between darker reads or high-stress/stakes books. Believeable main characters and enchanting side characters.
Cons: (Maybe more of a pro?) but I found myself wanting more information about Cassia, her world and the people in it. I'm glad there's more books planned because I did want extra details!
Personal rating system: 4.5 Ages: Most relatable at eighteen and up, but clean for all. Recommend for anyone wanting a throughly enjoyable read or holiday romance.
I am very finicky about my romances, So if I liked it, Romance Readers are sure to love!
Half a Faerie is a sweet dual POV second chance romance WITH a paranormal twist. All swoon, no spice. And, look at that stunning cover!!
Cassia is a half-faerie (who can see magic) single mom who works two jobs. She is a server in her aunt’s café and is a supernatural wedding planner.
Will is Sam’s human best man, he has no idea that he is attending a supernatural wedding in a community populated by faeries, werewolves, vampires, elves, etc. Supers are not keen on telling humans about the supernatural. In fact, one must gain approval from the Elders which rarely happens. Will has paparazzi following him around because of his breakup with his ex-wife.
Cassia and Will have an insta-attraction. This book is their journey at a second chance at love while their exes and the paparazzi try and stand in their way.
Such an adorable read! The way he fell and his second chance of love was so well built! I enjoyed all the characters and how you really got to know them!
I always enjoy a Toni Cabell read! Read this one is less then 24 hrs. That's crazy for me!

Half a Faerie is an adorable holiday romance set in a magical small town. I absolutely enjoyed this sweet romantic story in which a former rock star meets a half faerie. The secondary characters especially Olivia, Cassia's daughter, are great and the gargoyles are fun.
Single mom Cassia is working a second job as a wedding planner when she meets recently divorced singer songwriter Will. As a human, he’s not supposed to know about the supernaturals of the town, but when he stays on after the wedding it gets hard to keep the secret and to protect her heart.
I listened to the audiobook and while the narrator was fine, the book is written in dual POV and I would have preferred if there had been dual narrators.
I really enjoyed Toni Cabell Water Witch series, so when I saw Half a Faerie I just had to read it. Wwhat a delightful tale. I loved the Gargoyles in the Cafe. This was a great clean read by an author that thanks her Heavenly Father in her author notes. Love this and cannot wait to read more.
This was such a heart warming, slow burn, and clean romance. I was smiling through this book and loving the mentions of the local football team and cities that I know all too well. The magical characters fit in this book perfectly. From faeries, to werewolves, and vampires.. they all had a role in their small town. My heart went out to Cassia, and I just wanted her to find happiness. I am 100%looking forward to book 2 in this series. If you are looking for all the feelings Hallmark movies give you but possibly in book form, this is the book for you! It has the moments of indecision, a little of the will they, wont they, self-image issues, bad break-ups, and all in a fantastical town with werewolves, fairies, and vampires! It really is fantasy meets hallmark and I loved it, it's perfect for this time of year and really gave me all the good feels I needed this last week after the toxicity everywhere. Also, I've never heard of Lisa Lynn Sandlin before but she was a top notch narrator, she definitely brought the story to life for me!
Short, sweet and magical. Half a Faerie is like a Hallmark movie but infinitely better. Perfect for the Christmas season, as that's when it's set. Spice free yet still romantic and full of second chances!
I must admit it took me 2-3 chapters to get into this book maybe it was more me tho , I very glad I did this was delightful the characters were great and the storyline was really good a well deserved 5 stars
A romantasy full of magic, vampires, werewolves, faeries, and a gorgeous human rockstar? What is there not to love?
Single mom Cassia was determined to avoid making the same mistakes as before. So when Will appears at a wedding she's planned for her friend and sparks fly, she does her best to ignore her feelings.
I loved that Will fell first and showed Cassia that he wasn't like her ex and could be the kind of man she could love forever.
There were so many favorite scenes and heartwarming moments, not to mention swoony kisses and laugh-out-loud scenes!
If you're a fan of clean romantasy, this book is perfect for you. Its engaging characters and beautiful love story will keep you hooked from start to finish. Also, I can't recommend the audiobook enough. Lisa Lynn Sandlin, the talented narrator, brought the wonderful cast of characters to life with her outstanding performance.
I cannot wait to read more in this new series, and I’m so excited that Jake’s story is next :-))
Content Guide: 🤬 No swearing. 🌶 Swoony kisses. 🗡 Mild hand-to-hand violence. 🍺 Some alcohol use (not excessive). No tobacco or drug use.
3.5 stars rounded up. I loved the town of Riddle Hill. It felt so enchanting, cozy, and wholesome. And those gargoyles! So fun to escape into this world. However, I would have liked more depth to the characters. The whole plot is the relationship, which some people love, but I like there to be more going on. Still, it was such an enchanting world that I would read the sequel to escape into Riddle Hill again.
Such a cozy, fantasy read! I absolutely love how Toni wrote about a single mother faerie! The Sip for a Spell cafe is where most of this book takes place, and it is family owned and run. I would LOVE to eat there. It would be such a magical experience. I love how everyone in this town is family! Don't get me started on how Cassia does wedding planning on the side even though she is hell-bent on never having another romantic relationship.. and then here come Will Rossi! Instant attraction on both sides, but also heartbreak and bad relationships in the past. Poor will is absolutely confused by being in a town full of supernaturals that have to keep their secret. Will thinks he is going crazy, and Cassia thinks they are hiding it well and is ready for him to leave.. or is she? This is a sweet, closed door fantasy that made my heart happy.
There are ups and downs, but this is a heartwarming book. The feelings are relatable. Sometimes I just burst out laughing. Very well written, good, clean romance. I can't wait to read more if this wonderful author's books!
I was looking for a fun read before I started a heavier book I received for Christmas and Half a Faerie by Toni Cabell popped up in my suggestions. I loved The Water Witch series by this author, so I clicked and started reading. Oh my! The town has a lot of Supers living there with the humans. It was delightful to watch Will as he caught glimpses of things that did not add up. Cassia and her daughter Olivia totally captured my heart. This story was delightful and left me so satisfied. A wonderful swoony read on the general market. No spice or language.
