This is the second book I’ve read by Lola and once again I’m so so impressed. A super light hearted, fast paced easy read that I read in a single sitting. Loved the development of both main characters, Noah and Lucy. Already excited for the next one 😃😃

This felt like a nostalgic throwback to early 2000s rom-coms (which are always the perfect comfort movies), especially with the pacing and movie magic/coincidences! Initially, Noah wasn't my favorite, but he grew on me and developed a more patient and understanding nature as you got to know him. Lucy, on the other hand, is steadfast and determined, shaped by her past and by her parents relationship. I struggled a bit to understand Lucy’s choices, but she is someone trying to navigate what her head AND her heart are saying… and can’t we all say we’ve been there before.

While I enjoyed the story, I couldn't help but feel that we needed to know more about Noah and Lucy's lives and relationship because a lot felt glossed over and I was left wanting more. The length of the story kind of limited how detailed we could go into their pasts relationship and the development of their current relationship. I think this kind of made it difficult to really connect with the characters at first.

If you're in the mood for a quick romance with a vibe that encompasses a quick and fun early 2000s rom-coms, this book is perfect. A big thank you to Lola Lockhart for inviting me to be part of your ARC team! All opinions shared are my own.

I read this book for an ARC read. I thought this book was enjoyable, and it included tropes that I normally would enjoy (such as enemies to lovers and close proximity) however I felt like this book was rushed. I originally gave this book two stars in my original review and the author complained about my review not meeting her standards. I thought this was very inappropriate to make a reviewer (especially an ARC reader) feel guilty about their review and request that I change it. So I did... to one star.

It was a short, fun, and easy read! Even if it is a short story, it felt complete and not rushed. At first, I thought the reason for them not liking each other was a bit much, but the more information we got on them, their past and current challenges in life, it became understandable. Each of them really got wrapped up in their own heads lol and this felt real to me. Sometimes it's hard to say exactly what you think.

The MMC Noah is adorable! He is very sweet, cares, and loves his family. Everything he does is for them. The FMC Lucy is hardheaded, opinionated, and damaged by family members. She is likeable, but I felt kind of bad for the hard time she was giving to Noah. Yet, I understood where she was coming from. Surprisingly, I liked the mmc more than the fmc. I felt for him and related to his struggles.

I really liked their chemistry; it was believable. The little spice we got was fun, and I laughed a couple time.

I recommend it if you want a cute fast-paced romance!

Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read this as a ARC (all opinions are mine).

This delightful tale centers around two people who hated each other in college, years later find themselves stuck next to one another on a plane. At first, they seamlessly revert back to their old arguments and palatable distain for each other. Through a series of events, the plane is delayed, and they are forced to share a room as they wait for their flight to take off when the weather clears.

Noah is on his way to a life changing job interview that would not only help his career but also his family's financial situation. Lucy is going to her father's third wedding which she dreads. However, her father would be heartbroken if she wasn't there, so she to is also invested in getting the delay over as soon as possible.

After being forced to share a room, the little bottles of liquor in the fridge provide enough of a cease fire, that the two really talk. They listen and begin to understand how each felt during that class in college. Both were young and didn't lower their defenses enough to look beyond the hurt. Noah shares how this was the first time he was part of the in crowd and he let it go to his head. He apologizes for using Lucy as the butt of his jokes. Lucy eventually understands and explains that being mocked for her fierce passion around reading caused her to be more obstinate that she would be today. His ridicule caused her to defend her feminist views in a way that might be taken as thinking she was better than anyone else. Her comments were received by Noah as elitism.

As the drinking continues, the two lower their guards and feel an emotional and physical attraction. So, waking up the next morning next to each other after a passionate evening, Lucy especially feels regret. She wants nothing more than to get out of the room before Noah wakes up with crossed fingers that the flight will take off that day. Unfortunately, mother nature didn't get the message and the two end up spending the day exploring the town.

I loved how realistically the author portrayed Noah and Lucy from college to present. We understand just how young one truly is at college regardless of how one views themselves as fully formed adults. It's having the distance of time and experience that allows them to move beyond that youthful arrogance and truly see each other.

The plot also resonated with me in that we make judgements about people based solely on how they present themselves. We don't allow for circumstances that may affect how the other person is acting or their motivation for it. Noah's commitment to his family and feeling the weight of having to provide for them is why this interview is so important. Lucy thinks it's just so he can have a better job. Noah doesn't see that Lucy's love of women authors and their books (Little Women as her favorite) means so much more than the book itself.

This book is charming, and I found it true to life. I read it in one sitting as I was compelled to find out how each reached their own inner growth and their HEA. Especially how they reconciled that what they thought to absolute may not actually be.

Definite recommendation from me and I will be looking into other books by the author.

I am always a bit amazed if writers accomplish writing a whole story with just a few days as the timeline. With Lucy and Noah the same; the whole timeline between meeting again and falling in love, is just a matter of days, while the story is still flowing and at a good speed.

It is a cute story, in which we see what assumptions can do to people. It is written with enough details to see the story unfold, not dreaded too much, and it reads surprisingly well.
The book covers the conflict and past heartache between Lucy and Noah really well, while they are finding each other in the meantime. Their insecurities, the issues they are facing in their personal lives, and the struggle Noah is facing... it is all there and feelable.

However, I wasn't sure if I would give the book 3 or 4 stars. This had to do with the fact that I don't like it if things are too obvious or too recurring, but also the fact that they fell in love in just around 24 hours or so. And at some point, I was just a bit annoyed by Lucy and her fighting spirit. I do think it was essential to the story, but it was sometimes a bit much for my taste.

The ending came with a surprisingly large gap in time, or so it seems. The ending was a bit vague, but overall I think it was good enough to get closure on the story. I am not sure if it even needed more details than what is written now, which is a good thing!

The story was captivating enough and a fun read that I enjoyed.

Reconnected Hearts is a steamy, enemies-to-lovers, forced-proximity, opposites-attract, girl gets her hunk romance. Lucia (Lucy) is a sassy, independent, and headstrong female who has been jaded by love. Noah is a hunky, adorable, golden-retriever hero whose family means everything to him. Lucy and Noah were college rivals. Lucy is traveling to her father's third wedding. Noah has a job interview for a job that could solve his financial troubles. The two were college rivals, and as they end up next to each other on the same flight, that rivalry continues. But when their flight gets grounded and they end up sharing a hotel room, things get hot, and S-T-E-A-M-Y. But Lucy has really been hurt and doesn't trust men in general. Noah wants more than a fling with Lucy. Can she let her walls down? Can Noah show her he's all in? I absolutely loved this story. I wanted to smack Lucy a few times to wake up, although she had good reasons for how she felt. Noah was such an amazing guy. They had insane chemistry, and we did get a very happy ending, but OMG was it an emotional roller-coaster to get there. I loved it!!!.

Reconnected Hearts is a book that Bookstagram made me read..haha.. The plot revolves around Lucy Marino and Noah. It is a enemies to lovers troupe but with a slight deviation from the usual plots in this genre. We being humans can make all the plans we want but in the end the only plan that seems to work is of that higher power above us all. This story also kind of moves along when in a twisted turn of fates these two are forced to spend time with each other.

This leads to a certain closeness which becomes unbearable for the two at one point of time. All the discussions and fights etc seem to be directing them towards each other but are they actually going to listen to the universe?

The plot is different but I kind of lost interest at times when it all happened in one place. Though I know in fiction the stories are usually not relatable to reality but still I felt a tinge of relatability would have been good. It kind of made me think if this can actually happen to someone which I feel lead to a reader’s block ( if that is actually a thing!!!) A good one time read but not sure if it is everyone’s cup of tea….

Reconnected Hearts Review 🩷

🌶🌶

This was such an adorable, fast-paced romance! I read it all this morning cosied up while the rain was pouring outside and I couldn't be happier 🌧

I love the way Lola writes her books, she has very natural and vivid style that really connects you to the characters, so much that felt like I was reading about my best friends and I was absolutely rooting for them the whole time.

Lucy is such a strong willed boss-ass bitch who is undoubtedly a kind and loving softie on the inside, and I love it. I felt a bit bad about how much of a hard time she was giving Noah, but she definitely had her reasons after all she'd been through.

Noah is a damaged/struggling MMC who is witty and adorable, he has younger sisters that he's basically raising himself and everything he does is for his family. Need I say more?🤤

If you love enemies to lovers, dual POV, second-chance romances then you'll absolutely love this.

lola’s back with another cute, short story! 🫶🏽
in this book, we follow lucy & noah. they’re seated next to each other on a flight but what do you know.. they knew each other. not just that.. they were each others college nemeses. coincidence? or fate? 👀

this was another adorable short romance from lola, the perfect palette cleanser in my opinion! while i preferred ‘heartbeats & hashtags’ simply because i feel like there was more to that story, this was still enjoyable! i didn’t find myself connecting to the characters as much but that is expected, seeing as we don’t dive into their backgrounds much (with it being a short story!)

lola’s writing is so easy & enjoyable! ‘reconnected hearts’ gave off adorable, rom com vibes that were great for the weather we’ve had in the uk recently! i definitely needed something quick, light & easy to read & this was just that💖

if you enjoy these tropes then defo pick this up! -
- he falls first
- forced proximity
- one bed
- enemies to lovers

Another short and sweet story from Lola!

I liked the concept of this story - a college rivals/enemies to lovers, forced proximity short novel. Lucy and Noah went to college together, and got on each others' nerves big time. After a grounded plane, they're forced to stay in the same hotel room, and from there sparks begin to fly!

I felt as though the relationship between the characters changed so rapidly over a few days, and if the book was a bit longer there would have been more room to flesh out the characters. A few of the decisions the characters made didn't seem very logical to me, and I think a bit more in depth information about their backgrounds would have helped.

I wasn't sure how the story was going to end, but I did enjoy the epilogue.

I received an ARC for this book but my views are all my own <3

I had the opportunity to be apart of the Beta team for Reconnected Hearts! I absolutely LOVED this book, it was so adorable and had everything in it I love in a romance book. I especially loved the scene at the start where Lucy and Noah met again on the plane, I thought it was soo funny and I also loved the tension between the two of them! The fact Noah was so drawn to Lucy especially gave me butterflies, he really did FALL for Lucy, and he was just so sweet throughout the whole book! This was amazing, the perfect enemies to lovers and second chance romance! I am so excited for Lola when it comes out on May 7th and for everybody to read it too! <3

ARC REVIEW - These are my opinions and mine only.

Lucy and Noah used to be arch enemies in college, they haven’t seen each other since then and they would prefer to keep it like. But unfortunately for them that didn’t happen. Lucy had to get on the next flight as she missed her first flight due to you know reading (it happens what of it). Noah also had to be on his flight for a job interview he desperately needed, he also missed his next flight. Unfortunately for both of them even further they now have to sit next to each other and get stranded due to some bad weather.

There was so much angst against both of these characters and both got to see what happened in college from both of their POV. Noah I absolutely loved, Lucy however it took a bit for me to like her especially when she was treating Noah how she didn’t want to be treated as a female.

I loved that this was a fun story but it was also quite quick. The only thing is I wish they had literally slept together and didn’t see each other for a few months type of vibe but I loved it regardless.

Reconnected Hearts by Lola Lockhart is a good, and enjoyable second chance enemies to lovers holiday beach romance read. The story has a great entertaining world building story line with an easy to read story line. The characters are great, wonderful, great development, and they have great chemistry. *3⭐️3🌶️ (look on my profile to see what my ratings mean to me)

Main Tropes:
Dual POV
College Rivals/ Enemies To Lovers
Forced Proximity
Only One Bed

Points I enjoyed in this book:
He Waited For Her At The Airport
Strong FMC
He Cares About His Sisters

Didn’t like/ improve:
For me when reading this book/novella I was wishing that it was a full length book meaning we’d get more detail. For example flashbacks of their lives also more about their relationship. I felt like it was all happening too fast. I also wished that there was more spice in the book also.

I read this as an ARC and am proud to say that I would've snagged this book once it hit shelves. This is the second book I've read by Lola and both have been really sweet, quick reads. I really enjoyed this book because I'm a sucker for a main man falling first. The only thing that I would've liked more is the back story of Noah and Lucy and a little more of a past. Other than that, the plot is there, Noah made me laugh, and Lucy is all of us on the fence.

It was a short read, cute romcom. I think it started off very well but then it got a bit confusing. I think they happened a bit too fast. Also, she ran off then when she finally got to her dad’s wedding, she went back to him because she realized she loved him… I have some minor dislikes about the book but I liked it overall.

Loved it

Lucy and Noah's story was so fun and relateable. Can actually picture it happening in real life. Like they say you can't always judge a book by its cover. Sometimes you actually have to take the time to get to know a person by talking to them instead of just going by first impressions. You never know what people are going through on any given day that makes them speak before thinking on how it gonna be interpeted. So be kind with what you say.

She misses her flight to her dad’s wedding and he misses his flight to a job interview so they are now on the same flight forced to sit next to each other. Tensions are high and made nearly unbearable when the new flight gets delayed due to weather. Can they get over their past and find their way to each other?
What a delightful love story, I enjoyed this book very much.

Um…it took me a long time to read this book and maybe that made the difference. The story just seemed a bit too far fetched that they would fall that hard in love after a day or two. The writing was good and I enjoyed the characters side stories but it just didn’t ring true to me.
