It was a fling. An all-consuming, mind-altering fling, but it was just a fling.
Something to pass the time and entertain myself with.
It wasn’t supposed to mean anything.
Yet, I can’t stop thinking about her. I can’t stop looking for her.
And when I finally find her, I will burn the world down to keep her safe.

NOTE: Davis is not a dark romance, however difficult and upsetting topics are discussed. Please visit the author's website for a full list of CW/TW.

I am absolutely WEAK for a golden retriever bad boy, so I had a feeling I was going to fall in love with Davis quickly and I did. Immediately. I’m down bad. Usually when books are less than 300 pages, I worry about the pacing being too fast leaving things feeling rushed, and that wasn’t the case here. I found the story to be well fleshed out, and we were given a pretty solid understanding of who Davis and Sophia are and why. I loved their chemistry and the SPICE. WHEW, Y’ALL. Aubrey Hawke did not come to play - 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Overall, this was a wonderful follow up to Colt, and I’m excited for Emmett’s story!

Davis (Eric) and Sophia (Noelle)

❣️Review does contain slight spoilers:❣️
I was not super excited for this book but I was intrigued...until I got to 15% in and then I wanted to just be done with this book. I did not like Davis at all. He was just a massive man child with a crude mind and an addiction to sex. Yes there was a lot of spice in this book but it was not something that I enjoyed. I couldn't even get super hot and bothered by it. Davis was so protective over Sophia and I loved that. The best part of this book was the last few chapters with his momma. That pulled my heartstrings so fiercely. I could have easily skipped this book and moved on to Emmett, to which I am only intrigued about because it is MM and I did like Emmett when I met him in Colt. I do love the "Fowler" family that has been created here.

👀You would love this book if you like: 👀
Billionaire
Possessive MMC
The one that got away
Touch her and D!e
Age Gap
Rope play

**SPOILERS** Notes:
• The dedication!!!!
• MMM okay so davis like dr^gs
• He has a tongue piercing?!?
• He real name is Eric…why did he change it  he was adopted
• Okay so first time they are together is a ONS
• He has such a sparkly personality (sarcasm)
• I like this chasing game!!
• Uhhhhh him licking her arm bleeding from the wall
• I am not sure if I like davis or not. He is def a play boy.
• Sophia is a worker in another nightclub that is right near Davis. She hates it
• Sophia finds a boyfriend who ends up being a POS
• I love that Davis feels like Rowan and Colt adopted him as an adult.
• Part of me thinks that Davis just wants to feel like he belongs almost. He doesn’t like the quiet.
• I can’t believe Ethan did that to Sophia! GO get him Davis
• DAVIS K!LLED ETHAN. Okay this is too far
• I like that Colt and Davis are giving her the opportunity to choose to leave the club
• I feel like davis is so immature
• Why is Davis scared to say I love you?
• Wow I love the gifts he got her and the 100k wow
• The only good thing that truly I loved in this book was the ending with his mother. All of those chapter from when they went to Texas to the end was chefs kiss

Well God fuckin damn! Did I read this series out of order? Yes yes I did but what can I say I wanted Nash's story! Did that make me have to keep reminding myself that things adjust in Emmett? Yes yes I did

Our girl Sophia is on a birthday trip solo to spend some much needed alone relaxation time away from her job as a bottle girl at a club that lets be honest moonlights as a brother (I promise you Nash makes you hate him a whole lot less in Emmett's story!!!), on that trip she runs into our ever charming, southern chaotic party boy Davis! Well Eric to her, after spending a few wild days together including getting tattoos together she goes home believing she will never see our boy again!

Eric is our chaotic, damaged, southern.....gentleman? Yeah let's call him a gentleman haha, all he can think about when he gets back is Noelle (our girl wasn't hiding her identity she just used her middle name haha) when he goes to confront a business rival (our broody kinda shitty in this story Nash 🥵🥵 I'm sorry I'll always love him!!) he sees his girl and vows to do all he can to get her and keep her! Suuuuuure maybe that includes killing and beating people for her, but it's in the name of love!

I have to say Eric and Sophia really run a close second to my baby boys Emmett and Nash, Eric's back story had me crying most of this book the ones with the most trauma and pain are truly your loudest funniest friends. I will say it every day that I breathe Aubrey's books are truly phenomenal, she writes stories that'll have you laughing, crying, wanting to kill people alongside characters and just truly falling in love with all of them. I can't believe I have to sit here while she writes and wait for her next book! 😭😭

Received as an ARC.

🔥 Short story
🔥 Age gap
🔥 The one that got away
🔥 Billionaire
🔥 Touch her and die

Oh I love him, after Colt I knew Davis was going to be my favourite and he did not disappoint. Although this is a shorter read I felt the story was really well laid out and not too rushed at all which was nice, sometimes this can be the case with short books and you’re left going ‘eh?’ at the end more often than not.

To say the spice starts from the get go in this one would be an understatement. We were well and truly thrown in at the deep end and it was a delicious way to go! Davis is a man obsessed, and what does an obsessed billionaire do to save the woman he can’t stop thinking about? Well just about anything in this case.

If you’re after a short, spicy, vacation fling with a little bit of trauma thrown in for good measure then this is the book for you.

Why you need to read Davis:

• Primal play
• Rope play
• Touch her and die
• The one that got away
• Billionaire
• Vacation fling
• Nightclub owner
• Pierced MMC
• Possessive MMC
• Multiple O's

I loved this story! From the moment they met you just know they belong together. Unfortunately, they lose sight of each other, just to run into each other again at an unexpected moment. From then on, the spice is on fire 🔥. I fell in love with Eric, he is the greatest! This was an amazing read I really loved this book! Couldn’t put it down and devoured it in a day!

What was to be a one night hook up on vacation ended with fate constantly putting two people in the same place at the same time until the vacation ended and they went their separate ways to only discover later that they were in the same city back home living their lives.

I'd give this book 3.5 out of 5 on the 🌶️ scale. If you love the touch her and 💀 trope, this is a read for you! Eric will do anything for Sophia. Overall a great book and deserving of 4 stars!

spicyyyyy with a hint of love

I am going to be honest, I was expecting another bit of conflict towards the end, but there wasn’t anything “exciting” going on. Really thought drugs or alcoholism was going to be thing that caused issues later on, lol I was wrong!

I am happy with how their story turns out. I’m a sucker for love. & if you are a smut-lover, this book is FULL of it.

10/10 recommend this book

I didn't think I could love another character in this series more than Colt until I read Davis, now I'm stuck loving them all with no way back! This book shows how your world can change to something great when you least expect things to change! Loved this book

I have no words for this book. Davis is one of my favorite people ever! He is so loving and caring but he also has his “wilder” side. He has so much passion for the people he loves and will do anything to protect them! This was an amazing book!

Is he dead?” “No,” she gasps. “God, Eric, of course he’s not! I broke up with him. He’s out of my life.”

“If he’s still alive, then you didn’t handle it,”

This is Davis. He is an unhinged cinnamon roll who finds himself falling in love for the first time. Loved it!!

“Catch me if you can, giant.”

I absolutely love age gap & touch her and die tropes... also digging billionaire romance lately so this was an immediate YES for me. It's a quick read, but nothing felt left out and the plot didn't feel rushed. I LOVED Colt, so I figured I would love Davis too, Davis and Sophia have AMAZING chemistry and the spice was spicing. You get tossed into the deep end right from the first pages. Davis took me on a wild ride and I enjoyed every bit of it. Not only is there spice and romance, there is trauma healing, fun, friendship, loyalty, and some heartbreak. 10/10 recommend this. I feel it could even be read as a stand alone.. but you'd get more bang by just reading the series. I cannot wait to see what Emmett's story holds. Ms. Hawke I think I'm your biggest fan. LOVE LOVE LOVE your books. <3

Davis felt different to Colt but like I love them both so much but in different ways. Davis is soft around the edges but still carrying that dangerous, quietly violent loyalty that runs in every Fowler/fowler-like man. 🫠

I loved how messy and ✨Davis✨ his story was, it was dramatic, not for the sake of drama, but real in that ✨ life hit them both in the teeth and they still kept moving ✨ kind of way.

Sophia and Davis together 🥺 it’s way too easy to root for. They have that spark that doesn’t try too hard, 2 people who weren’t supposed to mean anything to each other and somehow became the thing they kept coming back to, even when it wasn’t safe or smart. Their connection sits in your chest and refuses to leave 🫂

The pacing was exactly what the story needed. Nothing rushed, nothing dragged, just that slow tightening feeling where every chapter pulled me in a little closer. And the emotional hits… Yeaaaa they landed HARD.

Aubrey writes people, not characters 🥰 that’s why this series works. Every Fowler book feels like a door being opened into someone’s life, not a plot being pushed at you.

I’m attached. Fully. I can’t pretend otherwise.

Tropes Vibes
🌶️ Spice that actually matches the characters
💙 Golden retriever chaos x guarded heart
🤝 I wasn’t supposed to fall for you energy
🔥 Protective, loyal, will burn it all down love
🏃‍♂️ Run ins, tension, accidental gravity
💔 Trauma x softness woven together
🖤 Morally grey edges
✨ Fate but messier

FINALLY! A safe word! I can’t tell you how many books I’ve read that have kept out this very important detail!!!!!!! Ugh!! A proper Dom knows this and instructs this. Even if it only takes a sentence. My GAWD you cannot miss this! MMC was everything I enjoy reading about. Was he extreme? Yes. Was he vulgar? Yes. Was he captivating? Also yes. And I loved every second of it. My favorite trope as well. FMC was someone I could relate to. She felt authentic in a world of chaos. She didn’t need to be dainty or exaggerated. I will absolutely reread this!

This is book 2 in the Fowler Enterprise series and I have to say just when I thought it couldn’t get any better I was proven wrong! Aubrey Hawke’s story telling does not miss!! This is talent! It’s raw entertaining talent!

3.5⭐️ goodness me this was wild in the best way! 🤭 from a WILLLLLD beach vaca one night stand-ish to running into each other in their own lives on the outside to saving each other to helping Davis through his pain and unresolved grief and ALLL the sexy time in between- Davis & Soph are so cute 🥹

now don’t get it twisted, their spicy time is WOWZA (4🌶️) 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️ but their emotional growth respectively was so sweet to read & be apart of their unfolding story proving that a womanizer does have it in him to be a one woman guy, just gotta find that special magnet of a woman 🫶🏻 so fun i liked this a lot 🥰

This was such a good book! I was easily able to devour this in one sitting.
I was rooting for Davis & Sophia from the start of the book until the end.
If you read Colt, you kind of get a tidbit of what Davis is like so his character development throughout this book was *chefs kiss*. We love an obsessive, overprotective golden retriever.
