This is an interesting story. The main character is three-dimensional, at first glance an unlikely heroine (which makes her very believable), and the fantasy world the author has created draws in the reader with great details, like a finely woven tapestry. It reads like the opening of a larger work, and I hope Mr. Irvin will consider continuing with the story and exploring all the facets of his realistic world.
