Where to start with this? There is no cohesion with this besides being Star Wars. Each story is a different time and does not flow...horrible art in a majority of them. I was hoping for a fun serious read but got mostly goofy stories that are not in line with the films and cannon.

Yaddle Tale: The One Below
This was very intriguing seeing that I never read anything about Yaddle before. Great choice of alien as this species was seen in the cantina from A New Hope. My rating for this issue is a 4.3 out of 5.0.
What they called me
This was a very short story which was meant to be some what of a comedy. I personally did not find it very amusing and the art was about average. My rating for this issue is 2.5 out of 5.0.
A Summer's Dream
Wow! This was very enjoyable and something I never really thought about. It never crossed my mind that amidala could have ever have another love interest. This was very well written and the art was above average. My rating for this issue is 4.8 out of 5.0.
Hoth
This story is literally two pages long and is also meant for comedic purposes. I get to humor and this was a decent little quick hitter. My rating for this issue is 3.3 out of 5.0.
Lando's Commandos: On Eagles' Wings:
I thought this was a decent story but then again any story with Lando in it is going yo be rather interesting. I really did not fully understand this, so the best thing about this story was the art for me. My rating for this issue is 3.0 out of 5.0.
The Hovel on Terk Street:
This was sort a Greedo story that explores some other intriguing ideas. There was an appear by all of our favorite bartender Whur. Who is said to have some troubles of his own.. I really enjoyed this one as it showed my why Greedo was such a formidable bounty hunter. My rating for this issue is 4.2 out of 5.0.
A Hot Time In The Cold Town Tonight:
Very cool and realistic from a Jabba aspect. He is absolutely the God Father of the star wars universe. He is cunning and deceptive that before you blink your eyes you've been had. My rating for this issue is 4.8 out of 5.0.
Fortune, Fate and the natural histoy of the Sarlacc:
This was one weird story and I mean that in every sense of the word. I may have to read this several times to truly understand whats going on. I will say the art is beautiful. My rating for this issue is 3.0 out of 5.0.
Junkheap Hero:
All that needs to be said is R2 and C3-po. This one definitely gives me a good look at the personality of c3-po. The art is kind of wonky, but if does involve darth vader and some imperials. My rating for this issue is 2.8 out of 5.0.
The Hidden:
This was a pretty cool story that features Master Yoda and a imperial probe droid. It seems very realistic and I can see the empire taking the actions they did in this issue. The art was not my favorite but not terrible and seemed to fit the story. My rating for this issue is a 4.5 out of 5.0.
Thank the Maker:
This one delves deep into what might have happened when Vader came in contact with the blasted remain of C3-po on Cloud City. I enjoyed all of the flash backs but thought Vader touching his head to the decapitated head of the droid was a little to endearing. This was a great story with above average art work. My rating for this issue is a 4.8 out of 5.0.
Single Cell:
Not enough to make a good short story. I need more as this story leaves quite a bit to the imagination at the end. The art is pretty solid which helps this issue out. My rating for this issue is 3.4 out of 5.0.
Nerf Herder:
The best thing about this story is the title, which stirred a little excitement in me. It ended up being pretty much a let down. The art style is not my favorite but could be over looked with a more captivating story line. My rating for this issue is 2.2 out of 5.0.
"Jedi Chef" or "Pizza Hutt":
I did enjoy this one, with an Iron Chef theme. I definitely saw the humor in it and I thought the art was very intriguing. My rating for this issue is 4.3 out of 5.0.
Outbid But Never Outgunned:
How about that a Boba Fett story! This is always exciting. Even though this one left me with quite a few question marks at the end. Like " who is she ". My rating for this issue is 4.1 out of 5.0.
Force Fiction:
This was interesting as we revisited what Master Yoda thinks the ramifications of train young Skywalker could be. I as found in interesting for the writer to use Lucas, Jar Jar and Buzz Light Year as background characters. Funny and entertaining. My rating for this issue is 4.3 out of 5.0.
Captain Threepio:
This story again emphasizes the importance of R2 to the Rebellion. It is C3PO who is the main character but R2 sets everything in motion. My rating for this issue is 3.7 out of 5.0.
The One That Got Away:
I really liked this story as it gives a completely different perspective from a more obscure character. The life of one of Jabba's dancers, as there is also a Lando sighting. My rating for this issue is a 4.1 out of 5.0.
The secret Tales of Luke's Hand!:
This one was a little to ridiculous for me. As this story was mainly about Luke's lost hand and how it is still out in the world. Crazy! My rating for this issue is a 1.8 out of 5.0.
Death Star Pirates:
This was another below average story that involved most of the original main cast. I personally did not care for the story which the title sums up by its self. My rating for this issue is 2.5 out of 5.0.

Thoughts: A nice fleshing out of a non-speaking character who just sat there in the Jedi Council.

What?: A young lad falls for Padme Amidala before she becomes Queen.

Yaddle's Tale: The One Below
Yaddle was imprisoned for over 200 years (though how this begins in 300 BBY is beyond my understanding, with Mace and Even Piell there). Her story is told by Piell to argue with the Council about her being rader for Knighthood. It's a beautiful story.
What They Called Me
The poor Ewoks. Oh, humans just want to "civilize" everything. This is insanely AU.
A Summer's Dream
A boy named Ian falls for Padmé. But his dad is the Prime Counselor to King Veruna so he secretly pines for her. When she reciprocates her feelings, Veruna steps down and Ian learns that she is for the people, not her own personal feelings.
Hoth
This is short and cute.
Lando's Commandos: On Eagles' Wings
This is an interesting post-war short where Lando helps against pirates. Not everyone is what they seem.

This is very much drawn like a newspaper comic, which I like. It's odd to see the Trade Federation come up in the same story as Luke.
Vader wants to infiltrate the Rebels by hacking their droids but I feel like that plot falls flat.

Plo Koon is dragged into a wager between Corpo the Hutt and Micah Gilet's friend, Slabba Drewl. Micah had to cook-off against he chef Moreemohtwo. I like that the Huttese is translated at the bottom of panels. I had to laugh at the cheating at the end.

I'm horrified that th Yoda-like creature is eaten by a Globblin...and that name as well. Wow. Fett and Sinlas meet again when going after Pizzttov. Sin is very sadly left alone. I would like more of that story.
Force Fiction
This is a hilarious Infinities story about Yoda and Mace talking about Anakin becoming an apprentice. Yoda defending his wallet from evil price hikes made me laugh out loud--and him using midi-chlorians as a curse!
Buzz Lightyear is in the restaurant with them.
It's funny and yet powerful.

A Rebel Freighter is swarmed and all seems lost until R2 forces 3PO to take over as pilot.

Plo Koon is dragged into a wager between Corpo the Hutt and Micah Gilet's friend, Slabba Drewl. Micah had to cook-off against he chef Moreemohtwo. I like that the Huttese is translated at the bottom of panels. I had to laugh at the cheating at the end.
Outbid but Never Outgunned
I'm horrified that th Yoda-like creature is eaten by a Globblin...and that name as well. Wow. Fett and Sinlas meet again when going after Pizzttov. Sin is very sadly left alone. I would like more of that story.
Force Fiction
This is a hilarious Infinities story about Yoda and Mace talking about Anakin becoming an apprentice. Yoda defending his wallet from evil price hikes made me laugh out loud--and him using midi-chlorians as a curse!
Buzz Lightyear is in the restaurant with them.
It's funny and yet powerful.
Captain Threepio
A Rebel Freighter is swarmed and all seems lost until R2 forces 3PO to take over as pilot.
The One that Got Away
This is a short about the Twi'lek before Oola.
The Secret Tales of Luke's Hand
Four-year-old Anakin Solo wonders about Luke's hand so Han tells him a tale.

Post-ANH with some very odd art.
Bad Business
I really enjoyed seeing Villie in Watto's shop! He feels like he was tricked in taking wonky droids, even though Watto tells him the truth. And then he has to deal with rescuing a princess who tries to eat him! What a hyperspace disaster.

Twenty one tales from across the Star Wars universe.
Among the tales on offer we see Lando leading a team of rogueish commandos, how Yaddle became a Jedi Master, Boba Fett on the hunt and Han, Luke and Leia facing off against pirates.
All of these 'Tales' anthologies contain stories of greatly varying quality as a simple result of their nature but I have to say that this is the one where the stories contained are weighted more towards the bad than the good. There's a few too many unfunny 'comical' stories here and even several of the serious ones are either not as engaging or, at worse, are basically pointless.
That's not to say everything here is bad.
I particularly liked the Dirty Dozen feel of 'Lando's Commandos: On Eagle's Wings' (although I was less a fan of Carlos Meglia's artwork for it) and the Ryder Windham story which sees Vader in 'The Empire Strikes Back' picking up Threepio's decapitated head and having vivid flashbacks to building the droid when he was a child.
Also worthy of a mention are the Boba Fett story where we learn a shocking detail of the hunter's personal life, another deal-gone-awry story for the Devaronian scoundrel Villie and a story which ties-in to the iconic computer game 'Star Wars: Starfighter'.

A downgrade from the first four issues, but still quite entertaining. It seems like the series' priorities have been turned on their head with this batch of tales: whereas Tales #1 featured four reasonably down-to-earth, EU-friendly short stories and one zany comedy piece, it's the exact opposite come Tales #8. Taken for themselves these latter kind of stories are fine, I guess, but they do lose a lot of their novelty when they make up most of the content here :/

This volume gives us a story starring Yaddlle and the Jedi Council , Boba Fett, and some fun shorts with the droids and other stories. I really liked diving into these stories again. The art is fantastic and they focus on a variety of characters.

Before the takeover by Disney, Dark Horse had set up a big and rich Star Wars Universe…but it was also pretty inconsistent. Though I loved Star Wars growing up, I had a hard time getting into a lot of Dark Horse’s series because I mostly cared about the characters and stories I knew from the films. Star Wars Tales is an exception and Star Wars Tales—Volume 2 continues a great run on a fun series.
Anthology books are very lucky in that they have a ton of room for exploration. They can be serious, they can be funny, and they can take cast off lines from the movies and expand them into full length stories. The best issues and sequences of Star Wars Tales are stories where they expand on a minor character or someone in the background (and in that sense, often the funny stories work the best).
Star Wars Tales was also trying to retcon and fix problems that had popped up in the movies. Be it Boba Fett’s death (an explanation how a cool bounty hunter can go out like a chump to the Sarlaac) or examining Darth Vader’s relationship with C-3PO when he encountered him in Bespin (and the strange decision in the movie to let a prisoner Wookie keep the parts). The book serves as way for writers to cleverly work around a story within the movies (like the tale of Luke’s missing hand as another example).
The series also serves as a popular touchstone. One of the more amusing stories is “Force Fiction” which is a take on Pulp Fiction with Mace Windu and Yoda replacing Jules and Vincent (of course Samuel L. Jackson also appeared in Pulp Fiction). It is a fun dip into what was popular at the time and how Star Wars can cross over into popular culture.
Though Star Wars Tales was largely non-canon even in the Dark Horse world, it felt like a lot of the stories could have happen in Star Wars but they just weren’t told. Now with Dark Horse’s stories for the most part written out of existence, these tales are even more of a non-story which is too bad. I really enjoyed the stories in the first volume of Star Wars Tales, but this one was a step back for me. There were too many funny or silly stories this time around and I don't know if it is just my sense of humor or what, but I rarely find them to be all that humorous or enjoyable. I also didn't like quite as many of the serious stories either, but there are a couple of great ones here. One thing that I did think improved was the art, there were a few styles I didn't care for, but in general the art is better than the first volume. I hope to see the stories match that improvement next volume. The stories I enjoyed the most were:
Hoth - Really quick, efficient, great art, and a humorous idea.
The Hovel on Terk Street - A Greedo story that captures the feel of a gritty, bounty hunter story. I liked that it portrayed him as competent. Just because Han Solo outfoxed him doesn't mean he wasn't a halfway decent bounty hunter. Otherwise, he'd be dead long before Han got to him.
The Hidden - I love the playful Yoda that isn't seen much outside of Empire Strikes Back. Thankfully, he is in this story that explains how he could have remained hidden on Dagobah in a humorous way. The painted art style really matches the story and catches the eye too.
Thank The Maker - Hands down the best story of the bunch. Killian Plunkett can flat out draw. His Darth Vader looks amazing. This story explores what Vader did when the Imperials found C3PO on Bespin. Some purists may not like Vader's decision but to me the story was great and made me like and respect the character even more.
Single Cell - A Nym story will always get my attention. I liked him in Starfighter video game for the Playstation 2 and thought visiting his "theme park" in Star Wars Galaxies was one of the neatest things in the game. Nym is a fairly dark character this time around, but I enjoyed how things turned out for him and his crew.

The stories in this graphic novel collection cover many temporal and physical locations in the Star Wars universe. Furthermore, some of the stories are designed to be humorous, sometimes at the level of parody. Different artists have drawn the stories using wildly different styles, some far better and more realistic than others. The renditions are so different that it is a bit unnerving as you move from story to story.
Many of the stories feature minor characters from the main storyline and others introduce new characters. That feature is interesting as they tend to be of different species, which is always a point that I find interesting. Stories about traveling the galaxy should involve aliens that are truly alien rather than slightly modified humans. Bounty hunter Bobba Fett is featured in the best story, in it we learn a little bit about his background and his personality beyond the cold-blooded mercenary.

I read Star Wars Tales, Vol. 2 as my Science Fiction genre read for class. It's a collection of stories by different authors and artists about people within the Star Wars Universe from Mace Windu to Boba Fett and even Lando. The collection is very well done and has many pop culture references, there is one story that has Mace Windu and Yoda in a restaurant, except it's the same scene from Pulp Fiction. There is another interesting one about Boba Fett and a woman bounty hunter he had a kid with.
I would totally recommend this to people who love Star Wars like I do, but also if you're just into scifi in general. It's really awesome and I was laughing and pointing things out within the stories because they actually connected things left unanswered in the universe itself.
11/10 would read again.

The Flash is redone. He has been around for five years when the series starts. He is still learning about what he can do and the best way to use his powers. He is even learning about the Speed Force.
I have always liked the character. It doesn't really seem like that there are a lot of big changes to the series. More of a difference in approach than anything else.
The artwork is good and fairly consistent which is always a plus in a comic book series. The storylines are also fairly interesting.
My problem comes is with the flow of the story though. It seems to jump around. I kept feeling like I had skipped a page or missed something. Then I would come upon the explanation after the event. Just seemed to be jumbled at times.

When I was a kid, I was super into Star Wars graphic novels, and still am today.
I remember picking this graphic novel up, disappointed because I couldn't find the first one in the series. As soon as I opened it up, however, I fell in love with the book. To the point where you could have put me in a little white gown and the book in a tux and I would have married the dang thing.
And then later on when I finally found the first one, I was actually disappointed in it. I enjoyed this book so much better than the first. Which serves to reinforce my idea that the second, is always, ALWAYS, better than the first. *kisses book lovingly*

A series that, like "Infinities", explores "what if?" It allows the authors and artists some license to be creative without having to worry about continuity. There are some truly moving stories in "Tales," such as the one about the stormtrooper who has to take point when they board the Tantive IV, and the Darth Vader vs. Darth Maul duel, and the story that shows Vader with 3PO on Cloud City during "Empire".

The artwork isn’t all that great, but the stories are readable enough, and quite enjoyable, too. The spoofs were rather silly, but funny as well.

Not quite a strong as Volume 1, but still a lot of fun. Favorite stories include "Yaddle's Tale: The One Below," "Thank the Maker," and "Fortune, Fate, and the Natural History of the Sarlacc."
