The moment Macy met Matteo Romanelli she knew he’d change her life. However, after a whirlwind romance, he betrays her in the worst way possible. Macy Moore dies. She is reborn as Gianna, with a desire for vengeance and a plan to bring down the house of Romanelli. With a new face and a new name, the love she once felt for Matteo has turned into hate.
Matteo knew he was going to marry Macy the first time he saw her working in a coffee shop. Beautiful, sweet, and caring, she was oblivious to who he was really is. When he discovers she’s been killed by a rival family, his broken heart vows revenge.
Can Gianna learn to trust Matteo again? What does it mean for her plan of vengeance when she learns they were victims from the same lie? Can hate turn back into love?
I began reading my mom’s Harlequin Presents in the fifth grade, and from the first story I knew I wanted to write romance novels.
I like writing about the very ordinary girl thrust into extraordinary circumstances, so my heroines will probably never be lawyers, doctors or corporate high rollers. I try to write characters who aren't cookie cutters and push myself to write complicated situations that I have no idea how to resolve, forcing me to think outside the box. I love writing characters who are real, complex and full of flaws, heroes and heroines who find redemption through love.
I’ve been pretty fortunate in life to experience some amazing things. I’ve lived in France, traveled throughout Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
I am a mom to an amazing boy. I live in Los Angeles, surrounded by friends and family. I hate washing dishes but I love cooking. I hate washing clothes but I love wearing them.
Writing my bio is difficult because I never know what to say so I hope you like this one. My favorite color is red but I look best in black (it’s slimming). I hate people who don't pick up their dog's crap in public places, people who don’t use turn signals, and I really hate people who are rude and condescending. I especially hate discrimination in all and every form. And although I love holding a book in my hand, I absolutely adore my e-reader, whom I’ve named Ruby. So many books at the touch of a button!
Also, Elizabeth Monvey is my pseudonym for writing steamy MM romance. LOVE is LOVE!

I love to hear from readers so I’ve made it really easy to find me on:
This was a short mafia read but packed with a good plot. It kept me interested and entertained, I finished the book in one sitting.
I liked both main characters, her more than him. For being born and raised in the mafia, he was quite easily tricked by his father.
I loved how much he loved her, even after he thought she was dead. He truly remained faithful to his true love, her 🥺.
For such a short read, their story was somehow complete. I felt the end was a little bit rushed. An extra epilogue down the years would have been just perfect.
Also, there were some moments in the second part of the book when I felt like the plot might have some questionable aspects, like, for example, I find it incredible weird that they did not knew that Matteo had nothing to do with what happened to her, considering how many people they had infiltrated in the house. But I chose to just move on because I really wanted to see how their story would wrap up. 🤍
Overall, I enjoyed this read and will keep a look in case his best friend and bodyguard will have its own story 👀.
What to expect - mafia read, TW for violence - secrets, betrayals, lies, etc. - completely safe, no OP drama, V h, I didn't get manhoho vibes, he became completely obsessed since the first second he laid eyes on her - a few spicy scenes, well balanced across the plot - HEA, epilogue

Now this book reminded me of the old dramas. A girl and a guy fell in love. The guy's parents disapproved. Girl got into a life threatening situation, caused by the evil parents. Faked her death, adopted a new identity. And rain vengeance on them.
Honestly, it sounds like something I would write too.
Anyway, my only issue with it was the writing. It didn't flow as smoothly as I want. The fact that this book was only 160+ pages could also attribute to that. Things happened so fast, and not much time was spent on the character development (if there was even any). You were mostly told what happened rather than being put in their shoes, experiencing their heartache with them. And sin of all sin, there was no tension in any of the scenes in here. And it's a mafia romance. Shame.
Don’t start if you don’t have the time to finish it in one setting 😊. Macy is sweet working in a coffee shop innocent to the criminal world around her, goes to work then home until a sexy guy comes in shaking things up in the best way but he unintentionally put her on the radar of his enemies. Matteo sexy as all get out part of the Romanelli family dangerous, ruthless on a good day, deadly every day, and when he walks into the coffee shop the barista catches his eye knowing she is the one for him and she will be his wife she just didn’t know it …yet. The moment she is on his radar following her but when she is taken and killed by a rival family or so he thinks. However, she comes back as Gianna with revenge on her mind she thinks Matteo betrayed her in the worst way but truths come to light making everything she thought not so truth but who can she believe, will she follow her heart a second time around, will they get the revenge they seek on those who took her, and where are they headed?
A wonderful love at first sight romance. We follow Matteo and Macy. One day he goes into a coffee shop and wants to steal something and then he sees Macy out of the corner of his eye, he doesn't let go and continues to follow her. They slowly grow closer, but what they don't know is that someone is lurking in the shadows and wants them apart. And then it happens and she is moved to another city with a new name. Will they find out who was behind the attack and what is going on with Matteo and what does Pietro have to do with it? Will the truth be a plus or destroy their budding love forever?

Macy and Matteo were perfect for each other and had a dream beginning to their relationship, until outside forces tear them apart, can they come together again?
Doll face had me hooked from the start, the story flowed and I read it in one go, I had to know how everything turned out, it was emotional and had twists and turns and good guys and bad guys. I loved how Macy was reborn into a strong woman out for vengeance with the support of her new found family, and how Matteo never stops loving Macy.
I also really enjoyed the relationship and banter between Matteo and Rocco his bodyguard / friend.

When Matteo goes to the coffee shop to place an order it goes out the window when he spots Macy. One look at her and he is a goner. It is love at first sight for him. As he and Macy get close someone wants to bring them apart and actually does in the end. Macy is given a new name and identity where she vows to get retribution but when she digs deeper into Pietro and Matteo something is off and when the truth comes out will she and Matteo get a second chance for love.

Well written, fast paced dark mafia read. Has good characters, a good storyline/plot that will keep you reading and wanting more. Has action , love, heartache, rebirth, secrets, mystery, steam, drama, lies, revenge. Matteo falls in love with Macy but that ends. Macy is killed off but is given a second chance as a new person named Gianna. Matteo sees her and so starts her plan for revenge. Has action in these pages as she gets help. Wish the story was just a little bit more. Would recommend to others.

Wow what a wild ride, hold on tight! I have read other novels by this author and enjoyed them and this novel did not disappoint. From the first chapter this novel reached out and grabbed ahold of me and held on tight for the entire novel. Buckle up because this novel kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't put it down, because I needed to know what was coming next. I loved the novel. Macy/Gianna was a take no prisoner kind of girl. This story had so many twists and turns it kept me guessing right up until the end. I loved it! I can't wait to see what this author has coming next.

Wow, I loved reading this book it was fantastic, the story was written well and well developed, the characters were really sensational. This story was about Macy, and Matteo, they had a whirlwind of a romance until no more. Matteo has been told who he is to marry his father told him. War is brewing, vengeance is revving, and payback is a real bitch.

Matteo and Macy. She woke beaten and bound being told Matteo didnt want her anymore and the family couldnt take any chances of her blabbing. She was going to die knowing Matteo didnt really love her. When he met her she was the barista where he was getting coffee and it was love at first sight. Loved this story their way to each other has betrayal, family lies and secret, danger, kidnapping, assault, and a little humor. But what a story.

Doll Face is a fantastic, dark, intense story that consumes you from page one and keeps you there until the end. Macy and Matteo are absolutely explosive together and their journey is heartbreakingly beautiful. Love that knows no boundaries nor no end no matter what Matteos father Pietro Romanelli does. Lies, betrayal, secrets and revenge are at the heart of this unforgiving story and I enjoyed every second of it!
I literally inhaled this book from start to finish in one afternoon because I couldn't put it down once I'd started it. Macy (FMC) gets drawn into a relationship with Matteo not knowing anything about who he really is or what family he is part of. Which leads to her being nearly murdered. As much as I liked Macy, this book really started to get more interesting for me. With help she starts on a journey of revenge which I loved. The plot twists were brilliant. A great read.
Secrets and lies kept Matteo and Macy (Gianna) apart, now shes out for revenge and to bring down his family, only when face to face with the past both realise nothing is what is seems. Engaging steamy, angst, drama, revenge, desires, and more.

I really liked the characters. Macy is sweet woman. Matteo falls hard from the beginning but keeps the fact that he is part of the mafia a secret. He does bad things but for her, he is a different man. Too bad others interfere. Nearly dying changes Macy. She is not the same person as the beginning.

Doll Face is a story of love and vengeance. The storyline and characters are engaging and draw you into the book from the early pages.
Matteo and Macy, are star crossed lovers. They have an intense innocent love that his father Pietro turns against them. Enter Gianna, who, with the help of Orianna, Gunner, Mauro, Seth, and Caelian, becomes an avenging angel. How the star crossed lovers make it back to each other and fulfill their fate makes for exhilarating reading.

This was a very interesting novella. Macy loves Mateo very much. However, she believes that he betrayed her. This betrayal causes her to want revenge. So she is trying to find a way to destroy him. Great short story, kept me engaged wondering what was going to happen next.
I found the blurb interesting and the sample chapter terrifying and heartbreaking. I knew I had to read this book.
One I actually read it, I was suprised that half the book was their love story leading up to her death. I really wasn't expecting that. To be honest, that first half much better than the second. After she died and was reborn a lot of the emotion that was present in the first half was missing. And the second half felt very rushed and often lacking in details. This is the reason I didn’t give it five stars.
The absolute best thing about this book are the people. Macey and Matteo especially, but I also loved Matteo's bodyguard, Rocco. He was always amusing and made me laugh. I adored Matteo, so passionate and devoted, very bbf-worthy. Macey was sweet, so funny and exactly like someone you would want to be friends with. What happens to her is terrible and wrong and pretty much broke my heart. I wanted desperately for these two to find their hea together.
The one thing I didn't like was the title. I thought Doll Face was going to be the nickname Matteo used for Macey but it wasn't. I'm not going to say what it really is because that would be a spoiler but when you read it, you'll understand why I dislike it and wish the title had been something with a less negative meaning.
Overall this was a good, steamy story with secrets and suprises throughout. Very enjoyable.
One warning: be very careful of reviews that discuss the plot. Some give away the secrets which will ruin all the fun. My recommendation is to just skip the reviews and read the book. I promise you'll be glad you did.
