Despite It All

Wyla
My trip to Nashville for my sister’s bachelorette trip was going to be my weekend to let go. I was starting my last year of college and I finally felt like I had a plan for my life. I wanted one weekend of freedom. My plan was to drink some whiskey, sing karaoke, and ride that mechanical bull. But after meeting a sexy stranger, the bull took the backseat, and I went on a different kind of ride.
Jett was sweet, funny, and beyond gorgeous, but we agreed one night–nothing more. When the sun came up, no matter what my heart told me, I stood by our agreement and left before he woke. With the click of the hotel room door, I knew I would regret this decision. I just didn’t realize it would come in the form of two pink lines on a stick.

Jett
You would think in five years a one-night stand wouldn’t still affect me, but Wyla practically tattooed her name on my heart that night. I was never going to give up on trying to find her. However, I never anticipated I’d find her with my four-year-old daughter at the same time.
With my baseball career and the distance between us, co-parenting might be her plan, but I let her go once and I don’t intend on making the same mistake twice. Despite it all, I’m not letting her sneak out of my life again.

I can’t stop smiling after finishing this book!
I absolutely loved the first two books following Graham and Owen but let me just say….. Jett has now been placed at the #1 spot.
I loved how detailed and encouraged family was and how important it is to have people around you that have your best interest at heart and that would drop everything for you. It truly does take a village to raise kids.
Wyla is such an independent, confident, and most of all caring person not to mention she’s such an amazing mom to Stevie. I loved everything about their relationship.
Jett is an absolutely amazing dad to Stevie and an even better partner to Wyla. The orange roses and ice cream door dash melted my heart!
I loved the growth from both characters throughout this book and how much both of them had to give up in order to compromise and learn to trust and love each other. I can definitely see why it would be incredibly hard to go from a single mom to now having the dad involved and wanting to help. Sometimes letting go of that control can feel really challenging but this book portrayed it beautifully.
Everyone needs to read this book if the tropes interest you!
I love Mollie and her writing!

Super sweet second chance romance without the OTT unnecessary drama or 3rd act break up! 100% safe and full cute adorable moments. All around feel good and when things get spicy *fans self* its SPICE-Y 😏.

Loved Jett, Wyla is so down to earth and relatable and Stevie Rose!! Total sweetheart!

This is about Wyla and Jett who met five years ago and instantly clicked but because of their agreed upon one night, these two miss out on pursuing any type of relationship.

Normally I don't do long separations but I loved that Jett recognized Wyla as special right from the start. He had every intention of clearing up the one night stand rule first thing in the morning but Wyla had already disappeared and because they didn't share last names or contact info, there was no way for him to reach her. He never forgets about her though and over the years visits Nashville as much as possible, trying to find Wyla. He has literally been planning their reunion and how he is going to win her over for five years!

I loved that both MCs are down to earth people with honest reactions, fears and flaws. I love the supportive family, the slow burn romance - Wyla makes Jett work for it! And I especially loved that Jett never wavered in his determination to not only win over Wyla but also his daughter. This was such a cute freakin read! It left me with all the best feels and I know I'll be re-reading this one again soon!

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I completely devoured this book👏🏽!! This was the perfect accidental pregnancy/secret baby book!🧡

Wow!!! You can really see the growth in Mollie’s writing from her first book in the series, Feel It All, to now! It was impossible not to fall in love with Wyla, Jett & little Stevie🥰

One of my favourite parts of the secret baby trope is when the dad does his best to make up for lost time with their child.
Let me tell you, Jett did EVERYTHING he could to make up for lost time with Stevie as well as Wyla who he thought about every day for the past 5 years🫠!!! He would travel to Nashville to see if he would run into her again. Talk about a man that is OBSESSED!! Jett was the epitome of obsessed! He would do anything for his girls. Oh, and he’s a baseball player⚾️

Wyla has been my favourite Bennett sister since book 1 so I was super excited to finally have her book! I wasn’t disappointed in the slightest as it was so worth the wait! I loved how supportive Wyla’s family and friends were towards her and Stevie, as well as the sister pile between her, Waverley & Winry🥺. It was also so nice to see what past characters are up to since this book was set 5 years into the future from book 2.

If I could pocket up the mouth on Jett Ellison then I would!!! That man sure knew how to dirty talk😮‍💨🔥
The spice definitely hit in this one and has been my favourite by far! Jett and Wyla were so well matched.

This book switched between past and present at times which I thought was a great touch! It really showed you how Jett and Wyla were in the moment when they first met.

I feel like Mollie has done a good job at setting the next two books in the series! I have a good guess on who I think they will be about and I am really excited to find out more about these characters👀

If you love a small town romance series with a found family and storylines that feel like a warm hug then I highly recommend this series🏡🌷

Audiobook. Thomas Oakley + Amy Hall absolutely crushed it as Jett + Wyla. I fell in love with their love story with my eyes and it hit just as hard with my ears. Secret/surprise baby isn’t usually my jam, but this one is done RIGHT. (No dumbass FMC in sight 🙌🏻) This book will forever hold a special place in my heart. If you’ve been thinking about giving Mollie/DIA a chance, now’s the time!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

ARC REVIEW: Full disclosure - this was my first book by Mollie (I know, I know jumping in mid-series isn’t how I usually roll but here we are) and I’m officially part of her fan club!! This woman got me to love a SECRET BABY trope people 🗣️ as they say, there are exceptions to every rule and this is one of mine.

I’m honestly kind of speechless right now. I loved every minute of this book. Mollie handled this trope so well and I applaud her for giving us chapter 4. It was everything I could’ve hoped for and she delivered.

Jett + Wyla + Stevie have burrowed into my heart. I loved them all individually, as different combos of duos, but especially all together as the sweetest family. Thank you for shouting out “mommy minutes”. We all need them.

Despite It All comes out 8.9.2024. Read it please. You won’t regret it!

4.5/5 ⭐️ | Dual POV: Jett & Wyla

Despite It All is a sweet, swoony and spicy read! I absolutely loved it!!
Jett and Wyla have a one-night stand in Nashville five years ago, where Wy ends up pregnant. She only knew Jett by his first name and had no way of contacting him. Fast forward to five years later and Jett unknowingly shows up to his sister’s friends daughter birthday party and sees Wyla again along with his daughter he never knew he had.

Jett is a total cinnamon roll. He was so loving, caring and thoughtful. When Jett found Wyla again, he knew she was the one for him and did everything in to prove that to her! He was so determined to never let her go again! Jett and Wyla were perfect and had incredible chemistry! Jett also wanted to be the best dad he could possibly be, and I loved the relationship he built with little Stevie! I loved how protective he was over his girls! I adored Wyla! She was a strong and independent woman and was such a great mom to Stevie!

Despite It All was such a sweet and beautiful love story. They were the cutest family ever and deserved their adorable HEA.

Accidental pregnancy is one of my least favorite tropes. If it’s written well, it’s not so bad. Luckily I didn’t have an issue with the surprise pregnancy in this one. The trope that bothered me was “insta love.” I find it highly unlikely to fall madly in love with a one night stand and pine for them for years. I just couldn’t vibe with Jett’s love for Wyla NOT growing organically as they got to know each other during learning to co-parent. He was set to prove his love from the get go. I would have liked to see a more natural progression of them growing and falling together. My biggest ick, however, was the fact that she called him “daddy” and he called her “baby girl.” You share a four year old daughter and these are the pet names you are going to use for each other 🥴🤮

I am going to start by saying the secret baby/child trope is something I usually avoid. But I love Mollie's writing and I wanted to give this book a fair shot. Let me tell you this book was EVERYTHING. The way Mollie wrote the connection between Wyla and Jett was beautiful. The anguish and heartbreak felt by both characters after their search for each other without success ripped my heart out. Then in true Mollie fashion she made the hero an absolute stud and mended my tattered hear.

Jett and Wyla met one night in Nashville and the connection was instant. They agreed to a one-night stand and no last names. Wyla snuck out in the morning and regretted that decision almost immediately. Wyla finds out she's pregnant and she looks for Jett but never finds him.

Jett has similar regrets in the morning. He regrets never getting the last name of the girl who he is convinced is the one. Even after many failed attempts to find her, he keeps going back to Nashville to look for her. But on a quick vacation to see his sister, he stumbles into a child's birthday party... He quickly finds out the party is for his daughter.

This book is packed with emotion, and you won't want to put it down until you finish it. Mollie wrote beautiful characters that were relatable and so loveable. The way Jett was determined to never let Wyla go again had my heart swooning. I love an MMC that knows what he wants and never wavers.

Thank you, Mollie Goins for the opportunity to read and review this advanced copy.

This book was everything from emotional to spicy to wholesome but that’s Mollie Goins for you and I absolutely adore her and her writing style. She knows how to draw you in from page one and let me tell you I was hooked. Seeing Wyla as a mom was amazing and my heart broke for her so many times throughout the book. Mollie really captured the topic of mom guilt and it really opened my eyes about the struggles of motherhood and it makes me appreciate my mom more than I already do. Get ready for some tier ranking for the Aster Creek men. Graham is great and so caring and Daddy Owen was hot in all the ways you could possibly think, but Daddy Jett takes the podium. Like where can I get a hot baseball player like him?Stevie was the cutest kid I’ve read so far and the relationship Wyla had with her daughter was amazing and it was captured in the realest way possible. Mollie’s books always transport me to Aster Creek, I sometimes forget I’m reading. Wyla always handled parenting Stevie in the best way and it’s not something I’ve read before and I loved that it was included. No kid is perfect and Mollie wrote it beautifully. The growth the Bennett sisters had in this book with the choices Wyla had to make her for her family and the conversations Winry, Waverly and Wyla had really made me feel for all of them. They are one of my favorite sisters to read about in books. The growth that Jett and Wyla had as co parents and exploring a realtionship was everything and more and the sexual tension was through the roof like chef’s kiss and the way their chemistry never disappeared was amazing. The way the cover and title always play into the book always hit and this was one of my favorites. The relationship Jett and Stevie had was just everything and it gave girl dad energy that I’m always a sucker for.
Thank you so much Mollie for gifting this arc in exchange for an honest review!

I am honored to read Mollie’s books early as a proofreader, and while I don’t usually rate books, this one deserves a 10 star if it was an option! Mollie, you did it again—you talented, beautiful, SMART WOMAN, YOU!!! Congratulations on book THREE!

Your love for your children shone through every piece of this book and I think that’s what makes it my favorite so far.

Jett is delicious, but I think I might love Wyla more. What a badass lady she is, but more importantly, what a great mom! Watching the baby Bennett blossom and find her happily ever after really got me… I’m going to call my mom and tell her I love her!

Everyone go read this book 🥹😭

First, I have to say I LOVE everything Mollie writes!! Every single book she puts out I'm going to read because the way she writes pulls you in and tugs at your heartstrings without you even realizing it until you're already in love with the characters!! If you haven't read this series. I'll say it again. READ IT!!! Also I need to make a sister pile with my besties. Iykyk.

Wyla and Jett met one night in Nashville, bonded over karaoke and giving each other orgasms. Until Wyla left the next morning thinking they were going to have one night together and move on....wrong!

Two pink lines was all it took to turn Wylas world upside down. She tried to find Jett but after 5 long years...he finally shows up in Aster Creek but in the most unexpected way.

Thank you mollie for writing a book that I can personally relate to, after having my son and dealing with motherhood, postpartum, and anxiety. It's nice to see a character dealing with something similar, also made me tear up. Made me giggle, made my kindle all steamy with Jett words.

I was so ready to return to Aster Creek for this third book in the series, and I just MELTED for this book. Jett immediately became my favorite Aster Creek MMC. We love to see a man obsessed. After one night with Wyla in Nashville, he flew back over and over just for the chance to see her again. I swooned, I melted, I fell in love!!

Overall I enjoyed this book enough to give it 3.75 but rounded it up to 4 stars. I’ve read all of Mollies previous books in this series and this one is my least favorite unfortunately. I still think Mollies storytelling is solid but more of my personal preferences that I like to read played into the rating and comparing her past stories to this one lead me to my thoughts.

Review:
I don’t enjoy age gaps at all. Even tho Jett and Wyla read similarly like maturity levels and such; I disliked the 7 year age gap between them. Jett also came across to fictional. Like he was to down bad for him being a Pro athlete that only talked to a woman for a few hours before sleeping with her. Not saying it can’t happen but out of all of Millie’s other MMCs Jett is the most fictional to me. He was literally too much of a perfect book boyfriend. Wyla was okay. I didn’t find her funny or witty like her other sisters and that was really disappointing to me. I felt like I couldn’t connect with her like her sisters because her whole identity was a mom and I’m not one so it was hard for me to enjoy her. Did I sympathize with her struggles? Yes. But can I truly relate to them? No. Stevie read a lot older than 4. I have 4 year old nephews and they don’t sit through anything. Yet, Stevie is following a full baseball game and knows what’s going on. Maybe she’s just advanced for her age 🤷🏽‍♀️ lol. I think Wyla should have made the choice to be a full blown WAG and moved to support her man. But she didn’t and he stayed for her. Shocker. Honestly, the realistic piece I felt with her other stories just wasn’t really here for this one. Like her other stories this one is still pretty instalust/instalove. There was one part where it was mentioned that they talked for hours together to learn more about each other but that was it. But they some how love each other. The substance of a relationship was not very believable this time around. When I finished I literally summarized it back to myself as he’s obsessed with this woman and lucked out by having a daughter with her so she’s his now forever.

Like mentioned before this one just wasn’t my favorite out of the three. Which is normal for most series following a family. Most readers won’t connect and love them all. Still a decent and fast read and I’m sure many will eat up Jett and his simp ways.

Fav quote: “I don't know how else to say this, or if there’s some magic words to get you to understand, but despite the distance. Despite my schedule. Despite the years apart. Despite it all, Wyla, I want to be with you.”

"Despite it all" by Mollie Goins is a heartwarming and captivating tale that will draw readers in from the very first page. The way Jett shows up for Wyla and Stevie throughout the story is truly inspiring, as his commitment to being a supportive and loving partner and father shines brightly throughout the book. His character's dynamic nature and rough-edged charm make him a truly memorable protagonist.

The author, Mollie Goins, skillfully weaves together a story of family, love, and resilience that will tug at your heartstrings and keep you turning the pages. The inclusion of Jett's daughter in his adventures adds an extra layer of depth to the narrative and showcases the beautiful bond between father and child. (GAH I have become such a sucker for the secret baby trope 🥹)

I was thoroughly impressed by the authenticity and emotionality of the characters in this book, as well as the well-crafted storyline that kept me engaged until the very end. I cannot wait to delve into the rest of the Aster Creek series (I can’t promise that I’ll read them in order though 😂) and look forward to future works by this talented author.

I wholeheartedly recommend "Despite it all" to anyone looking for a touching and uplifting read that celebrates love, family, and overcoming obstacles. This book is a true gem that deserves to be shared with friends and other book readers. 🧡🧡🧡

Mollie’s best work so far. I have been looking forward to Wyla’s book even since the beginning of the series and especially at the end of Bring It All since that book gave you a look into what her book might be like. But what I expected and what I got was so amazing to be honest. I was expecting to get a sweet secret baby romance but what I got was also sweet secret baby romance but with a ton of heart, a swoon worthy baseball hero daddy and a heroine that was simply just the best mom ever. And the best of all of it was definitely little Stevie girl and all her fun one liners and mischievous mischief she brought to the table.

Could Wyla and Jett please adopt me into their family because I’m begging for them to be my parents but at the same time I also wanna be the fourth Bennett sister cause having Winry, Waverly and Wyla as you sisters? I’m sold!!!! But after reading Despite It All I’m once and for all obsessed with these ladies and their gentlemen. The thing I love most about this series is that it’s all about family, friends and love and that even if you feel like you have nothing, you always have something, because you have your family. By now I feel like a honorable part of the fam and I desperately wanna move to Aster Creek ASAP.

Just one of the many things that I adored about this book was how willing both Wyla and Jett was to give up everything to make the other one happy and that in the end they ended up right where they were suppose to be. I think that Wyla and Jett at first was right person wrong time but then five years later were right person right time. Timing is an essential matter and it was just meant to be for them. The cowboy turned into baseball pillows shirt was definitely one of my small favorite parts of the book and the fact that Stevie and I are obsessed with the same Disney movie made my heart so happy.

I think it was interesting to read a lot about Wyla’s internal thoughts about what would have happened if she didn’t leave that morning after, but the thing that really struck with me was that Jett was like the past doesn’t matter what matters is that we are here together now. So it really didn’t matter thinking about all the what ifs, because you can’t change the past, only look forward to the future. I just love this book so much because you are given a lot of great perspectives throughout the book that just touches your heart and soul so deeply.

I’m a very big Wyla, Jett and Stevie cheerleader and I’m an even bigger Mollie cheerleader. I’m just so proud of Mollie for writing this book so beautifully as she did and all the hard work definitely paid off because look how an incredible and beautiful story came out of it all. I JUST LOVE DESPITE IT ALL SMMMMM!!!!

Thank you my dear friend Mollie for this ARC!

I adoreddddd this book! The characters were all amazing! The main characters Wyla and Jett were the best. I loved that they both knew that one night together wouldn’t be enough- although I hate that it took so long for them to find each other, the payoff was absolutely worth it! Jett finding out about his daughter made my heart so stinking happy! He was willing to take on the role with no questions about it and he was the best dad to sweet Stevie 💖🥹

This had so many emotions packed into it that I didn’t want to put it down at all! Mollie’s writing will always be my favorite and I cannot wait to read more from her! ☺️

4.5 SWEET AND SPICY STARS !!!

I don’t think I have ever read a man that is as big of a cinnamon roll as Jett . He is so most loving, caring, understanding guy around . All while Wyla is the most sunshine of a woman who has done everything in her power to get to this exact spot with Jett . Stevie is the sweetest little girl and she is so clearly the star of this show in the best way possible !

This is book three in the Aster Creek series and it can be read as a complete standalone .

This book was given to me for honest review by the author .

3.75⭐️ Heartwarming, cute and relatable! I really liked Jett and Wyla‘s story. It wasn’t necessarily a 5 star read but I really loved how their story played out and how relatable all the characters were. Only thing I wasn’t necessarily a fan of was the 5 year separation, because in reality, a lot can happen during such a long period of time. But I decided to overlook that 🤏 detail and enjoy the rest of the story.

- Love at first sight/meet cute
- ONS - 5 year separation
- Surprise pregnancy
- Baseball player x Veterinary Nurse
- Close-knit family vibes

If you need a warm hug… read this book- or really any of Mollies books!

Jett Wyla & Stevie.. thank you for the sweetest accidental pregnancy second chance story I’ve read in probably ever. No angst, low drama, just a man who is down bad for his one night stand from 5 years ago & the little girl he didn’t know he had.

Mollie did a fantastic job with the accidental pregnancy/surprise baby trope. This book sucked me in and I was hoooked by the end of chapter 2. The spice was so good- no ick factor.

She also highlighted challenges in motherhood beautifully, I felt so seen and related to Wyla in this way. Mollie has an incredible ability to highlight real life issues without weighing down the book with heaviness. Like I said- this book felt like a warm hug after a hard day.

This book pulled me out of a book slump which is hard to do. I just loved Jett, he was a cinnamon roll not afraid to show his true feelings, the communication in this book was so good as it always is in Mollies books. Wyla was so strong and an selfless mom who needed a little convincing that she was good enough and it was beautiful character growth 🧡

Also! Side characters in this book 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽 so good. I love Mr and Mrs Bennett and it was so good to see Wav Winry & their families 😍

Aster Creek feels like home and this small town series is such a good one 😍

I wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good either. I like the idea itself but writing is killing all the vibes. First 30% are too rushed and chaotic. Books jumps from one thing to another and then it is just becomes repetitive till almost the end of it.
