This short book is filled with biblical and practical principles to help adults launch their children into adulthood. Bettis helpfully explains how parenting roles change—from cop to coach to consultant—and explains how a godly parent will strive to disciple their children as they’re on the verge of transitioning into adulthood. As a dad of a teenager a tween, and three younger children, I’m incredibly grateful for this practical wisdom while I’ve got time to implement change in my own parenting.

This is a short and helpful book about transitions that parents will make as their children grow up. The teen years should be times of helping our children work on adult skills, since when they hit 18-20 we don't need to be responsible for them anymore. They need to learn to be capable adults. We will always be their parents, and we can always help in ways that are actually helpful, but our children will be apart from us at some point.

I skimmed this in half an hour and just kept thinking, "That's it?" It mostly felt like surface-level common sense. Not at all the rich and helpful resource I was expecting. There just wasn't much there and what there was seemed very obvious and straightforward.
