Deadly Hunter

Rate this book
Deadly Hunter by Ann Evans is an exciting children's mystery story. It tells how friends Laura, Bethan and Gary are really pleased when they get the chance to visit Cottesbrook Rare Breeds Park. But soon they find that the park is full of lies and secrets – and anyone who seems too curious could find themselves in real danger...And there's another danger to face, too. Because Laura and Bethan know they've seen a wolf prowling through the woods. A wolf everyone tells them doesn't exist. A deadly white wolf that seems to be stalking its prey...Deadly Hunter was first published by Scholastic Children's Books in their Hippo Mystery series back in 1998. Ann is delighted to bring it back for a new generation of readers to enjoy.

One of my favorite stories as a child. I've read it time and time again and even now I sill enjoy it, (even though I know the plot that well now that I can read the story without having the book there)lol

I remember reading this A LOT as a child. I don’t know what I’d think about it now (2018) but I remember loving the mystery and also the wolf. Might be different now, but 2002-2004 sometime I loved it. Perfect book for middle graders!

This 1998 published book is part of the Hippo Mystery series. I vaguely remember these books from years ago and as I do love old books I snapped this up when I found it at a charity shop last year.

Friends Laura, Bethan and Gary are doing a school project at an animal park but it's not long before they discover something sinister going on there.

With a mystery to keep the reader intrigued this was one I really liked and I will be looking for more in this series.
