This book is a must for those committed to taking responsibility for their health and happiness! Learn how Valerie's self-healing techniques can pierce through surface symptoms and expose the cause. She presents a comprehensive approach to resolving all types of conditions, to support healing the body, renewing the mind, and living in the spirit.
Content: okay, some universal truths combined with some arbitrary approaches to digging deep Writing: decent, but repetitive Note: there are definite strong religious undertones and mentions of God, but in the end it is not completely a religious book. It is more about the technique and love than the big man upstairs (thoguh for me adding this aspect is a turnoff)
In general I felt that this was an interesting read, as I had never heard of this approach to identify dyslexic emotions and target deep rooted beliefs to improve your life quality. Like many self help books it recognizes there are long held, often stemming from childhood, responses that persist into adulthood. Do you recognize yourself going into these patterns, do you see yourself feeling these ways, can you pinpoint how you feel - is there a disconnect? The book begins by probing for this info - but I felt the repetitive nature of it and some pf the personal examples took me out of the thinking process.
The second portion fo the book broke down more of the Muscle relaxation therapy technique - which I felt wasn't as clear or simple or formatted as well as it could be. This is an old book and it could just be an artifact of printing books and formatting that was common to the time. But reading this section I felt I needed to have someone help me do most of the activities, which made me sad cause then it no longer is as much of a self help book but a seek help book. It still acts as an intro to MRT and Kalos, but I didnt feel I could sufficiently do it by myself - keep in mind the book does not promise this, and if you studied it long enough you probably could do it all on your own no prob.
The end of the book has excellent universal truths and words of wisdom. I really enjoy this type of advice - the things that ring true no matter how often they are heard. I would go back and read certain sections or aspects of this to get a different perspective or approach to thinking through internal issues, which means its decent.
A practical book to teach you how to rid yourself of emotional pain from the past, and live a rich full life. Uses a lot of muscle response testing. Attended several of her seminars and she probably helped me move beyond a lot of garbage and really released me to grow.
