After a missed opportunity at love, can two old flames find their way back to each other?
Willis Jenkins refuses to accept that he’s lonely. Although his wife left him years ago, he’s always been close with his daughter Hannah, and working at his restaurant keeps him plenty busy. He doesn’t need anything else… or so he thinks.
But when Hannah returns home for a visit and finds out that her father’s first love is now living in Whale Harbor, the small town right beside Blueberry Bay, she decides to play matchmaker. She knows her father is lonelier than he lets on, and she wants to see him happy. And besides, Marsha Dunlap is one of the sweetest women Hannah has ever met.
But can old flames truly be rekindled? Or is it too late for a second chance between the onetime sweethearts?
Meanwhile, Paige Garner has graduated and is facing big decisions about her future. She’s been offered a scholarship for an out-of-state college, but although Josie is pushing her to accept it, a nagging feeling is holding Paige back from saying yes.
And newlyweds Alissa and Dane have just bought the house of their dreams—but a series of disasters threaten to turn it into a nightmare instead.
Nestled against the beautiful New England town of Whale Harbor, Blueberry Bay is a cozy coastal town with sandy beaches and a cast of characters who’ll make you laugh, smile, and be swept away. If you enjoy clean romance and stories that celebrate family and friendship, this series is for you!
2.8⭐️ for me but it was partly my fault for the rating given I wanted to read this book as a standalone and not go through the entire series. You see a lot of characters from the previous books in the series pop up again and again and stories from their ends continue. While I noticed this trend with one of her other series where I made the same mistake of reading a book from that series as a standalone and feeling overwhelmed by the other stories and characters that I hadn't read about, I felt that in this book, the MCs barely made much of an appearance throughout and it was mostly the rest.
I really thought it was going to be a good, later-in-life second chance romance but it missed the mark. Firstly the girls were more matured than the MCs and the both the MCs were always suddenly switching sides and not meeting in the middle. My intention of reading books as a standalone especially based on their book synopsis alone is to spend more time with the "main" characters in the book and I didn't get the opportunity to do that.
A Moonbeam in the Bay focuses on rekindling an "old" love and on following one's heart. I guess because I'm older now, I find love stories between more mature people wonderful. Fiona Baker manages to tells stories centered on people of all ages and on the importance of family. Hannah, Willis's daughter, tries to reunite him with his first love Marsha so he won't be so lonely. Paige, who has reconnected with her older sister Josie, wants to go to a baking school. Newlyweds Alyssa and Dane face problems with their new home together. There is something interesting about relationships no matter the age. This was a rewarding read.
It's really true that relationships can be rebuilt and it doesn't mean that it will be the same as how it was but it's a totally newer way for the present and the future. It's very encouraging. Too often people still separate after trying to give their relationship a second chance because they're expecting it to be how it was, when it won't be. The past belongs to the past, the chance is for the Now and Forever.
Nestled against the beautiful Rhode Island coast, Blueberry Bay is a cozy town with sandy beaches and delightful shops and eateries. The wonderful characters and their stories celebrate family and friendship. These are clean romances and I enthusiastically recommend the series. Now I have to wait almost 2 months for the 6th and last book in the series!
This was an uplifting and inspiring story. If you want a feel good story this is a fantastic series. The characters are realistic, strong family values. A fantastic must read. Enjoy
Another nice installment in the chasing Tides series.
We get to read more about the previous characters and are introduced to other characters in depth. This one is about Willis and his old girlfriend. A very nice story.
A sweet memory comes to light and hope is born. A daughter and niece cook up a plan to make up food r past failure. The old celebration is brought back to life and the plan takes place. Enjoy
Enjoyable enough but editing..ugh! Example: "We've all tasted your bakery, and we know how amazing it is." Perhaps baking? Who knows this goes on into other books as well. Again probably a voice to text mishap but editing (other than spellcheck) would catch it.
