Death at the Dripping Tap

Rate this book
A shocking event.
And an uncertain future.
Veronica Vale prides herself on being logical and adaptable. But when sometime friend and often thorn in her side, Inspector Jacob Templeton, is grievously injured, she discovers unresolved feelings that refuse to leave her alone. Pesky feelings.

Dealing with her tussled emotions isn’t aided by a murder outside of the Dripping Tap pub. And when her landlord, Gary Pickleton, is accused of the heinous crime and hauled in by the police, Veronica must act to ensure justice remains on track.

But with an ailing, grumpy inspector to manage, a tricky murder to solve, and her family misbehaving, she has her hands full.

This is book 4 in the Veronica Vale Investigates series. If you love witty dialogue, 1920s British historical glamour, intrigue, and a fast-paced mystery, you’ll adore Kitty Kildare’s unputdownable whodunnits.

this was a messier m*rder than those in the previous books and I'll be honest, veronica was really beginning to grate on me in this one - she frequently lorded her status as a working woman as her get of jail free card for her stupid choices and downplayed the rightful concerns of others. it was very tiring to read when it was clear those points being made were from a place of rightful concern and that she was playing fast and loose with her's and ruby's lives from the various spaces they got themselves into. jacob's accident was sad to read but i was glad when him and veronica came to a making up of sorts, though i wish he would instill some common sense in her.

Excellent story

Ms Kildare has written another excellent Veronica Vale cozy mystery.

The whole “gang” is involved in this one, and while there are totally unexpected
twists and turns - and an ending that begs to be re-read to make certain it is
understood, Veronica, Ruby et al manage to solve a very complicated murder.

I strongly recommend this volume, and the whole series to date.
