After the devastating ending of book 1 I didn't really know what to expect from this storyline, but wow. I loved the new world they find themselves in and the twists of fate, it's a fascinating concept and I enjoyed how we saw different sides to the academy characters.
This has a slow burn enemy to lover romance, with an unexpected arranged marriage, that was filled with surprises, tension and conflicted emotions.
I loved Orpheus - the grumpy Fae prince, and his feelings towards Anna and the banter they had.
I liked that Raven and Lorcan were along for the ride too, and we get more insights into Lorcan's past.
Really enjoyed the fast paced plot, the character growth, and the building romance and touches of spice.
There are still dire stakes from mythological threats and enemies, Anna duties as the Aurora, and hard decisions to face.
Another heartbreaking cliffhanger though, my heart can't take much more - I need book 3!

"It's not just a wish. It's a necessity, and I'd trade my very soul if it meant increasing my chances at succeeding"

"Sometimes, that's just the way love works - swiftly, mercilessly, completely"

"I love the chaos you brought into my house. I love taking care of you"

"There's no limit to how much I want to know you and be there for you"

"I don't think you're in a position to make demands, princess. I've made sure of it"

"To the ends of the universe, that's how much I love you, Anyi"

What an imaginative book! Anna is determined to go back in time to rescue Jericho before he is killed by Serra and Baldur but they interfere in the process and it results in her, Lorcan, and Raven being sent back over one hundred and fifty years into the past!
Now they’re stuck and Raven can’t shift out of her bird form and as they try and find the portal to go back they’re caught! Anna is forced into a fake marriage to keep everyone together and still tries to find a way back but things don’t seem to work out for them. However, over time her dreams of her dead husband start to get confused with her fake husband and then he does come to her aid and her friends aid as well. When a promised return portal courtesy of the order of the Aurora turns out to be false orchestrated by none other than Serra herself and her shadows plus another who betrays the group, Anna is content to remain there in the past until Orpheus discovers when a new portal will appear and gets the group there to go through it with one exception.

This is a great series which just gets better and better! I was content thinking the next book would pick up still one hundred fifty years in the past but now Anna will once again contend with a broken heart and a determination to destroy Baldur and
Serra once and for all! After that- whose to say? She has two options for sure now or maybe three if she just wants to not go back in time at all!

I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend you get both books in this series! After all you’ve got to read the first book to understand what happened before reading this book!

It’s an intriguing world of fantasy that Lyra has created and I believe you’re going to love it as much as I do!

This is the second installment in the series and picks up with Anna as the Aurora and some other familiar faces back with their attempts to stop Baldur from spreading his evilness any way they can, including traveling back in time.

Things do not go according to plan for Anna, and she ends up in a time much later than she intended, without her mate Jericho. In order to blend in and bide her time while she researches how to fix her mistake, she strikes a deal with a prince, Orpheus, to become his wife in appearances only. Orpheus has been avoiding marriage pushed on him by his family, and so this marriage of convenience is perfect for him to keep them off his back.

I was excited to get back into Anna's quest of discovery and adventures. She is consistent in this continuation with her stubbornness and putting on her blinders whenever she does not want to accept what is in front of her. There were times I wanted to throttle her for her naivety. I liked the character development of Orpheus in how he slowly started to change his perception and was honest with his feelings. I wish Raven had played a little bit more of a role, but I understand she is typically a solitary character. I really enjoyed the plot and look forward to meeting new characters and adventures in the next book in the series as this one was left on a cliffhanger... again!

Thank you to Lyra Forger for allowing me to continue being an ARC reader for this series. Wow! Book #2 of the Chronicles Series!
Where do I begin?! 5 🌟
Anna, she has the worst luck, yet the best luck at the same time. I don't do spoilers, so I won't go into detail. But after suffering a devastating loss at the end of book #1, A Dusk Of Stars, leaving you with a heartbreaking cliffhanger that I couldn't stop thinking about, months later... Book #2 throws you right back into the heartache with Anna being unable to let go, move on, and heal. Time travel lands Anna, Lorcan and Raven I'm the 19th century... but how will she fix things from their, destroy the evil threatening their modern world, free her friend from her curse, return themselves to current time, and bring back Jericho? Orpheus is the attractive, feared prince... who had a soft spot for her. He knows Anna is in trouble and tricks her into marrying him, for he is being pressured to marry. How will this fix her predicament, though, and how will that bring back her, "true mate"? Read this series.... that's all I have to say, I highly recommend it if you love magic, romance, banter, slow burn, spicy ending, and found family. I'm obsessed with this series and can't wait for book #3 , A Dawn Of Blood!

Just couldn’t put it down. After reading Dusk of Stars, I rolled right into Midnight Dreams. I went through an array of emotions. From smiling, to sad, upset ( by how stupid she was being) to happy again, then OMG. Seriously, I gotta tell you it was very exhausting. This one is less about the Academy and more about how she is trying to bring Jericho back. And I honestly can’t tell you more because then I’d be giving it away. Special thanks to the author for letting me read her ARC in exchange for my honest review. I’m a lover so go read it today.

Found myself slogging a bit more reading this on. I liked the time travel concept and finding another Mate, would love to see more of that however still the bits other than her and Orpheus were just a little slow for me. Not sure I’m going to continue the series.

This is not a standalone!
Anna: 31-Year-Old Librarian returning to school as a shifter...without shifter powers.
Subject to a prophecy from book 1.

Baldur: Evil Master Vampire occupying the academy, or her nemesis.

Jericho: Dead fated mate
Orpheus: new potential mate (I bet there will be a debate over best book boyfriend here).

Accidentally along for the ride with Anyi, who goes back in time:
Raven: raven shifter, fellow student, “Familiar”
Lorcan: professor “daddy”

First Book: {A Dusk of Stars by Lyra Forger}

My review:
While I only mildly liked the first book and considered it my least favorite of Lyra Forger’s, the second book is much more engaging.

You don’t see the death of a main character in most romances (the last one I remember is Kim Harrison’s series). Now Anna has lost her love, and she wants to find him so badly she is willing to travel back in time to save him. Unfortunately, with her inexperience, she accidentally portals to the early years of the academy along with Raven, who is stuck in raven-form, and Lorca. Finding period clothing is easy, but portalling back to her time is not. The portal is in the middle of the cafeteria in a crowded room, and her attempts to infiltrate lands her in the hot seat next to the prince of that time.

I loved the initial meeting between Anna and the grumpy MMC in the cafeteria. The whole scene was the real start of my interest. She acts weird. I can see why he pays attention to her after years of females flocking after him ad nauseam. His mother has been a harpy about getting a child, although his older sister is actually the heir who should have children. What better rebellion but to affiance to a lower-class servant with no social skills and no interest in him?

Honestly, it feels like a hash between Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast and Snow White. I think fairy tale remake-lovers will love this.

Anna/Anyi: how do I say this? Manipulative. Spiteful. Distrustful. I don’t like her that much, but I do like how much she cares for others.

Orpheus: I looked up his name. There once was a poet whose music lit the sky with wonder. He is a real catch, willing to give up what he loves to let her fly free. His love of experimental science on Dream magic just made me want to swoon.

The plot dominates, so this technically is a fantasy with a strong touch of romance, I think. There are a couple of scenes I really liked. The romance develops to a climax, but this story is far from finished.

Tropes:
[] Girl Saves Guy
[] Time Travel romance: or can you reverse time to save a marriage? (Hint: not in real life)
[] Fake? or Forced Marriage
[] Slow burn to spicy
[] Plot twist at the end
[] Science with sorcery! Woot!

A Midnight of Dreams by Lyra Forger is the 2nd book in The Originals of Grimm Academy series.

The first book ended with a cliffhanger and we jump right back in from there. And I said in my previous review that I hoped the second book would relieve me from the heartwrenching feeling of the cliffhanger ending... but it didn't.

I don't want to spoil anything, which is kind of difficult seeing the blurb of the book is quite... empty.

The book does continue in the fantasy academy setting with a curvy FMC, Anna, and a grumpy fae prince, Orpheus.

World-building is difficult to describe, again, without spoiling anything. Let me just say that for the time period it is taking place in, it did disappoint a bit. There is nice world-building for the environments, school and housing, but other parts did fall short.

Now for the character building, I wish I could say I liked Anna, but I really didn't. She keeps making the same mistakes and then she recognizes that she 'fd' up, just to do it all again two paragraphs later. It seems like she is in this neverending self destructive phase, and at the same time she takes other people with her. Her friends aren't all that forthcoming. She drags them into some pretty devastating things, and they seems like okay with it at first, to then sort of shut her out shortly after. But like, noone tells her the obvious, that she is continuously making the same mistakes.

Apart from making the same mistakes over and over again, Anna does not really seem to get further ahead of were she was. It feels like she quite literally starts all over again.

The book is said to be spicy, and it might be because I am accustomed to some high spice books, but I found this second part to be less spicy, if at all, than the first book and it is extremely slow burn.

There are certain time jumps in the book which feel too abrupt and off pace. Apart from that, certain repetitive wording choices were troublesome for me.

Overall, I did sort of like the book, I doubted several times if I should continue reading but the story did keep me going. And where a Dusk of Stars ended in a cliffhanger, a Midnight of Dreams does so too.

Thanks to the author Lyra Forger for giving me the opportunity to read this as an ARC reader. My opinions are my own and my review is voluntarily.

This is the second book in the series, and a couple of years have passed since the events at the end of book one.

Anna and her friends are in hiding and she’s trying to cope with her grief and guilt at the events that have led them to this point. She’s determined to put things right, even though she hasn’t fully mastered her powers.

However, after a plan she and her friends implements mis-fires, it separates Anna, Raven and their old professor, Lorcan, from the rest of her group. They find themselves in an entirely new situation with a very handsome fae prince, his infuriating family, and the politics of their court.

We’re then taken on a journey of exploration through this new setting with it’s different rules and new faces, not knowing who the three of them can trust. Anna’s guilt increases with the situation she and her friends are in, and her frustration at the political games she’s having to play in order to try and find their way home.

I loved meeting the new players in this story; some of whom are intriguing and some who are downright infuriating! It’s great to see how Anna handles all the new things that are thrown at her and how she starts to come into her own, whilst still being there to support her friends who are struggling with being in this new place.

There are some moments of levity, especially Anna’s frustrations with a certain prince, and there are more mysteries to solve, the foremost of which is how to get Raven, Lorcan and herself back home.

The author’s character-building is superb. Lyra Forger has a gift for imbuing the people and places she writes about with vivid imagery, so that even the least of them has colour and substance.

I know that sometimes storylines in second books can feel not quite as dynamic, but this book is Definitely. Not. That. It’s full of vibrant interactions and emotions and just about the pouty-ist feline ever. And whilst I thought there may be a twist at the end, I definitely didn’t see THAT coming!

If you’ve already read book one you’re going to love this! If you’re new to the series, don’t worry, you’ll still love this book, and you can always enjoy reading A Dusk of Stars afterwards which will give you more context to the events in A Midnight of Dreams.

After the heartbreaking end of A Dusk Of Stars I didn't know what to expect. A Midnight Of Dreams started off achingly sad but there was a bit of hope too.

The plot was so unexpected (it kind of reminds of the tv series Outlander), there was a time jump and at the start, it felt like Anna and the gang were in the middle of the apocalypse and they sort of were. Then all sorts of craziness like, time travel (which makes this a historical read), an arranged marriage (of sorts), a grumpy fae prince, forced proximity, complicated in-laws, and more. I was riveted. Anna's problems just keep adding up, and Anna's stubborn nature can be so frustrating at times because it seems she hasn't completely learned her lesson from the last time. I did enjoy the lighter moments, Anna's interactions with the royals were good, mostly because she didn't let them get away with too much. But it was especially her time with Orpheus, the grumpy fae prince. The back and forth between the pair was great. Once I got to know Orpheus had my heart. I liked him so much.

Nevertheless, she's done it again. Lyra has completely savage my heart with one mind-blowing plot twist. My poor heart can't take it and I don't know what to do with myself. I have no idea how to feel, on one side I'm happy but on the flip side of that it's incredibly sad. I want it all.

Gods, this series really should come with a warning "Will cause uncontrollable tears" but the tears are so worth it. A Midnight Of Dreams was so epically good. Once again Lyra left us on a devastating cliffhanger, I need the next book to repair my poor broken heart. Thank goodness the wait won't be too long.

BLUF: Read the book. It is time travel, dark Academia, fairy tale creatures, and angsty romance in one. Read. The. Book.

For my schpicy followers *the burn is slow.* And when it finally hits you're going to be panting and begging for more. Fair warning.

Genre: Romantasy

Setting: Third person with a tiny glimpse into a secondary POV. Most of the book is set in the 18th century. The world is magical and humans are not on top of this food chain.

Meet the FMC: Anna is a badass with access to multiple streams of magic. She's stubborn, rash, and fiercely devoted. She's a 21st century woman stuck in the past.

Meet the MMC: Orpheus is sexy, genius, and stoic. What more do you need?!

They've both got trauma and they clash. HARD.

Short overview, no spoilers: We enter the story as Anna is processing the biggest set back of her life. In her desperation, she turns to time travel. Things go left and she is stuck in the 18th century. She meets Orpheus and ignores his pull, choosing to focus on her mission. Insert drama, comedy, suspense, and TENSION. Will she ever have the love she craves? Will she save the world? Will Syl ever stop being a jerk??

I could not put this book down. The writing was phenomenal. Even when I thought I found a plot hole, it's revealed later that there are clear reasons for not having seen the full picture sooner. There's a cliffy but it's not as brutal as many other reads. The romance progressed at a logical pace, the world was intriguing, and the conflict was serious but not gory. Truly fantastic!

Wow I really don’t know what to say as I don’t want to give any spoilers but I didn’t think my heart could break any more than it did at the end of book 1.
Anna find’s herself stuck in the past with Raven and Lorcan trying to bring Bane back after the devastation at the end of book 1.
We meet a few new people mainly Prince Orpheus and his family, Anna or Anyi as she calls herself when first meeting the prince is cornered into marrying the Prince with only a days notice. The chemistry between Anna and Orpheus is electrifying, my heart was breaking for the prince for most of the book.
The Prince was funny charismatic and sarcastic but most of all hugely misunderstood, I cried on more than one occasion which for me is very rare but I just wanted to wrap this man up and hug him for eternity.
Anna was so scared and totally in denial of what and who Orpheus was to her as she felt so guilty about having these feelings for someone other than Jericho.
We have so many ups downs and twists that are so twisty I was dizzy.
We did have some progress with Anna/Anyi and Orpheus but I’m not giving spoilers you will just have to read it for yourself but be warned in true Lyra Forger fashion we have a HUGE ENORMOUS GIGANTIC IMPACTFUL CLIFFHANGER. Can this girl not catch a break???
I really don’t think I can wait for the finale I’m on tenterhooks.
So in short this book was amazing just one click it and get reading.I

Absolutely need to read book one, as this book picks up two years after the events of A Dusk of Stars.

Anna, the FMC, is still trying to get Jericho back, and in one attempt, ends up in the past. Like, the 100+ years back. She's strong-willed and determined to get back to her time, but also to revive Jericho, her mate. Anna has shown a lot of personal growth since the first book, and it's great.

Orpheus, the MMC, is a grumpy fae prince at Grimm Academy, he's also a scientist and experiments with all sorts of stuff. He's brilliant, clever, charming, but can be annoying, especially to Anna.

The banter between Anna and Orpheus is fantastic, and had me cracking up along the way, but there were moments of tears. I loved seeing them slowly come to terms with their feelings towards each other and finally openly admit it. Lorcan and Raven were also with Anna on the journey. It was so good to see them again, I missed Raven.

Characters are well-developed, and diverse. They all have their own backgrounds, and reasons why they do what they do. Their relationships grow, admit hard truths, and learn. Story was amazing, and it felt so natural.

We ended on another devastating cliffhanger, but maybe not as bad as the first, since I didn't throw my Kindle. I'm anxious to read book three!

Thank you, Lyra, for the beta and ARC!

What can I say... if I could give this more than 5 stars I would!!
I didn't think book two, a Midnight of Dreams, could have as much of an effect on me as book one (a Dusk of Stars) in the chronicles series... I can't believe I'm saying this but I think book two might actually be better!! 🙀🙀

I don't want to give too much away but in book two we immediately join Anna and the gang a short time after the cliffhanger that book one left us on... they are coming to terms with what happened and Anna is determined that her story will not pan out this way so they have hatched a master plan to travel back in time and undo some mistakes in an attempt to change the fate of those closest to them....

Anna, Lorcan and Raven end up stranded 150yrs in the past where the inevitable drama ensues. They meet Orpheus and his family as they scramble to find a way home all whilst trying to blend in with the time period of which they know nothing about...

A Midnight of Dreams has everything A Dusk of Stars had plus a little bit more!!

- a Strong kick ass FMC (who I personally think has grown into her character a bit more since book one)
- A Dark academia setting (which I bloody love)
- Forced Proximity but with more spice this time 🔥❤️‍🔥🔥
And yet another cliffhanger setting you up for book 3!!

Ps bring tissues!! All of the tissues 🤧

Nooo…my heart can’t take much more of this! At the start of this novel, we learn two years have now passed since Baldur was released and things are getting dire for Anna, her friends and the world. She is no closer to unlocking her other powers and is drowning in grief, so when an old document about a time portal comes into their possession, Anna decides to try it to travel back to a point before she messed up everything. Unfortunately she, Raven and Lothar are instead pulled 150 years into the past. As they try to figure out what went wrong and how to return, Anna finds herself stuck in a marriage of convenience with the fae prince, Orpheus Grimm.
I loved our grumpy prince, but Anna’s continued hostile behaviour towards him even though he keeps showing up for her was a little tiresome. She was so slow to read the writing on the wall, I just wanted to reach in and shake her! This is definitely a slow burn again!
A Midnight of Dreams is a wonderful, unpredictable and unputdownable story, but that ending had me in crisis again! I hope the next book releases soon!

Nope nope nope, Lyra we about to not be best friends again!!! You can not do this to me again! That cliffhanger!!!! URGH!!! I'm thinking ain't no way. There no way she ended the book again with a cliffhanger like that!! Uh huh. I ain't talking to her again until book 3 comes out.

But for real, I loved this book!! She did it again with this one. It's so much more than the first one. There is a twist in there that I didn't expect, but after learning about it. Now I have questions and I feel like they will be answered in book 3. Well I hope so!!

Again our girl here needs to learn to think before she talks! I love Anna, but girl!!! You make me want to rip my hair out!! She needs to mature like for real. Not even just a second, she needs to stop and fully evaluate her attitude for everything. Still love the girl, but man!

Either way with how Anna acts, still loved the book. Read this series guys. She has others books that go into the backstory of the academy and more. So I would read all the books. But now I'm going to be sitting here mad as no other at Lyra until book 3 comes out. Lol!

Wonderful second book in this standalone series set in the world of the Originals of Grimm Academy. Anna has definitely grown as a person compared to the first book. She has gone through a lot and is still reeling from the events where we left the story the last time.
Anna has learned to accept the help of others and to extend a helping hand to others in return. After reading A Dusk of Stars, one of my criticisms was that it appeared as if Anna didn't care for her friends. This time around, I'm happy to say that she's learned how to be a friend and how to extend grace to others and herself.

The author has done a wonderful job in creating an original fated mates arc that spans through lifetimes. The romance is a slowburn, which is my favourite.
The cliffhanger made me tear up. I had a really good time reading this, and I'm really looking forward to the final book!

Holy Word!!!
Such a fantastic book!

So the Aurora has to go through a lot of “strife” in each lifetime… but let’s be real here - Anna really makes that strife for herself. I get that she is in mourning and has 40 billion things she’s trying to accomplish at the same time. However, she just can’t seem to allow herself an open mind.
Using what she already knew about being the Aurora and all that entails, you would think she would have been able to put the pieces together and at least approach Orpheus in a different way. Instead of just trying to avoid and ignore, she could have asked him for help a long time before he actually found out her identity. That’s my opinion anyway.

I’m glad she had Lorcan and Raven. Poor Raven. I hope this time they get it right!

I can’t wait for the next one. I need it ASAP!!!

I loved the time travel and thought it was a fun twist to the overall story.

Not as much 🌶️ but plenty of 🦋. Orpheus and Anna had a lot of relationship building and character development.

Ok, I loved Orpheus. He just had the best reactions and facial expressions. I enjoyed his little comments and how he was just so supportive. The slow burn was killing me because I just wanted Anna to see him so much quicker.

Anna seemed to have grown a lot from the previous book (you do need to read the first before you read this one). She had a lot to work through and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

There were a couple spots where it felt like the story jumped and I would’ve loved more time between the couple. I still enjoyed it a lot and would recommend to those that love fantasy academia and time travel.

Following on from Dusk of stars we jump straight in without spoilers if I can.
I was expecting it to go another way and it was rather disappointing even though the writing is easy to read, the world building is okay I was also expecting the FMC to of developed more but she just seems to be the same, she just seems to be self destructive and she just brings everyone with her and they just seem okay with it. The magic system was also lacking and yet another love interest?!! Which i do like but HUH?? I know people have the right to move on but
we didn't have much of them in book 1. This is an slow burn and certain jumps in time feel off paced.
There is another Cliffhanger which I was expecting there is potential and I really hope the author explores more because I love her world she has created but focusing on the FMC, Side Characters and the magic system would improved the quality of the story.

This second book in the series comes after the A Dusk of Stars cliffhanger and it lands them all 150 years in the past and things go downhill for the group from there ! Anna, Lorcan and a Raven locked Raven need help from Orpheus if they are ever going to make it back to save Jericho, but the hits just keep coming and the expected Portal is a lie . This book has as many twists and turns as the double helix and ends on another cliffhanger, so beware !!! Lyra Forger pulls you in, spins you around like a washing machine , then spits you out to hang on the line ( to dry ), until the next book !! But it is Soooo worth it ! Must be read in order and beware the spice level, because the heat is on ! 5✨’s !! For a book well done !

Received as an ARC, I am leaving my honest review. Anna thought she would go back in time to prevent her mistakes. Problem is, she took herself and two close friends too far back, and has lost her powers! A chance royal meeting turns into a very intense, interesting problem that only gets more mysterious as the days pass. Desperate to find answers, the suspense grows, the anticipation becomes gripping and leaves the reader trying to figure out what comes next. Romance is in the air, simmering, slowly building but guilt leaves Anna questioning everything. Well written with a beautiful storyline that will have your attention from the first page til the nail biting end, leaving the door open for more!

I wasn’t sure what to expect after the ending of book 1, and honestly I could not have even imagined this if I tried.

We are still in the magical world, but we end up in a different time. You follow Anna literally back in time, but when she gets there - nothing turns out how she imagines it will. Characters development of Anna from book 1 is pretty good, she’s shown that’s she’s grown a bit and she’s really trying to make better choices. When she doesn’t, she owns it. I admire that.

I’m really interested in how Book 3 will go, as book 2 kind of felt like a detour - although it is all definitely connected throughout. I don’t want to spoil too much of the story!

I’ll be waiting for book 3!

3.5 starts. I loved to see Anna grow into herself & her power more during this book. Seeing the series progress has been great & this book delivered on a lot of the things I was hoping to see from the last book. I loved every second with Anna & Orpheus tho. The time travel aspect was so interesting & the romance progressed very naturally. The time jumps felt a little abrupt & the plot pacing was a little off for me. Overall a fun read & I will definitely be continuing the series. The cliffhanger has me excited for the next book!

Thank you so much Lyra for allowing me to be an ARC reader for this series!

Even Better than the First Part!

I thought A Dusk of Stars was great, but this second in the series is even better. Once again, we’re back with Anna. However, instead of going back in time where she wanted to so she can stop Baldur and keep the love of her life alive, she finds herself way back in time to when Grimm Academy first started. This time, she has Raven and Lorcan with her. This story is well written and the action flows. As in the first book of the series, there is friendship and trust and loyalty. This is also very emotional with everything Anna goes through. I can’t wait for the next installment.

Oh my goodness. My heart can’t take much more. First Jericho and now Orpheus. I’m literally sobbing.

“To the ends of the universe, that’s how much I love you, Anyi,” he whispers. “Like I found you in your original timeline, like I found you in this one, I will always find you.” EXCUSE ME? How perfect is this man? I’m starting to believe him and Jericho have the same soul.

This book had me sucked in. Mainly because I was dying to know if my man did really die. I hated putting it down to do anything. Now I’m patiently…impatiently waiting for book 3. I’m usually so good at predicting books, but this one none of my predictions came.

Ahhh! What an amazing book!!!

Slow burn romance, with twists and turns left and right! Definition of making the best out of the situation and persevering where you’re at!

Anna is determined to get back to Jericho, but things don’t quite goes as planned and she ends up way further back in time then she intended. Poor Lorcan and Raven end up stuck back in time with her, but it seems to have been for the best where both have growths for themselves.

I don’t know what I was expecting with the end of the first book ending with me on the edge of my seat but this one did as well! It was a heartbreaking spot for it to end but I cannot what for the third installment in this series.

Really 3.5 stars for me - I liked how the story developed but there were a lot of grammatical mistakes that were distracting and the pacing was off for me.
Anna is frustratingly stagnant as a character - I just don’t understand how she can continuously make the same mistakes over and over and I just want to shake her.
Orpheus was a dream and I honestly wish that we would have gotten more of them actually together and growing rather than the tiniest glimpse of it and then to have it ripped away in .5 seconds.
Overall I like the ideas in this story and the time travel piece that was added to the mix. I am excited to see how all of this wraps up in the last book.
