Although Lion-O has the body of an adult, his accelerated growth means that his physical strength has outpaced his emotions, and he still has a lot of growing up to do before he can achieve the kind of maturity that every leader needs. Luckily, a seasoned warrior is ready to help him master his temper with some painful combat lessons!

In the aftermath of the Third-Earth-shaking events in the first story arc, Cheetara takes center stage for “Training Day,” a special standalone issue written and drawn by guest author STEPHEN MOONEY (The The Great Race, Half Past Danger), who also contributes a cover for the issue together with series stalwarts DAVID NAKAYAMA, LUCIO PARRILLO, DECLAN SHALVEY, JAE LEE & JUNE CHUNG, and IVAN TAO!

Best issue of thunder cats so far both in writing and artwork. This one is exclusively an exchange between Lion-o and Cheetara as she delivers some tough love and valuable lessons through sparring.

Finally getting to see Lion-O begin to work through his insecurities and mature and listen to the council of one who cares for him and wants him to the leader everyone knows he can be. A good character development issue.

Lessons learned

This is that pivotal moment where a young protagonist steps into a maturity boosting mentorship, which indefinitely shapes the future of one's spirit and solid foundation. Stay tuned

Vol 1 - Issue 5: Cheetara needed to beat some sense into Lion-O ... literally. Also the change in art style wasn't bad 🐆

Off topic to Thundercats, but the Johnny Quest preview just unlocked a hidden memory 😭 I had forgotten about that show!

A much better issue than those prior. Enjoyed the significant focus on Cheetara as well as the art.
