He gave me the best night of my life and never looked back. I'm not sure I'll survive being his rival . . . or his roommate.

Jason Elliott is annoyingly handsome, uptight, and frustrating. And incredible in bed. How do I know? We spent a single scorching night together, before promising to forget it ever happened.

Now he's opposing counsel on the biggest deal of my career, which means the past doesn't matter.

Only winning does.

At least until a booking error lands us in the same rental house. Different bedrooms…but sharing a wall. It means I hear every sigh, every groan coming from his side. They say keep your enemies close, but this one is too close for comfort.

He’s sexy, funny, a little bit dark...and a lot more complicated than I ever imagined. The closer we get, the more I want him.

Jason seems to think getting me back in bed means winning this deal. But falling for Mr. One Night? I’m not getting burned again.

My love for the enemies-to-lover trope made me addicted to this book. It was hard for me to put it down. Cynthia is just a strong FMC and I like how Jason complements her. The banter and tension between the two was perfect. The spice was good (including some BDSM) but not too over the top. I am definitely looking forward to reading more by Sophia Travers in the future. If you like a fast-paced story with a bit of spice, this is your book!!

I received this book as an eARC and this review is my own.

I can’t thank the author enough for giving me a chance to read this as an arc, for a honest review. All I can say is wow! As soon as I started I couldn’t stop. I thought this was going to be another office romance novel and I am always here for a good cheesy romance novel. This was different it was very well written and very captivating. If that isn’t convincing enough for you to read this let me tell you, it was Slap Ya Mama seasoning spicy. Sophia wrote these characters in such a way that I felt like I was watching a movie. The part I hated the most was the end, only because I didn’t want it to end. I will be adding this book to my home library and part of Sophia's future work! Please do yourself a favor and read this book.

DNF'd @ 55%. i am pretty good at finishing books even when i do not like them, but this book was ROUGH!!

i also think this book needed some editing.
-FMC was on the phone with her friend and the author mentioned her from was "nodding" how would the FMC know this if it was a phone call.
- MMC received an email from his boss. the MMC mentioned his boss worked every sunday like clockwork, but then the MMC mentioned it was saturday. i was confused as to what day it was. if it was saturday why add the sunday anecdote?
- MMC talks about a couch sex scene, but they had sex against a wall.

maybe i am in a smut rut, but i fell like this book could have been A LOT better if the story did not drag and the main characters did not talk about their "rough life" every chapter.

Oh my..the banter between Jason Elliot and Cynthia was exhilarating and soooo hot!..Both of them are lawyers, very competitive and damn good at their jobs.

A one night rendezvous left Jason wanting more however he has his own secrets not to pursue it further and boy was I surprised on the reason why!

This is a great read from the start to the finish and I enjoyed every second of it!

Spice : 4/5 🌶️
Overall rating : 4/5 ⭐️

*ARC REVIEW*
I got this book as an ARC and the following are my honest thoughts and opinions about the book.

OMG! I absolutely ate this book up! I couldn’t put it down! Everything about this book is perfect! I loved the relationship between Jason and Cynthia. This is not your typical office romance. Or enemies to lovers it is so much more! And it’s wonderful! The plot twists and thickens just when you think you figured it out!

Oh how excited I was getting back into the world of Sophia Travers. I cannot with her books, they are JUST. TOO. GOOD. And My Office Rival, is under that category in BOLD.

Finally getting into Cynthia’s story after hearing a small fraction of it in Partner Material, I knew it was going to be good, of course. But holy damn. Also, I loved the little appearances from Margo and Andrew, and also getting introduced to Miles and Jonah. God, I cannot wait to read Miles’ story. I just need to say, that the forced proximity in this was ABSOLUTELY FUCKKINGGG FIRREEEEE. LIKE OH MY GOD. I could not. I died. I died, dead. Not only that, but how everything came about in those first few chapters, especially how they ended up working a case together. THE COINCIDENCE WAS HILARIOUS. The roommate situation added on to the case, made it EVEN BETTER. And those mind games from one another to mess with the other’s head. PURE GOALS.

But as we all know and love, they became close with one another while being roommates, and neither of them are who they seem to be, revealing pasts and untold truths to lead to something deeper and more exciting. THE FEELS WERE UNREALLL. Jason is a purebred heartthrob and I DESPERATELY WANT SOMEONE LIKE HIM IN MY LIFE. I just want to wrap my arms around him and squeeze, and never let go. My heart purely exploded at his love for her. It enraged me with how his past haunted him, and he could still be so loving, and how Cynthia brought that out in him was just… Not to mention, Cynthia was just as haunted by her past and her dreams, just for different reasons. She needed to lean in, AND BOY DID SHE LEAN IN. Those bedroom scenes WERE JUST.. LORD ALMIGHTY I NEED A COLD SHOWER. GOD FUCKIN DAMN. What a pure babe she is and I looovvveeeee her!
AAAHHHHH I JUST LOVED IT SOOO MUCCCCHHHHH.

I got this book as an ARC. The following are my honest opinions on the book.

This book was a fast read for me, I enjoyed it. I ate it up and finished it in a day! Could not put it down once I started it. I still think about it.

This book is a rival to lovers, a strong female lead, and forced proximity. It captivated me right from the start. The spice starts almost instantly. This book was such a good read. Full of tension and hot, oh so very hot spice. Not a super slow burn, but enough the tension got intense.

Two lawyers on opposing teams, one house, and lots of tension.

Cynthia and Jason's story was so good. This is not your average romance novel. I enjoyed seeing the tables switched. It can be considered weak if a man wants to be a sub. This book shows that the Female does not always have to be a sub and that the Male can enjoy what women enjoy as well. Most men are not vocal about what they want or need, when it comes to the bedroom. They can be scared that the Female will reject them. I loved that this book captures that.

I will recommend this book to anyone to read!
Absolutely, fell in love with this book and can not wait to purchase it and add it to my bookshelf. 5/5 starts for me, and I will re-read it in the future.

1st reading: Well written prose with some typos (not as bad as in Partner Material, but enough to mention). The plot is predictable, but there are several subplots to keep it fresh. The two main characters are well-developed and show growth and change over the course of the novel.
Jason and Cynthia are senior associates at rival law firms, both of whom feel like they don't fit in and want something different for their careers. After a steamy one-night stand, the two find themselves off site as opposing counsel for a corporate sale and are forced to share a rental house. Both have also been given ultimatums by their managers to come out on top for this case. But their forced proximity underscores their crazy attraction to each other, and things go from there.
This is another case where the conflict between the two is caused mostly by poor communication. However, these characters have rich back stories which make the conflict organic and uncontrived. There is fear and pride on both sides, and in the case of Jason, he has a history of pushing people away before they can leave him, because in his experience, everyone leaves him. For these reasons I can forgive the overused plot device, which otherwise would piss me off.
I look forward to eventually seeing more from this author.

My Office Rival can only be described as a page turner because from the moment you pick it up you won’t be able to put it down. Picture this two opposing lawyers, forced proximity and Bdsm sounds like the perfect combination to me. This book wastes no time getting into the spicy scenes raising the stakes for both characters along the way as we get to see them over come their individual fears. I loved the fact that we get to hear the characters inner thoughts vs what they actually said to each other it really helped to connect with Jason and Cynthia’s story. The female character is such a strong lead and I love that she never backs down and stands her ground. The hottest thing about this book was the fact that both characters were into switching between a dominating and submissive relationship when needed and SPOILER ALERT (That wall bedroom scene had me gasping for air). The only thing I felt like I could have done with a bit more is Jason’s backstory to really understand his fears discussed through the story however this book is still a great read and I definitely recommend it.

He’s mr one night only and a ruthless lawyer.
I went into this book thinking it was going to be a nice sweet romance and man I’m glad that I was wrong. Cynthia and Jason are both corporate lawyers alway on opposing sides. One night after drinks things heat up and they spend a night together. He only ever does one night never a second. And she’s too busy with her job and goals and life to have a relationship. Until they have to leave New York to work on a case and end up spending way more time together than either of them planned. Everything about this book surprised me! I loved the banter between them when they are alone and the hidden innuendos when they are at work. The spice and tension is there but it’s not crazy graphic so it’s a nice read for someone who maybe just getting into the spicy side of romance. Most definitely a HEA.

I absolutely loved this book!!!! The push and pull of the main characters was perfectly written!!! I found myself holding my breath, laughing, and overall in ahh!! The smart little comments from both character hinting at how bad they had it for each other had me screaming for them for not just throwing caution the wind and going for it!!!

I was a little curious as to how they managed to get around town and be able to do things out in the open without being seen by the clients, though. The deal was to make sure no one knew they were staying at the same house together, but they are out at the carnival or the farmers market like no one else can see them?

The ending kinda had a pretty woman vibe to it, and I loved it!! He finally got the girl after realizing what a butt he had been! I'm definitely getting a physical copy to add to my shelf!!

MAYBE A FEW SPOILERS:
Holy shit... I don't think I've loved a book like this in a while. Seriously I think I love it. And honestly The Closer can absolutely close the deal with ME anytime😏 I've read many books that either have some BDSM elements or have that as a common theme but it's always the MMC that is dominant. I've never read a book where someone is a switch and that's the shit I live for. Maybe it's because I just resonate with that on a more personal level but I absolutely loved it. Lowkey think I'm obsessed with Jason. Seriously this book was so amazing I loved every second of it. The pure obsession these characters had for eachother and every part of the story was amazing. I truly think this is one of the best books I've read in a while. The writing about Jason's struggles and anxiety about facing his past and his demons was truly written so well. Absolutely LOVED

This book was SO GOOD. It was written in such a captivating way that kept me coming back for more. I liked that the FMC Cynthia was a strong, career driven woman but still valued love and relationships. I feel like the strong FMC can be written in such a cliche way but Sophia portrays her beautifully. She also did such a wonderful job with the MMC Jason. I feel like I definitely need a Jason in my life lol. Sophia wrote the story in such a way that had me rooting for these two throughout the book. And she did not skimp out on the spice!! Overall a great, relatable book about romance, relationships, miscommunication and vulnerability.

A hot and steamy book that will keep you wanting more! Cynthia and Jason heated up the pages! A little BDSM and in true enemies to lovers, great banter.

Cynthia and Jason, two corporate lawyers, who are on opposing sides in the courtroom. They had a one night stand one night after a few drinks.

They both go to to work a case and end up getting booked into the same cabin. Being forced to spend time together really heats things up.

But will bring together interfere with the case they are both working on?.

This is my first read by this author, and I must say that I quite enjoyed the storyline and the characters. It is a steamy rivals to lovers romance between opposing lawyers, Cynthia and Jason. These two intense souls and the unique plot make for an intriguing read. What starts out as a one night stand turns into something more. It is a love story with drama and steam, sexual tension and chemistry, and humor and charm, plus appealing secondary characters to keep the reader interested. An engaging page turner with all the feels.

Let me begin with how amazing this author is. The heart and talent I could tell she put into this book was incredible! The book was a very fast read for me because it had me hooked. I love how the book is enemies to lovers with spice. It does have some BDSM in it and I LOVE that. It was sexy but easy to read at the same time. The plot overall is amazing and keeps you wanting to read and not put it down. If you like books that have enemies to lovers then this is perfect. Certain parts to see the warm relationship between the two will melt your heart.

The thing I love most about this book is that it takes the enemies to lovers trope and twists it.

Jason and Cynthia are lawyers on opposing sides. One dinner party and a few drinks later, and all of those lines are blurred. I liked the banter between them while working between the two and the progression of their relations throughout.

This has spice, but it's not what I would consider to be smut. Recommended for anyone who is starting to get into spicey reading. Some BDSM and touches of darker themes.

There is an HEA.

5 stars - Muy caliente

Warning! Do not start this book if you're only planning to read for a couple of minutes in order to test the water. It won't happen. My Office Rival starts with a spicy bang, like omg I'm not sleeping tonight and oh why is my sex life so tame 🤣 You think you can go through the first chapters and pick it up later, but it's futile. This book hooks you fast and until the end. The characters have nuances, the writing is very good, and I'm puzzled on why this author does not have a bigger following. Definitely an author to watch for.

I’ve always been a sucker for enemies to lovers and this book took the cake for me! The tension with forced proximity and the twist of workplace romance oh my.! Also as a switch it was so nice to see the representation, especially for the men. It’s so easily considered weak and humiliating for a man to be sub or switch when that can’t be further from the truth. The communication and constant verification of consent was spot on! A beautiful story!

ARC review!

This was such a wonderful read. Would you call this a roommates to lovers? Office rivals to lovers? This was a wild ride from the start! Two lawyers on opposite teams, living together....The sexual tension was insane and the things they heard, knew, did on the opposite sides of their room walls was intense! If you want a read that will keep you wanting more grab Cynthia and Jason's story! My office rival was one of a kind!

Workplace enemies to lovers need I say more? Jason Elliot! This man may seem all tough and like an asshole (which he is) but for Cynthia, he is such a sweetheart. The way he protects her and takes care of her *swoons*. The spice in this book was *chefs kiss*! It starts right off the bat and just gets better and better as the book goes on. Couldn’t put this book down loved every single minute of it!

This book is not your normal romance book! It was fast pace right out of the gate…no slow burn here!!!

I’m always obsessed with the dual POV’s and the tension between Cynthia & Jason is riveting!! Enemies to lovers is easily one of my favorite tropes and Sophia wrote this one well.

This book is 5 stars easily but the spice level is INSANE 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️.

I’ll definitely be purchasing this so I can read this one again. I cannot wait to see what else Sophia has up her selves.

Ok hear me out! I give this 4 Stars and 3 🌶🌶🌶

But one of the best representations of the kink community!! This isn't something I see much in books portrayed accurately and damn if that isn't the hottest thing.

This books focuses on a woman who knows what she wants and won't sacrifice herself for ANYTHING other than her family. I think we can all identify with that. It isn't until she meets "the closer" that he helps her move forward and go after what she really wants.

This book got me out of my reading slump having read it in 1 day. Absolutely amazing and highly recommended!

I absolutely LOVED this book. I loved Jason and Cynthia’s story I lovedddd. Going from not standing each other to becoming so in love 😭 . Also the spice was just perfect and different compared to books I’ve read when you read it you’ll know 😊 I just wish there was more as far as when they got back home after the year but that’s probably because I couldn’t get enough of the story.

Honestly I didn’t know what to expect other than it being work rivals. It was enemies to lovers, forced proximity, strong female lead. I really enjoyed the dynamic between the main characters! I loved that can’t stand each other but learn to rely on one another ! The banter between them was 10/10 !! A fun easy read.

I liked this story. Great beginning; immediately hooked. 2 kindred spirits who have to fight hard as opposing counsels. I wish the author hadn't used the forced proximity plot because it's too easy and predictable. I like the characters and how they worked out together. Author nicely handled Jason's unexpected kinks.

I think this one is up there with one wealthy wedding from being my favorite. I love the dynamic between Jason and Cynthia. I would say it’s a soft enemies to lovers romance (they don’t hate each other) with the spice hitting in all the right places. The connection they have with each other is electric.

ARC review

This book has rivals to lovers, a strong female lead (that stays strong), touch her and die, forced proximity, and some light BDSM. I did not expect this book to explore darker themes or to have BDSM.
I also LOVE banter and the tension between the two MCs. It has come to my attention that there is a previous book with characters from this book and I can't wait to pick that up or anything else this author decides to write in the future about other characters!
